Just failed a Geth condor gold on wave 5 uuurghhhh.
Anyways guys, might as well ask here: is it advisable to equip armor penetrating mods on a weapon AND using stuff like AP or Drill ammo?

Depends - if you're trying to get double and triple hits on things, and the weapon has innate piercing, like a Typhoon or Javelin, then you won't suffer the already equipped mod's armour penalty, so go for it. Otherwise, I personally just go AP or drill and the damage barrel or similar on the weapon.

I used my Venom Drelldept on the crutch Giant/Reapers/Platinum. Ended up getting 200k while the other PUG, who was a Huntress, also scored 200k but my score was higher. Onto the next match in the same lobby, the person decides to slap on a drell. At first it was the Drell Assassin, but the PUG changed it to the Drell Adept, probably because I was beastin' and feastin' on the previous match with him. In this match, I was playing the Vanilla Human Female Adept, and we were on Reactor/Cerberus/Platinum. I ended up beastin' and feastin' over their Drelldept. Was it a coincidence that this PUG was trying to overcome me with their Drell Adept? :o

LOL.

End up in an Unknown/Geth/Gold game, map ends up being Hazard White. It went ok, then on wave 11 the host went down to some Geth stunlock BS a couple of times, and then he fired off like 3 or 4 rage missiles after gelling.

Your fault for presetting Geth, idiot.

Hurrahs and cheers of joy. That's what you'll get from me for a preset geth game.

Lol! If they were using the Venom with their Drelldept then I would know the person was actually trying to beat me at my own game.

Quitter.

Was having a fairly fun Gold/Hydra/Collectors game, levelling up my QFI and sticky grenading all the things.  We had one guy who shouldn't have been there, a first timer with his level 7 engineer, but otherwise it was going well.

Until the host quit, at the start of wave 9.  So, no more incendiary ammo, adrenaline module or shotgun amp.   Wave 9 was also horrible, we had another person join, but all three got sync-killed.  I then had a fun five minutes of "backward laps around Hydra while firing a Claymore" to achieve victory.  Wave 10 was a hack (ugh) but we struggled through and I got to extract, no problems.

Praise be to the Claymore and stickies, though.  I'm pretty sure a lesser weapon would've failed me.

Haha! :D Well, clearly, they did have way more hours than me, 'cause of their high level URs. I have yet to exceed 500hrs. My manifest says "mediocre," but clearly, there is more than meets the eye.

Which is the name of the dude who carried me and two other scrubs through rounds 9-10 of a hydra/geth/gold match, which is pretty much my most hated combo.  For some reason I can't figure hydra out whatsoever, especially when it's hosting an all you can eat stagger party.  I end up getting frustrated on that map which leads to much rage gelling in the first few rounds.

Yeah I knew what you meant... I've never checked the numbers but I'd not be at all surprised if, after the host migrates, it actually uses an extra one of each of the weapon/armour/ammo consumables I've got equipped when it "puts them back on" with the new host.

Well that's the thing, you respawn into the game again without anything you had on in terms of consumables, (Cryo ammo IV, Adrenalin mods etc) all of them are gone in that one game so you have to finish the game without anything but your perma-gear. At least I think that's what was meant here. It's really frustrating on the higher difficulties, espescially if you're respawning alone.

Never happens to me on PC so I'm guessing, like N7 Krisixus said, it's probably a console thing - never lose consumables during host migration... and for things like missiles and gels it resets the counter so I go back up to 6 of each again - host migration, while a little annoying, can actually be beneficial on PC if the game's been going a bit ropey and you've rage rocketed/gelled too often, too early ;)

I'm on PC as well, and I can confirm it does happen (see previous post).

I believe, however, whoever ends up hosting gets their consumables back, as long as they have more of them.  Do you often end up hosting during host migration?  That could explain why you don't see it occuring.

I'm on PC, and during host migration, sometimes I lose my consumables, sometimes I keep them, and sometimes I keep them but it uses one extra of each. My missiles etc. always reset, but it still counts what I used before off of my total amount.

Edit: I've never paid attention to whether it had anything to do with me hosting or not.

How odd - I don't end up hosting more than you'd expect (statistically speaking) and I've never lost my equipment on host migration... mind, I've normally got more than 200 of everything (which reminds me, I need to do another tedious store run, down to less than 90 cyclonic I & II; rarely use anything above level II for some reason) so if it does re-equip it and use another I'd not notice. Maybe you don't get it if you've run out?

Anyway - enough thread derailment I think :)

Also on PC and I never lose consumables when the host transfers to me, but it's about 50/50 if it transfers to someone else.

On topic, my last three PuGs were relaxing. I blame Aedolon and one other experienced player for that. Except for that one moment when I stood in a place where I knew a phantom could spawn behind me, and a phantom spawned behind me with a predictable result.

Matchmaking

Me: Find me a U/U/G game.

Random matchmaking operator: Gotcha covered, here's a Ghost/Cerberus/Platinum gip.  :pinched:

Playing a fitness less HMI with no cyclonics was frustrating to say the least. At least the host was kind of decent and the teammates fantastic, possibly BSNers. I didn't have time to take a look as I was getting my ass shot and shield/health gated by everything that moved.  <_<

Difficult.

Hosting with Assguard and 3 newish players join. End up Cerb on Dagger. Attacking  and reviving in equal measure . No drama it could be lag. First objective is disable . No one else even attempted to do them or gave any support while I did them . Survived just.

Wave 6 same objective same BS . This time I have Phantoms and Dragoons closing in an a  Nemesis taking pot shots at me while the other 3 are off on the other side dying and reviving. Stasis and missiles got me through.

Made it to wave 8 and got synch killed by an Atlas while trying to revive the Jug at his feet. Not a clever move but I revived him before I was synched. There are 2 Atlas  2 Phantoms and a Nemesis left . Jug meleed the Phantoms and Nemesis until the 2 Atlas turned up and then it was game over . Pug carry fail

Awful.

All the pugs in the last couple of hours have been horrible. Just had the first Gold match in a LONG time where I had to use all 6 missiles, ops packs, and medigel. <_<

Geth/Gold/Ghost Hazard.

Went *relatively* smoothly, although two of the PUGs for some reason refused to equip any consumables.

The others decided to camp at the central row of buildings, so I joined them (since I hate running around under that blasted rain). HOOOO BOYYYY, I just DON'T understand how many consider Reegar as AIU's best weapon: for me, Raider is indisputably the champion. My Raider VII (so not even maxed out)-equipped AIU absolutely DESTROYED anything that dared coming close (and since it's Geth, *everything* just want to get close, hahaha). I was actually amazed seeing just how fast Hunters, Pyros, Bombers, and even Primes got destroyed by Raider's two/threeshot-reloadcanceling combo. It was absolutely, positively, glorious to behold.

This AM when I got home from work it was London/Collectors/Silver. Using the TSent with a GE, an HFV and some Vorcha with a Reegar who did nothing for four rounds except tuck away from the action and fire his Reegar in the air. Round 5 he started to play but used his side arm rather than the Reegar. He also ran in circles for a bit for no apparent reason. Maybe he kept falling asleep?
Prior to heading back to work, I played my Asari Infiltrator. Using a Talon with my Asaris and it making me a better shot. I don't zoom in with the Talon much and end up with a decent headshot ratio.

Hey Laughing -- I was the host for that game, and the one prior with you (on my alt account)!  You did really well, scored around 150k as I remember.  I was playing the Asari Huntress, dark channeling everything so some of the kill speed you saw may be due to DC weakening, too. I had max power amps (on weapon and in gear) for DC power. I call kill stealing!  (Kidding.)

No 'decision'  to camp the central row on my part. At one point I asked myself why we were staying there but it worked out ok.  Good games!

Enjoyable.

I dropped into an in-progress match on wave 3 all by myself.  Three others joined within about 30 seconds, though I haven't quite figured out how one of them became the host, when for a while I was the only player.  Anyways, it turned out to be Cerberus/Glacier/Gold.  A Disciple wielding GI dominated the match, while the AV and my BatSent both did as well as we could considering most enemies where dead before we could get to them.  I felt a little bad for the Turian Sentinel, who scored painfully low, but again, I think that was partly due to the GI's utter dominance, as despite his low score, he died maybe twice the entire match, which is better than I can say for myself.
