And my last PUG,  Vancouver, Gold, Cerberus. Guess what? Phantomed!!

Lobby I landed in looked OK, but not exceptional or anything.  A levelling Krolord, a GE with a Javelin and...some other kit I can't remember.  Decent levelled weapons and gear, but not top tier, or with much in the way of challenge points.  I was playing a Colldept, so there was absolutely no synergy whatsoever between us (I don't think the Krolord even had Biotic Hammer yet).

 

Yet despite that, and despite landing on Glacier Hazard/Collectors/Gold, we did pretty well.  Got taken down in the LZ by buttlazors while extracting, but given the overall expectations I had, it was a really smooth game.  The Colldept does have a very strong back, in my experience, but the team did well beyond my expectations.  I really need to stop being so judgemental of pugs.

 

Though when you pug virtually every day, it is not easy...

Almost beats my record of 5 times in a game... before I learnt to be a little more careful around them when using the KroGuard - the lack of dodge makes Banshees *way* more dangerous than they otherwise are.

Today I solo'd Silver for the first time using a Geth Juggernaut. Glacier/Cerberus, yeah cheap combo but I know the map and figured Cerberus would be better than stunlockgeth which ruined my last Silver solo with a Krogan Sentinel. So when I only died once during that solo, I thought I could take the kit to Silver PUGs. Either the map and enemy combination threw me for a loop (my [sarcasm]favourite[/sarcasm] combo London/Collectors!), or I just suck when there's no enemies nearby to heavy melee. Probably the latter. Anyway, 5+ deaths later, I didn't extract. I'd love to say it was the delay between pressing the button and heavy melee, but lag wasn't that bad (I've certainly had far worse). I feel like a terrible team mate for that, I tried keeping boss aggro on me but there's only so much dps I can dish out when regenerating my shields with heavy melee. So today, I was a Puggernaut. ._.

About 14 of my last 20 UUG games have been on Reactor and Reactor Hazard. So much so that I now snort "Really? Again??" when it happens.

London/Geth/Gold with a BotB host who also has a six-digit CP.  At the start of wave 1, both the host and I ran towards the spawn at the corner of the map opposite from the LZ.  My Turian Sentinel dropped into hard cover accidentally which just happened to avoid two rockets (good instinct, I must say!) which I never saw coming.  Next thing I knew the kill-feed read kill-streak by missile.  Seriously, spawn nuking at the start of wave 1??  I immediately exited that game.

 

..... and no, that host was not FasterThanFTL.

Yeah I was in with some pretty vicious spawn nukers just last night. I honetly hadn't seen people play like that since before the Great Shield-Gate scandal. So while I'm reluctant to tell anyone how to play "their" game....I just hate it. Like what's the point? They were even running level 4 consumables in a Gold match, even more counter intuitive. I suppose if you're playing to make certain you get your credits thats fine...I guess

Was looking to give a helping hand to newer players and dropped in on an ongoing solo on Glacier/Collectors/Bronze. After we returned to the lobby, I saw he was a BotB and told him he probably didn't really need the help. He laughed, said yeah and that he just likes to play the game for fun. Probably one of the best things I've heard from a pug in a long time.

Humm.... I wasn't in that game was I? Was it a 30 something minute marathon where the host was like n7 20 or something. I couldn't actually see any of the other players that game but I thought I recognised you name in the lobby afterwards.

Some Guy with a AIU was rocking a Rapid Fire (we are Talking Revenant Style) Claymore and Scorpion, when not melting Boss units in 2 Seconds the Guy was Shaking the whole Map up wit the Scorpion. (Micro Grenades everywhere !)

It's still a new class for me but I'm enjoying the N7 Slayer.  Sign up for U/U/G and get Giant/Reapers - perfect combo for a class I'm not entirely comfortable with.  I can't remember what the other PUGs were using - one was Krogan - but they played OK.  We get to wave 9 and people start dropping like flies, suddenly I realize I'm the only one left and there's still plenty of wave budget to go, but I manage to clutch the wave even though it takes forever.  Wave 10 we get the hack near the extraction/landing zone, one PUG gets sync'd but the rest of us finish the hack, then the other two go down and I'm clutching again; only now I'm completely out of consumables and praying I don't screw up.

 

Finally we're down to two banshees and me, I'm leading them in a merry chase all over the map as well all take turns teleporting through walls, and every time I fail to dodge a reave ball the only way to avoid being DOTted to death is to charge.  Just as I kill one of them, the other one throws a ball at me through a wall, I can't charge her since I can't see her, and I bleed out.

 

Mission failed.  With one half-dead enemy left, on wave 10.

Two matches with JonIRL (BSNer? Sounds familiar [EDIT: yes]) and WeAreAllAvatar. Plus two different 3rd PUGs. So smooth. The first against Reapers was the best though. Melting everything with a mixture of tech and biotic explosions and grenades. Feel the fury! Can't think of two better matches in which to get my Spectre Mastery at last.

Got U/U/G that ended up being Jade Collectors.  Immediately two of the pugs started bitching to each other

 

Pug 1:  "God ****** damnit Collectors!  Who is the host??"

 

Pug 2:  "There is literally no way we are going to win this"

 

Pug 1:  "I play Gold all the time!  Platinum even!  But only vs Reapers!  Collectors are impossible!"

 

Pug 2:  "What ****** bullshit"

 

Pug 1:  "Seriously WHO IS THE ****** HOST?!"

 

The ****** host kept silent, as did I.  Every time I carried a wave and had to gel, I got bitched out for prolonging their agony.  Their tears were delicious.

Kept lobby jumping until I landed in a collectors lobby. The game itself was nice, free of BS (like every collector game) and I had a ton of fun, even though it was a 24 min gold game. 

 

Wish more people preset the enemy to collectors instead of BS-filled cerberus and geth. My pugging experience would become golden.

I wait for a minute or so before searching a new lobby. That solves the issue.

I seem to recognise your name...I think you were in one of the many Reactor games. I was the one spending every wave dead on the floor, most likely.

That's what I do. the last time I did it, I left the lobby, made coffee, then searched - and got dropped into the GiP of the lobby I'd left....

 

BTW JC, your mate Illegal Algebra joined a GiP I was in on Hydra yesterday. And left. And joined again. And left. Etc.

I've bumped into JonIRL a few times ... never quite sure whether he's Jon In Real Life, Jon from Ireland ... or both, and you know, being a member of the mustard race, it's not like I've ever felt able to break the silence to actually use my mic and just ask O_o

 

 

... actually, I think I was in a game with you a couple of days ago on White (or White Hazard) when I dropped into a Quickmatch GiP - no recollection about the game other than the fact that your name kinda stands out ...
