This. I'd go get a drink or something, and let some other poor sap take the spot.
Permission to grab myself a nice pint, sir? Or can't I drink on the job?

Humm.... I wasn't in that game was I? Was it a 30 something minute marathon where the host was like n7 20 or something. I couldn't actually see any of the other players that game but I thought I recognised you name in the lobby afterwards.
I've bumped into JonIRL a few times ... never quite sure whether he's Jon In Real Life, Jon from Ireland ... or both, and you know, being a member of the mustard race, it's not like I've ever felt able to break the silence to actually use my mic and just ask O_o
... actually, I think I was in a game with you a couple of days ago on White (or White Hazard) when I dropped into a Quickmatch GiP - no recollection about the game other than the fact that your name kinda stands out ...
It's a pretty unique name. Considering it just popped into my head once when I was trying to think of a screen name for a website years ago. Don't ask how my brain works.
Surprisingly, a google search of the phrase turned up a couple pictures, including the one I'm using. ![]()
That could very well have been me. I've ended up in quite a few White/HWhite matches the last couple days.
Cerberus.
My god I don't know what I did to them, but they've had it in for me the whole day. My last match though, takes the cake for most annoying deaths. Most of my Omni-Bow shots missed (does lag cause this?) so a lone trooper bull rushing me took me out. It was embarrassing. Apparently my Talon Merc couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, probably drank too much the night before. Anyway, he went down so much I'm sure the mask is to hide the imprint of various crates, rails and flooring, he was nose-diving them that often. I can't even go to a different difficulty to sulk, this was on Bronze. I figured I've improved quite a bit, but then the game throws another curve ball at me to tell me that no, I've still got heaps to learn. I think I'll call it a break for today. ![]()

Is that a word?
I just finished my very first ever of all time and previously Platinum match! First time I played it, not just completed. Pugged U/U/P and got Cerberus/Ghost Hazard, which is one of my personal nightmare levels. Damn you acid rain!
But it went well! No extra-sticky situations or anything. I didn't even use all my consumables. Barely died until 3 times during the sprint to the LZ (I was in a hurry and still barely made it). But 3 of us extracted, and I even managed 3rd with a respectable ~138k, so I feel good about this. Shout out to MASSKETEER, Star(Haven?)(numbers), and stiven(numbers). I wish I had paid more attention to your names so I could give you all proper credit. I don't know if you're BSNers who will ever see this, but I enjoyed that match, and your teamwork kept it from being the agony I thought it would be.
(PS: Build: 4/6/6/5/5 QME with Piranha VII. And Cyclonics of course.
)
Ragequit...
... or more accurately missilemissilemissilemissilemissilemissileragequit
After having just had a laggy U/U/G roll me Cerberus/Dagger Hazard (which ended badly on the W10 1,2,3,4 objective) I bailed the lobby and got another U/UI/G huzzah! ... Cerberus/Glacier and laggy ... I hate Cerberus, I hate Dagger (especially hazard) and I hate Glacier (but at least it wasn't Glacier Hazard which I hate most of all) - made it to wave 6 before I decided I'd just had enough of the BS and figured, you know what, this isn't fun... lob the Cobras and I'm outta here!
I think that's only the 2nd game I've ever ragequit.
Nope.

That match was just... ... nope. The pugs sucked. I sucked. Condor and Geth suck. Let's not forget lag... Good night, game.

Dang.
I had tested the Collector Adept on Xbox, but on the PC he's on different levels of awesome. Needs a couple of tweaks and he'll be one of my best kits.
EDIT: Since FF is checking the thread, I should probably add that the next kit I'll be playing is the Fury.
Medals.
1. Siege Pulse
2. ???
3. Profit

For some reason everyone seems to preset their Gold matches to Reapers/Geth nowadays, never to Cerberus or Collectors.......
That's lag alright I can vouch for that, hapens in heavy lag situations but that almos always includes ruberbanring also in my case...and for the basic unit killing ya, yeah...my worst nightmare, and I almost always know it's my end in advance.
Ah, that makes sense then. Probably one of the kits that do significantly worse with lag (if melee orientated) than say, one that isn't heavily reliant on powers/attacks hitting with accuracy. Like off-host vanguards. There was a bit of rubber-banding, but nothing extreme. I found it tolerable if I stayed in cover whenever the rubber-banding occurred, but again sometimes the nearest cover didn't provide protection from the enemy as they had spawned on our flank. I probably should've used my gun, although I forgot it was there half the time. Thank you for the confirmation, I'll stick to using that kit when it isn't ridiculously early in the morning in my time zone, thus giving me a higher probability of being paired with a local host.
Typically it is the mooks that take me out as they usually get in the last hit after a heavy-hitter enemy softened me up. I've lost count how many times I've retreated from a hard hitting enemy only to be downed by a well placed grenade or spray of bullets. I can almost hear the collective "Really?" from my silent team mates as I either rage-gel or mash the omni-button in the hope that my team has deemed me worthy of reviving. It probably was my end, with the distance from the host creating latency. Not much I can do about it, other than grin and bear it. I was ah, annoyed yesterday, very much so - was tempted to missile some troopers as payback. Yesterday was just a major derp day for me I think. ![]()

Bad Teammates...
I'll leave it at that. Doesn't really help, whenever you roll out on of your flimsiest characters on Platinum.

Played a couple of gold pugs after 6 or 7 months of break. Surprisingly, it went smooth and nice (last one - Reapers/Vancouver), doing good enough to finish 2nd with Get Engie.
Maybe I'm not that old and rusty after all. Still afraid of Platinium.
Pugalicious
Searched U/U/G and got a game preset to Giant/Reapers. The host (Pug 1) was a brand spanking newbie of 120-ish N7 rating, a couple hundred Challenge Points, a Phaeston III, and no equip whatsoever. Pug 2 was N7 900, with only around 1200 Challenge Points, who WOULD NOT SHUT UP. The entire game, he was telling Pug 1 all about Mass Effect 1, 2, and 3, and how he himself has been playing a very long time and is an expert at the game. By my rough estimation, about 50% of the things he was telling Pug 1 were correct.
Pug 3 didn't say much, but when he did, it sounded like he was on speakerphone.
I had my trusty Harrier Batsol, and their combined score was something close to my own. After a few moments of Pugs 1 and 2 remarking how "beast" I was, the host giggled like an idiot and set it to Platinum. With a hearty "Let's DO THIS!" he readied up with his Phaeston III and no gear. Pug 2 followed suit. Pug 3 actually went along with this.
I left the lobby with 1 second left on the countdown. Bad things were about to happen.

So what you are saying is that pugs are roughly 10x more accurate than BSN.
WHY
You know those games where you're just looking for a relaxing time on gold - get in, get out, get credits - and you find 6 hunters coming up on you? Or when you're trying to do devices, but damn if those 15 or 20 geth rocket troopers don't just keep shooting at you? How about when youre thinking, "Yeah! I made it all the way to Wave 11! Two minutes of avoiding death and I can extract from this!", and the timer pops up reading three minutes? And when you try to make it back you can't, because every path on Reactor to the LZ is packed with nearly wall-to-wall geth hunters, dozens of them, and they just keep staggering you?
Well now I do. I got to experience one with my level 19 IDGAF Cryo-ish Havoc build that I made just because I need to finish extractions for him, plus a few more Bronze solos. Yes, still Bronze, because I find solos very boring. I don't even like the Havoc, either. Like, pretty much at all. Easily one of my least favorite classes. And I had no CC on him whatsoever, except what little Cryo could provide with no one to detonate.
So yeah. At the end I got on my mic and asked WHY. My only answer was silence. But I knew the host and his buddy were crouching there, lapping up my PUG tears.
(PS: The host and the guy I assume was his buddy extracted and scored 1st and second with 200-some-k apiece. I was a distant but not terrible third. PUG 3 was that distance again behind me in 4th. He must have been totally shell-shocked.)
Hazardous.
GlacierHaz/Reaper/Gold. The hazard was invisible to me, and it felt like brutes where spawning on top of me every 10 seconds. The PUGs where decent. The top scorer was a Harrier TGI, though my Harrier Demogirl was beating him points wise until he spammed missiles on extraction. We also had a Flamertrooper and a Collector. Everyone was over 80K, so I wouldn't say there was any deadweight on the team, which was a nice change.
Easy
Hazard White, Reapers, Platinum. One of the easiest platinum games I've played.
We started with only 3 players, I was the Valkyrie and only went down twice, once was an insta-kill by a banshee when I got a little too close. The host was a beast with his T Sol Hurricane and the third was the Huntress. A Paladin joined later and even though he kept messing up my BE's, it was all good.
I would've stuck around guys, but 'real life' called.
