Interesting.
 
Typical reaper shenanigans, quite a boring match really, Vancouver was the map. Boring that is, until extraction. I dropped a hex shield to shock some incoming reaper mooks, and a cannibal decided to attempt to walk through it. At that same time, a phoenix vanguard or adept, dunno which since both were in the match, lashed the cannibal. The shield went with it, moved a solid couple of metres from where I had placed it against the shipping container thingamajig. It was hilarious, I didn't think they could be moved unless redeployed or well, destroyed.

Try casting singularity near one.

Laughs

Kited an abomb over to the random and blew us both to kingdom come. Gelled, revived, and went on with the game. He got me with an abomb and I suspect tried to feed me to a crab but I got us both in extraction with four seconds left. Between trying to kill each other, we actually got the job done without much help from anyone else as others joined and left. Thanks guy, it was fun.

Annoying

 

Quick search (using my main account), and land in a lobby with 2 peple speaking French. They kick me .. odd considering they still had their lobby set to public but w/e, so I search again and land right back in their lobby. This time no kick, we get a 4th and away we go on a pre set Glacier Cerberus.

 

Myself and the host were doing most of the damage (and thanks, don't worry i'll do the objectives while you randomly kill stuff, and don't revive anyone either .. that would be teamwork .. don't want that). Match ends and the host and his friend leave the lobby .. I quick search for another match and guess who's lobby I land in? There is already a 4th, and as soon as that player leaves, they kick me again! Hey, why would you want a competent teammate, right?

 

So I search again, and as I'm loading in I can overhear these 3 young guys mic'd up talking "Whoah, it's another Lone Wolf! I wonder how he got it, did he solo Gold or Platinum? Of course, I've done both no problem" I load in and am looking at the N7 300 ish with a LW banner. I voluntarily quit this game on wave 6, which I almost never do. His 2 friends were ok, but mr. "Lone Wolf", using a Novaguard had 7k points (UUG) when I quit in wave 6. Dude, there a better chance I am the Sultan of Brunei than you actually solo'd Gold, let alone Platinum LOL. A clear case of exploiting wave 11 host migration to get that banner.

 

After that I flipped off the PS3 ...

...it's what you get when you see someone completely ignore a device that was just in front of them in an area free of enemies. Then again, and again, and again in Waves 3, 6 and 10 of Devices on Goddess/Reapers. And it wasn't even a lone player who did that.

 

Seriously...I don't mind newcomers on Gold, or having to carry on waves. But at the very least learn to play....please? D:

I've been noticing an annoying trend of OMGICanScorePoints on Platinum. Everyone is using a flamer character, and all they do is spam flamer to the very last second. I'm tired of being blinded on every freakin' Platinum match! If they have to missile on Wave 11 just to attempt to get past me, it's very sad. I was using the Asari Huntress with the incendiary IV Harrier, and I was constantly running out of ammo. Shooting through a mist of flames isn't exactly how I want to enjoy the match. By the way, there was a Vorcha Hunter, Geth Trooper, and Volus Sentinel. The volus locked my weapon and powers once, surprisingly.

Tempting....fortunately, it was the first time something like that happened to me (usually it's a crazy race to see who gets the Device first). Hopefully it'll be the last.

After a bad down in Reactor (Reapers again), to my surprise I noticed that my body went down to one of those opened but unaccesible "maintenance" areas (the one that is just in front of the entrace to the reactor closer to the players' spawn). When I revived at the end of the wave, I was completely trapped. I couldn't leave the small area neither I could even take cover. Ironically, the next wave was a Escort one, where the drone spawned just in front of me. I saw the rest of the squad to carry it through the reactor while a Ravager upstairs mercilessly blowed my face to pieces.

 

Even now I honestly think it was God's way of teaching me to freakin' always take cover, damnit!

Put my Vorcha Soldier into a UUG lobby with an AIU, a GI, and a QME. We got Dagger Hazard vs Geth. The sandstorm was particularly bad today, so my fragile Vorcha was going down to rocket troopers that I simply could not see. Then the Quarian bailed at wave 4, so I was the sole target for all the aggro when the infiltrators cloaked and ran off. I was taken down several times by hunters whom I thought were the GI in cloak...gamer tags were not showing reliably so that was confusing. I ended up spectating a couple of waves, and scored 1/3 as much as the GI and the AIU (they had about the same score). We extracted successfully though. To add insult to all the Geth-inflicted injury, they kicked me as soon as we got back to the lobby.

Unwanted Counselor

 

I joined a game (Collectors/Reactor), with someone throwing out advices to everyone in the party. Well, mostly "Don't do XXX, do YYY!" "Save your missiles for XXX!", etc, although we were doing good on Gold (nearly 0 downs, 0 bleedouts, all objectives done flawlessly...). But he kept and kept on talking....

 

We extracted, and back in the lobby he kept talking and giving orders. He got kicked in less than 5 seconds.

 

Moral of the story: if your team is doing decently well, just leave everybody to play as they see fit.

Unintentional troll.

 

Kick off a game with 2 of us . End up Collectors on Dagger. Wave 3 devices and the Jug who happens to be right near the first Device starts the objective.

I can see that there are no other enemies nearby so I keep my distance just picking off the occassional abomination or trooper that gets too close .

 

Not sure what took him down . He was 90 % through the objective. I race down and he is sprawled over the device . Every time I try to revive him I start the device instead. My Asari is pretty much sitting on him in an awkward position while this is going on. I did actually manage to get into position to revive him once but had to abandon the revive because getting overwhelmed.

 

Long story short . He bleeds out and leaves and I waste 2 gels and 2 missiles to finish off the objective all alone.

UUG with QME (me), HME, DAI, and a Vorcha with a flamer (not sure which one, as I don't recall seeing any grenades or carnage being used).

 

Rolled Dagger Hazard and Collectors -- simultaneously one of my favourite and most dreaded combos.

 

For objectives we got: Devices, Devices, and Devices. I only heard someone come on their mic once during the game and it was at the beginning of wave 10 to say, "[expletive deleted]."

 

Highlight of wave 10 for me was being killed a split second after I finished enabling a device. Twice -- once to cluster grenades, and once to eye lasers.

Debuffs

 

Reapers/White/Gold.  With a Havoc, HMI, QME, and my HFSent all throwing Cryoblast, TacScan, and Warp at every boss in sight, Brutes and Banshees melted like butter.

 

 

Huh, and I just realized, I don't think I've got an UR in over two months now...

Dropped into wave 3 of an unfinished map.  Spent most of the time walking around admiring the scenery (lots of nice squares) and looking for the ammo boxes.  Finally realized that there were no, yes zero, ammo boxes.  Wave 10 seemed to have come and gone in a flash.  It's like extraction immediately followed wave 9.

Thanks for dropping in! That was my game on Firebase Neptune, one of the unfinished, but mostly functional maps. Sorry about the ammo - there are "boxes" on that map, around the perimeter mostly, but instead of the actual boxes it's just piles of ammo on the ground. Easy to miss, maybe. The objectives are also sometimes bugged on that map, so that every once in a while the objective round starts and then immediately ends. Still, I think it's fun to show off the unfinished maps once in a while to give people a taste of something different and brand-new. If you ever want to do a match on one of those maps again, just let me know.
