Delayed Explosives

 

Yeah, yeah, it's two words, I know.  Collectors/Condor/Gold.  Most of the time when I killed PAs, the explosion didn't occur until seconds later, which caused a couple of accidental deaths of teammates.  I mow it down, and a few seconds later, a teammate runs by, and BOOM!.  Not that I was overly heartbroken, considering two of the PUGS scored 43K and 39K after having been there all match.

 

As I was loading in, I hear someone commenting on me: "Hey, a Cabal, don't see them very often!"

 

Were you using Cryo Ammo?  I've noticed with that, and Cryo Blast, you can get some quite delayed explosions with Abombinations.  Playing a character with Lash, Pull or Throw on Collectors/Hazard Reactor using Cryo Ammo is pretty much the best thing ever.

I went in with my Drellguard, knowing that since I was offhost it would be a pile of crap. Little did I know that I would be in a not-ready-for-gold pug match.

 

I had used all my medgel by wave 9. In that wave, the Edi-clone who was well at the bottom of the scoreboard was the only one left, and then promptly beat the score of the other two players before the wave was out. How does that happen?

Had to shoot the Volus who kept locking me up.

That made me feel better.

 

Then, hit by a Rocket Trooper.

Through a solid wall, no less.

That wasn't a bit fair.

 

I hate Geth.

And Phantoms.

Drell, Cerberus, Gold, Glacier, Paladin also in lobby. It wasn't even fair between the tech bursts and dishes being broken on the cryo explosions.

Ran into another Arc nade spamming Demolisher. Didn't hit another button throughout, camped an ammo box and bled out quite a few times. He had the nerve to send me a "Grenades ftw!" message afterwards, and I felt compelled to let him know how annoying that was, giving him pointers to diversify his gameplay.

Ran into him in the next lobby and left, and he asked if he was that annoying. The answer was obviously "Yes". He took offence to that, crying about being human and not having unlimited gel and equipment. I had to put a stop to it then.

Host had a terrible connection, and what's worse is that we didn't extract because the host froze the game. I was a bit disappointed and annoyed. I was playing the N7 Slayer off-host, 'cause I just wanted melee things. Also, the PUGs started to missile a bunch on Wave 3, especially the Turian Saboteur. He ran back to the hack and then got struck down by a Marauder. I didn't even bother to pick him up, 'cause he made the hack much harder by missiling the far away spawn.

I've been much more selective with the lobbies this week - if two or more ready with no consumables I leave, if only one does it I vote to kick, if the others ready anyway I leave, GIP I leave.  Results: my last three gold PUGs were great - two mostly-biotic teams with my drelldept and one mostly-tech team with my HME, much boom everywhere, no truly frantic moments, full (or nearly full) extraction in about 20 minutes each.

 

Sometimes this game makes me want to put my fist through my monitor, but when it's working well and you have a good squad it's pretty darned sweet.

Two games in progress in a row, two different hosts, both had originally been gold but had changed it to silver or bronze before I showed up. Hooray for me and anyone else unfortunate enough to land in their games. RIP consumables.

I tried to revive a Volus decoy! The actual body was a ways away and in the frenzy of the game I didn't see it at first. Lol.

Played a few U/U/G with the same group.  Two relatively new players (low N7, Challenge Points, and weapons) must have either watched guides online or seen other players and attempted to imitate them.  One was a shotgun GI and kept going down, but I didn't think badly of him.  It took me a while to get used to Hunter Mode, the way your screen changes just annoyed me.

 

The other was a Puggernaut with a Predator X and another weapon.  He went down almost as much as the GI did.  Normally, the Puggernauts I see just try to melee everything, but this one almost never meleed.  Just used his weapons, but either he was getting some terrible lag or he had terrible aim.

 

I tried talking to them to offer them some advice, but the silence was my answer.

Loading into a game in progress, I hear "teammate has gone down", so that's not good. I load in, there are 2 other players, one just skulled and the other is down but not out. Collectors Ghost, which is fun, so I want to stick around. I run to get the downed teammate up but they skull before I get there. No problem, it's an early wave and I have stim packs, no big deal, then all of a sudden "the host has left". RIP in peace consumables.

i believe if you don't kill any enemy or wave ends, your consumables never lost.

I lost all my stuff. I've seen people debate on when the game lets you keep it and when it takes it away. Some say it's time based, some say you have to go a round before you lose it, some say you keep it if you don't fire a shot. Whatever causes it, it took mine.

I pugged a random gold for fun rather than profit, just using my GPSMG for giggles and fully expecting to be third or fourth on the board at finish. 

 

Wave 8. I'm number one. Fuuuuuuu-

 

Proceed to wipe except for one player, who had a grand total of 19k points, who then proceeded to run around on his human engineer using only overload and rapid firing an uncharged arc pistol. Never have I felt such rage.

 

Unsurprisingly, we failed. After he ran around for 10 minutes and scored a grand total of about 1000 more points, of course.

Also, someone's earlier post reminded me of a game I had a few weeks/months back. I call it...

 

The Shortest Game of All Time

 

I drop in on wave 12. Seriously. i fully equip my character, click the button, and enter the game AFTER the extraction. No credits. Experience on a level 20 character. Total gametime; less than a second.

 

Whelp, at least that equipment was better used than most of my games.

Brutal.

 

Wasn't exactly a random game, I had one friend in it.  But it was Condor Collectors (Gold) and off the bat a guy is glitched on the LZ (infinite load most likely).  So we were short a guy initially.  Then on Wave 3 Devices it was a cluster and the 3rd bleed out and left, the guy on the LZ left, and finally another guy showed up.  Wave 6 targets.  A 4th showed up but then disappeared.  Wave 10 Devices were a pain again.  But in the end we extracted.  I was melee Human Adept, used everything except my thermal clips packs.

Hydra, Geth, Platinum.  Geth on Hydra is bad enough, but then the lag kicks in. One wtf moment was when one second I'm in hard cover the next moment I'm down and in spectator mode.

 

Then it just got worse and worse until the host left. Didn't matter though, we all got wiped by wave 8.

W10 post-objective of a tedious derperus game, team mates downed by an atlas and a phantom, figured I'd just missile that crap and get it over with. Fire missile, game crashes.
