The host I was on was fine, at first. But then I let some guy bleed out because it was Silver and all I cared about was finally finishing my Predator challenge, and suddenly I started rubber banding. That kept up the rest of the time, but the weird part was when 2 PUGs went down next to each other. I came in and rescued them from a stomping, and proceeded to revive both of them. The moment I finished reviving the second guy he suddenly registered as bled out, but his character was standing up in a rigid, unmoving T-pose. Dead, but standing. The other PUG and I stared at him for a few seconds, and then I shot him in the head point-blank with my Predator. He immediately came back to life and ran off to keep fighting.

So there you have it: the Predator may be awful at killing things, but it can bring people back to life.

Choose Bronze to level up my Lv. 1 Havoc --- the game dumped my sexy Turian ass on Glacier Geth mid-match on a goddamn Platinum.

Choose Gold with Gold-level equipment/consumable --- the game dumped my shiny Golden ass on a Bronze game.

Choose Silver just to relax with no consumable --- the game dumped my silvery ass on a hazard Gold game.

 

WTF game.

Landed in a lobby as a forth player and immediately got a kick vote from what I thought was a friendly BSNr but turns out this chick starts to I believe swear on Russian and I hear she mention me. I left after I saw she's not gonna ready up with me there.

But here's the funny part, I search for a new game and set my search to geth. Now it throws me directly on White and there's geth all over the place but when I softened the welcoming party I hear....Russian swearing again.
Turns out the same girl also fled that lobby and started up a solo. She was furious when I came so much she wasted all of her missiles on me and then quit

This was an odd game. That person would occasionally just start flying back and forth across the screen for no reason. And the swarm was stationary visually, but was moving around invisibly. Also, occasionally chest shots would give me head shots. But not any noticeable lag to speak of.

Doing some more Bronze leveling for my GE with a Carnifex. Over 50 kills, and about 3/4 of them were headshot kills. I'm not usually so accurate.

I have no problem if you want to play an overpowered kit. GI Piranha? Be my guest. But please, be courteous and don't kill everything I prime before I can detonate it? Pretty, pretty please? 

 

So very irritating. Probably cut my DPS by half. At least I didn't actually have to do anything to win.

I'll hang around in Silver for a while longer, maybe not as long as 1000 games, but a little while longer nonetheless. I'm fairly confident with the Geth Trooper now, but other kits need some a lot of practice. Now that I've used it for a few more games, the Acolyte is a pretty beastly gun even at rank 1. I can't believe I've avoided Silver for this long, it's not as bad as I remember it to be. Thank you for the luck, I'll probably need it, and yes one of the reasons why I stayed in Bronze for so long, was because I wasn't enjoying the sheer number of deaths I had in the few Silver games I played. Glad to have at least improved enough to not be a live decoy. 

To be honest, as long as you're accustomed to checking your six every now and then and to dodging stuff (and for that matter, not positioning yourself in a manner that prevents you from doing so effectively), GT/flamer/acolyte (no hunter mode unless you feel like spending some cyclonics, I guess) is potent enough on gold even if you don't break out consumables.
I'm going to be flamed for the suggestion here, but fact is, you won't end up being carried, that's for sure. The thing is, flamer and acolyte are absurdly good and easy to use for what they are (Acolyte may be at level 1 and it's still mini-nuke, and flamer does way more damage than many things new-ish account can afford to field), they don't interfere with each other (you can charge, reload and even shoot acolyte while using flamer) and GT is tough compared to many other characters (so you won't faceplant while flaming away; unless you've missed that ravager, heh).

 

Thinking about it, I should try all-geth team one day. They work great with each other, at least on paper.

 

OT: Diverse

Latest games I've had were very different. Some of them were bronze derpfests as I promoted/respecced my Paladin (I'm not even sure how to build him; I think I know about SF bugs at this point, but people keep me alerted always talking about Incinerate bugs and I also don't think I can figure out ED what's up with ED priming and detonations; probably just small window for that). One of those games amused me with people rocking out level 3-4 consumables (yes, that was bronze; probably the case of "I have 255 AR amps but no geth rifle challenge points").

On a related note, it's a bit therapeutic to run a few bronze games with carnifex or something like that.

 

Other games featured pretty good teamwork, like that game with coordinated biotic team. It was smooth enough that players got cocky and decided to camp EZ on wave 11. Well, they actually camped it for entire game (Giant/reapers/gold), so yeah. Few gels and missiles later, we managed to get full extraction - I laughed hard when I realized it actually happened, considering that mess we were in.

 

Finally we had a Vancouver/reapers/gold game which went pretty much to hell.

Dear Krolord, I appreciate your contribution, but you could contest the MVP position of our GI (I think it was GI...) if you weren't trying to melee banshees every damn time you saw one. Hell, it's Vancouver, you could at least do that on ramps, but no...

Other than that, I liked that match even though we didn't make it in the end. I realized that I finally stopped panicking in last man standing position (thanks BSN who uploaded solo vids here and there, those really help with righting mindset for that), we also had decent duo teamwork during devices-6, one man kiting stuff away from objectives, other doing them.

If only I sucked less during wave 9, which killed both me and GI trying to salvage the situation... Sorry, mate.

 

Losing is sometimes fun too, especially if you feel like you've become better through experience. Credits... Well, you need so much of them in this game that losing some of them like that don't matter much to me in the grand scheme of things.

It was kinda cute and I'm truly sorry for whatever I did to provoke her but it started in the lobby so I guess she already knew me from before. I just wish I know what I did to deserve that.

Don't know if the servers had a hickup or if it was just a case of lag

 

Searched for UUG yesterday and got into a GIP (Wave 1 Collectors/Giant/Gold). Upon entering the game everybody else got disconnected (i guess) restarting the wave with me as the only player.

 

What a mayhem!  Mooks (mostly abominations and collector captains able to go through walls - a real pain when a possessed abomb suddenly comes through the wall beside you at the LZ and grabs you), Scions sometimes teleporting like banshees and Praetorians sometimes flying "upside down"  with their shields up.

 

Thought that ending a wave would fix it, but the game Just kept trolling in any way possible, and nobody else joined. Made it to wave 7 before a desperate lack of consumables and a Scion shot ended the sufferings.

 

Cheating Collector b......s!! Cr.p servers :-/

 

The only game, so far, I have ever had like this (and hopefully the last one).

Thank you for the advice, I appreciate it. I will agree with you there, since that post I've played some Gold games after the host changed it to Gold to Silver. Not UUG but White/Reapers/Gold, I used both the GT and Asari Valkyrie (when everyone else was a biotic). Ravagers are a real pain when they're further away from me than what the flamer can reach, they downed me a few times. I'm pretty sure I have a target painted on my characters backs that only Ravagers and Banshees can see, they seem to target me more often than not.

 

Checking my six has become something necessary, in Bronze getting flanked doesn't really get me killed unless I'm soloing. Silver, yeah, I've died to flanking Dragoons/Phantoms more than I'd like. I haven't gotten the hang of well timed dodges yet, Banshee warp balls still hit me in the face despite a dodge. Then there's Brutes which seem to hit me from half a map away (slight exaggeration) unless I dodge to the right of their claw, not quite possible in narrow hallways. Nonetheless, practice should help me out there.

 

Truth be told I didn't like the Acolyte at first, I was used to using the Arc Pistol which can be shot without charging, so that's why. However, it's now one of my favourite heavy pistols. Bouncing the charges around corners is fun and slapping some cryo rounds on it stops the unshielded mooks from taking me down if I manage to hit them. Killing guardians with it is a trick though, but manageable if they're near a wall so I can bounce the charges into their backs.

 

 

OT: Quick

 

Played some Bronze games to finish a character extraction challenge, decided to continue for a few more rounds after. Switched characters, to the Volus Vanguard for another game, which went by really fast as he's a little ball of destruction on Bronze (& on host). Enemies were falling over with a single charge, anyone outside of the charge radius fell to the Talon's pellets. I'm tempted to take him to Silver, but if I play off host I'll probably eat dirt when mashing the 1 button. XD

That is strange.  I'm also in the UK and end up on Russian hosts all the time, and the latency is usually excellent.

 

Maybe they were in Vladivostok or something.

I ended up in a UUG lobby with guys all having 36k+ CP and consumables equipped. I was playing my melee Kroguard, which is kinda my go-to class when I play pugs. Anyway, game starts on Jade, we get Geth. I don't notice anything unusual, everyone is doing fine. On Wave 6 though, something veeeeeery strange occurs : hunters, hunters everywhere ! At some point I was surrounded by 8 or 9 At that point, I was glad I had picked my fellow Kroguard. I though it was a bug and laughed about it to the other guys ; no one replied. The "problem" re-occurs during the next waves ; rocket troopers swarmed wave 9, IIRC. The game ends with a nice 655k team score.

 

Next game, same crew : we get Hydra/Collectors. It starts from the very beginning, Possessed Troopers everywhere ! Wave 2, we get TONS of Possessed Abominations. And all abominations run faster than usual From that point on, I was convinced it was a coalesced mod.

 

The game were tough and it didn't look like the damage or hit points were modified ; we all died several times but fully extracted both times IIRC. Very fun games, a bit strange at first but really nice. Don't do this if you're not totally comfy on Gold, though.

Playing Krolord to get the extraction challenge, found a lobby with preset Cerberus. Krolord should be able to kill phantoms in one hit right? Is what I figured. First time the host quits and nobody else stays for the migration, quit the game cause the map is Condor. Next lobby, preset Cerberus again, and RNG decides to throw Condor again. I guess I was playing like a jerk and got my just desserts with two phantom sync kills (mind you these witches were teleporting all over the place with lag)... but seriously, the Atlas sync kill on extraction? That was utter BS. Melee'd the thing then got the hell outta dodge, Atlas decided that I was still within range and reeled me back in for a sync kill. I almost rage quit that match. I'm going to sulk on Bronze now.
