Thinking about it, I should try all-geth team one day. They work great with each other, at least on paper.

I did an all geth game on Platinum before. Sadly everyone chose their kits before me so I got stuck with the Juggernaut <_<

Basically, the GI and GT went off and completely murdered spawns, while me and the GE just sort of... sat around. Quite boring, but it was an easy game.

Edit: To make it more on topic, my last pug was yesterday and I tried UUP since I was on a free equipment game. Naturally, the pugs were useless, they only scored about 40k combined when we finally wiped on wave 9 of Glacier/Cerb/Plat. Would post the screenshot but idk if that's reaching e-peen territory since I scored a ridiculous amount from all the solo'ing. Some of the worst pugs I've ever had.

Slacking

Me, not the pugs, and deliberately. I went with my venomous Volus merc and just spammed the drone, decoy and SB following an Asari adept around glacier in pursuit of phantoms. I fired 4-5 shots every round and a little bit more on extraction but all things considered I was a total pacifist.

"Shut up, go to the dick. blinked poke bastard" doesn't sound so bad.

At least, that's what Google Translate thinks it says :P

I've done this before and It played out exactly the same way, except I was the GI with Javelin >:).

GE just followed me and the trooper around spamming heal turrets at us and doing what he could damage wise. Jugg wasn't even able to get to any enemies before they died in a hail of flames and sniper fire.

Scores at the end were me and GT pretty even at 220k something while GE had like 90k and the jug like 30k

Not just on paper.  An all geth team utterly wrecks the opposition.  I have landed into a couple of pugs like that, usually with my GI Raider, and they're even smoother than normal games with a GI raider.

In fact, most "all one race" teams are pretty awesome.  Turians, because Turians.  Asari for biotics.  Quarians for roflstomping the geth.  Drell for stylishness and deeps.  And Krogan for sheer awesomeness.

Quarians for roflstomping everything but especially the geth.

FTFY

Teams that all have the same race tend to have a good bit of natural synergy it seems. Quarians all have tech attacks (except QMI, though grenades cause TB and FE) to combo TB's off each other, for example, and sabotage's tech vulnerability to make them overpowered, while Asari all have biotics for explosions. Krogan can cause lots of fire explosions (Proguard carnage/charge, Krosent incinerate, Everything about Krosol), and Geth are just pure weapon and tech DPS. Turians are well rounded and prepared for any enemy or defense. The only ones you can't say this about are humans, because there are so many of them and they are so diverse.

Cute how it only seems to take a level 8 Volus Vanguard to lead on silver. Number 4 at least has an excuse, he joined mid game.

All-human team would be more like all-human army.

That said, we missed all-Volus team too :)

OT: The very last game today was hilarious. I'm not sure if we managed to score a dozen of deaths during the very first wave of Hydra/collectors/gold. We sure managed to make it two later on. Needless to say, it was spectacular failure.

People are pretty weird with their tactics tbh, what's with trying to clear devices instead of leading enemies away, camping LZ on wave 11 or during pizza run (c'mon...).

Yeah.

Yeah.

All-Volus teams are awesome. Ask HeroicMass.

One thing, camping the LZ during pizza runs is to try to keep the path clear for delivery. On some maps the enemy camps the LZ after the first delivery and before the second if it's unoccupied. White is a notable example.

Had loads of strength enhancers so decided to whip out the old Talon Merc for a spin. Also had loads of power amp IV's, so used on of them as well. Drew Geth/London/Gold, and...Good heavens, that guy is powerful. He can kill primes in like six volleys. That's two grenades, for you non-taloners out there.

Which was a good thing, because my teammates were having a hard time existing. When, by wave six, I had a 50000 point lead, I knew we were in for some trouble. At that point I was down to one medigel and had pretty much given up hope for my teammates, who wouldn't come downstairs or rez me when I got wasted in a half second.

But then, my expectations were cruelly and unusually subverted! To my amazement, the second top-scorer, a Kroguard, began to follow me around and kill stuff that got close while reviving me occasionally! I don't know who you are, and I can't remember your full name, but Wad0man, I tip my hat to you. You are a gentleman and a scholar.

By the way, London is basically the ultimate map for the Talon. Long lines of sight, extremely predictable spawns, and good cover? Oh, tell me more, baby.

Thank you for the advice, I appreciate it. I will agree with you there, since that post I've played some Gold games after the host changed it to Gold to Silver. Not UUG but White/Reapers/Gold, I used both the GT and Asari Valkyrie (when everyone else was a biotic). Ravagers are a real pain when they're further away from me than what the flamer can reach, they downed me a few times. I'm pretty sure I have a target painted on my characters backs that only Ravagers and Banshees can see, they seem to target me more often than not.

Checking my six has become something necessary, in Bronze getting flanked doesn't really get me killed unless I'm soloing. Silver, yeah, I've died to flanking Dragoons/Phantoms more than I'd like. I haven't gotten the hang of well timed dodges yet, Banshee warp balls still hit me in the face despite a dodge. Then there's Brutes which seem to hit me from half a map away (slight exaggeration) unless I dodge to the right of their claw, not quite possible in narrow hallways. Nonetheless, practice should help me out there.

Truth be told I didn't like the Acolyte at first, I was used to using the Arc Pistol which can be shot without charging, so that's why. However, it's now one of my favourite heavy pistols. Bouncing the charges around corners is fun and slapping some cryo rounds on it stops the unshielded mooks from taking me down if I manage to hit them. Killing guardians with it is a trick though, but manageable if they're near a wall so I can bounce the charges into their backs.

OT: Quick

Played some Bronze games to finish a character extraction challenge, decided to continue for a few more rounds after. Switched characters, to the Volus Vanguard for another game, which went by really fast as he's a little ball of destruction on Bronze (& on host). Enemies were falling over with a single charge, anyone outside of the charge radius fell to the Talon's pellets. I'm tempted to take him to Silver, but if I play off host I'll probably eat dirt when mashing the 1 button. XD

You don't need walls to kill Guardians with Acolyte. Just shoot on the left/right side of under their feet; presto! I've sent so many Guardians flying with this method while shooting at them with Acolyte from the front, hahahaha.

Also off-host evading Banshee's cheating ball of death can be troublesome; even if it *seems* like you avoided it, it would have hit you anyways so yeah. The same with Brute's cheating charging swipe of death: the hitbox is a lot longer than what the animation seem to entail. So many cheaters in the enemies' side... sigh.

Intense

Unknown, Unknown, Platinum turned into Reactor, Reapers. We started well, but after wave 4 we kept getting split up and over run. We had a marathon revive fest on wave 7 and I got sync'ed. Still we kept at it and we made it to extraction, although I didn't have any consumables left. Tough game all round.

Sorry I had to leave after that guys. It was beddy' bye time for me.

God.

Hydra/Reapers/Gold. Running flamerless GT after getting a Spitfire VI and figuring I should at least try it once. Solid group; everyone hit the objectives and didn't spend too much time face down. I think 7twozero dropped in at some point.

Wave 4, I'm cruising, topping the board, when it hits me that I just took two Ravalaz0rs to the face and didn't even flinch. Walked out and took three more just to make sure; yep, I've got godmode. Pretty much got to play Terminator until wave 9. Those Banshees' magnet hands work even better when you're completely metal.  <_<

Oh yeah, thanks, I didn't recognize you. I think I was the human soldier, blue with yellow stripes right? Things worked out pretty well, except one person didn't make it to extraction if I remember. Not sure what happened there, just noticed at the last minute someone had gone down. Anyway thanks for the game, Hydra can get a little disorganized but I think we kept it together pretty well. The escort especially went smooth.

Some decent pugs today.

Hosted a Hydra/reapers game as a jug and only one player joined, a drelldept. Without Reave.  <_<

I didn't think we'd extract, and I was right, but somehow we made it all the way to the end of wave 10. 3x pizzas, and the pug delivered all of them. I finally bled out after we finished the last objective, and he (slowly!) whittled the wave down to a single banshee. Just as I was thinking we'd actually survive, the banshee happyfunballed him. :o Dang, that was close.

That was followed by a couple of smooth games on Goddess and Vancouver, featuring much biotic booming with a huntress and collector adept, and another jug.

Giant Hazard/Geth/Gold.

A Krogan, a Demolisher and a Quarian Infiltrator never left the EZ area the whole game.

Muppets.

Been a pretty reviving day.

Two 15 revive medals, and at least two 10 revives.

AAAANNNNDDDD, drum roll please, after 5628 games I've finally done the Acolyte pistol challenge.

That didn't take long....

SmashguardBackpack

Searched U/U/G and ended up in FBW/Collectors as quarksman with an EDI bot, HFE, and a Smashguard. Team was hopeless. I had the 15 revives by wave 3,  the HFE (who wasn't doing anything) ragequit, and it seemed as if everyone else was out of gels by 5 or so because they kept bleeding out. Then, the Smashguard starts following me around everywhere like a lost puppy. I guess he was out of gels and just decided to latch onto me to survive and help me carry him. Other than the screenshake, It actually helped a lot, as I had been nuking spawns with rockets to make the game easier/faster and ran out just before 10, only to get targets. He gave me a few revives, including a crucial one after I got blindsided by a buttlazor while trying to take out the 3rd target with no gels left.

He then got eaten by a crab so that I could make extraction. RIP :(.

Totally not Edong: I more than doubled the score of the other 3 pugs combined

Aaaaaargh!@@@@!@!@@!@!!
Was doing scimitar and brought the gi. Started a lobby and 2 complete slack offs and a decent guy joined. The decent one dc
And i had to carry wave after wave. I swear those twits stopped bloody trying after seeing i could clutch. They just run to a spawn and die. They didn't try hanging on as 5 secs later they're dead. A flamer trooper joined and he clutched just after i died and was out of gels. He spent all his consumables. Next wave we are all dead.
*sigh*
I feel better now
