AimingIsOptional
I think I've found my perfect lazy setup: the Batarian Soldier, built for inferno grenade cheese and ballistic blades, with a Venom.
I mean, you don't even really have to look at the screen. You just run up to the spawn, fire the Venom into it, use Ballistic Blades for a second stagger and...well, normally everything is dead by then, but if it's not, you should have another charged Venom shot ready. I'm honestly surprised I didn't get a killstreak.

RETARDED!!!!
I was enjoying a platinum match when I noticed 2 players left & the 4th was just standing there looking at the ground. Then one of the guys that left came back in & immediately left again. I didn't feel like soloing platinum so I just let myself get killed.
I'm always the only player NOT right smack in the middle of all the enemies. Is it really that difficult for people to understand that standing out in the open where you can get shot from all sides isn't a very good strategy? I feel like I'm the only player that knows that walls block bullets.

Melee
Dropped into a lobby and thought I'd give my N7 Shadow a spin. Don't know what happened but when we spawned in, the original guys were gone. I ended up the host with 2 Krogan Vanguards and a Krogan Soldier playing Cerberus, Condor, Gold.
I was doing really well Shadow Striking everything, but with all the Krogan meleeing going on I couldn't resist joining in. Went down a few times but it was heller fun meleeing everything with my itty bitty Shadow along side the Krogan.
I think, from the headbutt party between waves, that they enjoyed it too.

Embarassing.
I'm usually more of a survival type; stacking shield regen and the like. "If I spend less time in cover, I kill faster." Anything that can stack shield regen is among my favorites, so things like Krogan Soldier, N7 Destroyer, Geth Trooper, Any Vanguard (one power is all it takes) etc.
Well, I decided to start getting back in the knack of playing fitness-less builds.
Drop into a match with the Human Male Engineer. With an actual good team. I died the most and had the lowest score (though to be fair I had chain overload detonating a paladin's snap freezes like it was going out of style.) Disconnected on wave 11 after a lagspike where the combat log looked like I got a killstreak after I died, that's how laggy it was.

I saw you were playing and joinable, so I selected "Join Game". As I was spawning in I realised I now had the BF3 Soldier with Commando Package. And it was Condor. At the start of wave 9. And I was being shot by Centurions. Didn't clock it was actually Gold until that third Atlas showed up in wave 10. Thanks for all the revives. At least I didn't die on wave 1 ![]()

ArmsRace
My QMI dropped into U/U/G lobby with a Krogan Soldier host. That's two grenade classes, but hell, it's only Gold, and I have no aversion to using Clip Packs when I run out of Arc Grenades. Besides, the Inferno Grenade/Arc Grenade explosions would surely be glorious. I got on the mic and told him my plan.
We got Geth/Reactor/NoButton
Wave 1, he didn't throw a single Inferno Grenade. Ok, fine. I'll go Rambo around the map and make better use of my spawn spam. Wave 3 was the hack right next to the LZ. I got Primed and went down. The TSent stood over me the entire time and never even attempted to pick me up. The Krogan Soldier wasn't even in the hack; he was off scorewhoring somewhere else. I checked the scoreboard, and sure enough, I was a full 10k points ahead of him, and 15k points ahead of everyone else, and it was only halfway through Wave 3. That explained why no one would pick me up. So this match gets an UNPRECEDENTED SECOND ONE-WORD:
Rage-Bleed-Out
Yup, I decided to Rage Bleed Out, and see what happens. Soon afterwards, the 3 pugs were all down at once, and I thought the game was surely a wipe. To my surprise, one of them gelled! And immediately set to work picking up the other pugs. Of course you know, this means war!
The rest of the game was spent racing the Krogan to the ammo boxes, to grab the grenades first. One time I was full but threw 2 away anyway just so I could prevent him from getting them. By the end of the game, I had 150k, he had 100k. The others were both sub 100, so I didn't pay much attention. They were insignificant anyway.
Back in the lobby, I got on my mic and made funny noises at him before I left.

Earlier today, I got into a progressing wave 7 g/w/cer and I see 2 of them already bleed to dead and the 3rd one sync killed. And just then I get a massive lag… lag is so massive that I was hiding behind a cover and I get the message that I bleeded out. Anyways, the mission is failed and I got kicked out even before I reach the lobby!!
We've all been kicked for failing to save the day when the first three in the game have already bled out.
On the flip side, the air of superiority one can adopt when one spawns in to find everyone dead, then makes the clutch and the game goes to extraction...oh, that's something special.

Wheezy. I asked him politely to switch to Push To Talk mode but the only reply I got was more laboured huffing. Sounded like Adam Sandler's Fatty McGee with a chain smoking habit. I was worried he'd black out and fall off his chair but he clung to life and played really well. Don't think I'll be adding him though...

Leaving a match with a rageq... sorry, I meant with style.
Geth, their eternal stunlock, Primes shooting through walls, all 3 Rocket Troopers shooting at the only cloaked team member (yes, me) at the same time, Hunters melee and power resistance (U mad, silly organic?*insert a Hunter trollface*) and otherwise annoying and cheating bs.
Of course it ended with the inevitable: after getting killed before I could even get up from being killed before, I ragegelled, took my rocket and blasted those cheating bastardos right to hell. Then I went on a rampage with the remaining rockets and left. And even now I'm still grinning, because it felt childish, but also sooo satisfying at the same time. ![]()

Geth are the easiest enemies by a long margin. You only need to keep your distance from them, don't let them come close. Don't rush towards them, let them come to you.

And so they did. But I think a rocket to the face makes us even.
(btw. I know, Geth indeed are easy mode-well, maybe not on Platinum- but sometimes, they can be such trolls!)

Hard-Fought (hyphenated still counts as one word).
Only had time for one game, we struggled, but it was a good group. Its pretty rare I end up spending all my medi gel, all my ops packs, all my missiles in a gold game. Everyone went down lots of times, but everyone also picked each other up (for the most part). There were moments we were all scattered doing our own thing, and moments we all rallied.
One thing I absolutely love about a pug, is the complexity that comes with trying to work as a team... and doing it silently. 99% of players have no mic, but... I kind of enjoy the silent teamwork which emerges with strangers. I love that process of trying to reconcile my knowledge of what should be done to succeed, with what actually needs to be done. Often putting me in uncomfortable positions outside my comfort zone. And all that is juxtaposed to my desires to work as a group, while also egotistically wanting to do well. All of those forces tugging at my every decision. Love it!

I got some lovely hate mail yesterday when I had to complete the wave objective alone, and afterwards immediately bled out. Ok, it was very obviously deliberate and I think that's what pissed them off, but these idiots wouldn't have made it past wave 1 otherwise.

"Backpains" (from carrying)
Rio/Geth/Gold.
I was a Volus Vanguard. Everyone else was a juggernaut. I got my 15 revives medal on wave 4. No one else had over 40k by extraction.
I was sporting a scimitar shotgun. I would NOT have been hard to outscore. Please go back to silver, PUGs >_<

I disagree. They're second easiest.
Easiest is reapers for having the fewest shielded units (Marauders and Banshees, that's it) and the most units who are not a threat except at close range. At a distance, Reapers only have Marauders (not an insignificant threat, mind you) Cannibals, and Ravagers to worry about. Husks, Brutes, and Banshees need to get close. Banshees are annoying but not a real threat once you know what you're doing, and Brutes are one of the easiest enemy types in the game to deal with. Banshees can be stressful, sure, but that's really the only "stress" Reapers bring to the table. Considering WHAT the reapers are, this is actually kind of comical, really. You KNOW they're only winning because of big death beams and not the ground forces.
Geth have significantly more range to them. Hunters use Shotguns, sure, but they DO have some decent range to them (If I see one is at close range and I start backing away, even a Drell with an Adrenaline Module III is taking a direct hit from their next shot. You need to sprint and round a corner) The only units that need to get close are the bombers and pyros. The Geth seem to have better AI than most factions as well, as they're more likely to group together as a cohesive unit (the only other time I see this, usually, is with Cerberus Dragoons sticking in pairs) which is actually a great nod to the lore and the networked intelligence thing, and I love it. The lack of sync kills makes them less stressful to fight against for a more close range character, admittedly.
Next is Cerberus. These guys just have too many options, and they're all good. Phantom shots just do way too much damage too rapidly, AND they have a sync kill, I mean come on. And the turrets? Why can't WE get turrets like that!? I mean, Cerberus as a whole are not unreasonable, but they ARE frustrating at times.
And collectors? All you need to know is the posessed Captains are deadlier than Marauders AND they can lock down your powers if you're not careful. And that's not even getting into how soft cover is useless against praetorians (Hide behind a wall? Unless you take cover with the button, you're still taking that damage. Bane of the Warlord, seriously) They're glitchy, prone to making the game freeze, and just... I really do have to ask if Bioware playtested them across all three platforms and not just on one, since they give my PS3 issues.
Ran's difficulty scale:
(Easiest) Reapers - Geth - Cerberus - Collectors (Hardest)

Now I'm imagining a volus with three juggernauts hauled on his back, sweating and cursing
It's a rather amusing mental image.
Seriously though, that sounds embarrassing. What were they doing, HMing all the time? Or not HMing enough?

Would they be dying if they heavy meleed?
SIEGE PULSE SIEGE PULSE SIEGE PULSE SIEGE PULSE EVERYHERE!
I'd KILL for a puggernaut that actually gives one shred of a care about staying alive and drains anything ever. All I EVER see is them backed into corners and pulse spamming until their dying breaths - err - calculations.
They also never once dropped a shield or turret - didn't want to waste their precious pulse cooldown I guess. I don't even remember their levels, for all I know maybe they had 6/0/0/0/0, which would explain a lot. Well, okay, I think one had Squad command going, so he had at least 1/0/0/0/6.
I've gotten my 15 revives medals on wave 1 of gold from 3 puggernaut teams, or on silver at ALL in a puggernaut duo >_<
EDIT: But yes, it is an amusing mental image. I quite enjoyed it, myself ![]()
EDIT 2: May as well point out that the mathematics of this outright baffle me, for the record. I mean, look how tanky juggernauts are. Even at 0 points in hardened platform, they still total 3000 (1000 health, 2000 shields) points for the enemy to tear through. 1000 (500/500) is a more normal base, you know? I really do think they just do it to try to look like they're doing something, while trying to die to bleed out for easy leeching. It's really the only explanation; hence why they try to get cornered, to make it harder to revive them.

Well, I may presume too much, but... did they at least have an ammo power equipped? Siege pulse isn't so bad, if you remember you can detonate stuff with it... of course, by what you told me, that doesn't seem to be the case with your puggernauts.
And my experience is much different than yours. Mostly, I see people HMing the everlovin' excrement out of everything. Granted, they manage to stay alive most of the time, but I mostly play on Silver, so that may account for that. When they start hitting siege pulse though, yeah, they are pretty liberal with it.
If I find a decent artist, I may just commission an art like that ![]()

Presuming a pug will even OWN a GEAR bonus is presuming too much, from my experience >_<
99% of lobbies I enter, I immediately NOPE right out of. It's that bad.
EDIT: Okay, maybe not 99%, but still easily 80%. I can spend a half hour trying to find one game with people who actually don't have completely idiotic loadouts (Claymore + Javelin on a Human Engineer, for example) and actually have gear bonuses and ammo bonuses that don't interrupt their powers (lol biotic explosion specialists with disruptor ammo, for example) And of course, things like Infiltrators without a rank 6 cloak bonus for snipers insisting on sniping (TGI, AIU, Huntress) insisting on sniping is another one I've started noping away from.
EDIT 2: Corrected some weird typos. Sorry. Keyboard issues >_<
