Coincidentally that's how many Plat extractions I have too (10 on Xbox and 4 on PC). My claim is that I'm the worst player to have extracted from Plat.

Just do it. Get your level 4 Human Adept, equip the Avenger with Explosive Rounds, add MediGel Transmitter and search UUP. It's what everyone else does.

Hahaha.

To be fair though! A fully leveled Human Adept is one of very few kits that can still be reasonably effective with an explosive round Avenger on Plat. So long as the player doesn't shoot the gun at all that is, hahaha.

TunnelVisionedPugs.

Srsly pugs it's to be expected at later cerberus waves phantoms are gonna sneak up on ya when focus firing an atlas.

My Cerberus ****-list priority:

Phantom > Engineer > Dragoon > Atlas > Everything else.

You see it under the Squad elite challenge, it shows how many you have done (X/25), if you have more than 25 you won't see those anywhere though

Running dry on my "like" quota is the bane of my existence today (which would not be a problem if I had been sleeping for the last 6 hours like I should have been.)

I thought it was probably something like that. The best I could do would be to guess. It's probably around 70 on Xbox and 30 on PS 3. And about 80 % of those are because of KJ.

The only other possibility I can think of is to check platinum waves completed under map mastery - but remember that they are re-set to 0 for all maps you have reached 100 waves once the map mastery requirements have been achieved.

Edit: Wow. My N7 HQ hasn't updated since May 20, 2014.

When I look at your N7HQ it shows that you completed Praetorian Points 3 at 8:10 this morning.

You're right, it does. Oddly, all the windows have a field on the top right that says, "Last Updated 2014-5-20 20:10:14 GMT."

My N7 HQ is a time/space anomaly. The Reapers are probably using it to invade.

No. Noooo. No. Not even close. I suppose this is the right thread to go into detail.

Cue wavy lines, or possibly someone strumming in a harp...

The one word: hour

Some of my earliest, if not first, platinum extractions were during the final weekend challenge (lodestar). part of the challenge involved extracting against every enemy type on platinum, and as completing this earned you an extra N7 weapon upgrade I was very keen to complete it.

At this point even gold was relatively new to me. I could get through a pug gold with a TGI saber, and usually top the board unless someone else really knew what they were doing, but any other kit on gold and I'd be struggling, so platinum extractions were a tall order.

At the time Rio Reapers was pretty popular on platinum, and due to the challenge pretty much all you could find in pugs was rio with various preset enemies. I was lurking on BSN at the time, but wasn't brave enough to join the groups offering help completing the challenge and resolved to make do.

I couldn't quite bring myself to hide out in the box of shame for entire games, so I took the Ghost and lurked by the second ammo box in the small alcove in the crates. I could then spend the games picking off the mooks and phantoms, leaving the bigger stuff to gather round the box. If I went down I had to gel as no one was going to leave the box to help, but with stims, cloak and a healthy dose of craven cowardice I didn't go down too much, and the extractions against Geth, reapers and Cerberus went well, if slowly.

It all went to pieces against collectors. I doubt many people have tried the box of shame against collectors but it's a pretty bad idea. The praetorians are bad enough, but if a possessed abomination reached the box then there would be nothing left except a fine paste at the back of it. The pugs were quick to gel, and I tried to get back if I could although they'd inevitably be surrounded. But by the last waves they'd start bleeding out, and I had to clutch.

By some miracle we did the wave 10 objective and reached extraction. The pugs had enough sense to stay near the box rather than hold extraction, but sadly I got myself synced on the mad run for the LZ with seconds to spare. Partial extraction after over an hour of struggling, and I didn't get any closer to completing lodestar, but I had to laugh. I don't think any of us were even ready for gold, let alone platinum, so we were easily the worst players, and the worst team I've ever seen extract.

Tldr: box of shame vs collectors is painful.

Nah, it's the 2014th month of the year 2020. The reapers have invaded, mistook our species for chimpanzees, and left.

Chore.

When two people both score over 110k while the other two score 30k combined, that's a good indication that it's a slog of a game.  Geth/london/gold and we wiped on wave 10 because the last objective was in the middle of the map and I ran out of gels.  The upside was I got to watch the absolute worst misuse of a fury that I have ever seen in my life.  Barely any powers used, they stood far back from everything and sniped the whole game.  I'm assuming they just unlocked it and had no idea how to use it, but goddamn was that sad to watch.

You just summed up my AVERAGE game. *sympathy hug*

My last Pug in one word:

NOPE

Cerberus/Hydra/Gold. I... I ... I broke 300k points. On Gold. In a team of 4. HOW IS THAT PHYSICALLY POSSIBLE!? I mean, I get that it's MATHEMATICALLY possible, since I've had gold games where all 4 players managed to break 100k, but... You'd think that THREE other players would be able to contribute enough to... you know... at least get me under the 300k mark!?

200k is a rarity for me, so this match just blew my mind with the sheer "DO SOMETHING, PUGS" aspect of the whole thing.

Special mention:

AGarciaMD

We ran a UUP a couple of days ago and even if the lobby was public nobody else joined.

We rolled White/collector/Plat, Me with teh Assari Huntress /CSMG-acolyte and he/she load up with a BoVolus vanguard with Reeaggar.

It was a though game but we stick to it untill full extraction. Good Duo. I had only to solo one wave because he got stuck and submerged by enemy while I was able to sneak away... It felt like I abandoned him but I avenged him instead!

Wow!

Actually, I seem to remember that we discovered that as long as 1 player successfully extracted, it counted for all four players, even the ones who didn't make it. I believe, in the end, that it actually turned out all you needed was a "Mission Successful" screen, so that even if no one made extraction, as long as one person was still bleeding out when the timer hit 0, everyone got credit.

It was a year and a half ago, though, so I might be mistaken.

Little known secret:

There was a personal reason that I started a group with a big database for helping people complete "Lodestar." Back in early 2013, I was one of the most vocal proponent of restoring the old, really hard Challenge Weekends from the early days of ME 3 MP. I made a few threads about it, myself, and was basically all over any threads that other people made about it.

Oddly, this resulted in a temporary reputation that I had almost completely forgotten about. For a few months, a lot of BSNers referred to me as one of those "elitist Spectre-types." At the time, I didn't even know what Spectre was, and I was just learning to play Gold. Just in case the truthiness of my scrubbiness is in doubt: at that point, I was still using a Carnifex with a... I can barely type it... scope on it!  :pinched:

So... when Lodestar happened, and I was sort of the (surprisingly often-maligned) spokesperson for making the Weekend Challenges difficult, I felt I bore a certain responsibility for the extreme level of the challenge (Platinum had never been a requirement of any of the challenges in the past. I think only a couple of them had ever even required Gold exctractions.)

The problem was that I had only played Platinum once, and was not exactly in a position to help people get Plat extractions directly. My solution was to make the database to help players connect with others who were much more capable of carrying them through Plat than me.

And just to add to the cachet of this story, I was openly and repeatedly recommending that newer players who were having a hard time finding BSNers to help them team up together and use Juggernauts on Giant to make getting their Plat extractions easier. It's a wonder I wasn't lynched!

Collector/Condor/Gold, trying out SI/Valiant for the first time - I like the re-load speed and rate of fire but even at VI it feels way to week compared to the BW.

There is this low level BW sniper that ends up last with a large margin - I switch over to platinum and find him in the lobby, quick exit on my side to say the least.

If you say so.

Yep, I do say so. :)

If you have 4 reasonably competent players, then finishing the mission in under 20min is as good as done. The only problems preventing this are: 1. Lag/connection issues, 2. players who have no business being on gold/plat with their current gear or 3. a troll actively trying to sabotage the mission.

The game itself is no challenge, all the enemies are predictable and you usually bring more damage than necessary to wipe them out. Which is why it is possible to solo gold/plat. One player doing the job of four, just to find a challenge. That's how easy ME3MP is.

Hazard Dagger/Cerberus/Platinum with Drunkingzombine (I think he spells it that way?) and a good Juggernaut. We start the game with 3 ppl, after a few waves a new player joins with his mic left on, I get the impression he's very new to the game (he's sounding really really excited and is talking to himself non-stop) "Damn don't leave me guys" and "ohnononononono" everytime he goes down.

Partial extraction (our excited friend is eating dirt 99% of the game), turns out he was n7 19 with no CP.

But a good game and it kind of reminds me a bit of how excied I was when I started going into ME3 MP - good game!

Bucker and I picked up two Gold pugs, and got White/Reapers.  I was using a Level 1 TSent with an Incendiary Ammo Tempest.  Up until Wave 9, I was a solid 2nd place on the scoreboard.

Then it happened.  The entire internet decided to be an *******, and shut off for 5 seconds.  When it came back on, I rebooted my Xbox, and tried to rejoin the game.  While loading in, my xbox froze.  Power down, try again.  It successfully loads the game, but now I can't join in progress.  Bucker sent me an invite to the game, and after 52 loading screens, it told me the game was full.

On the bright side, I get to pwn with a level 1 Tempest TSent 2 days in a row, because CP

TUUUUUUCHANKAAAAA!

Wasn't technically my last PuG but the one before and it wasn't even on Tuchanka (Reactor/Hazard) ... but I got dropped into a GiP with some (possibly) Spanish guys who were chatting away, whilst using a Krogan Warlord - and in the team already are a Krentinel and a KroGuard - hearing heavily accented laughs and "TUCHANKA" over the mics made the game for me :)

One failed wave 9 Platinum, one successful full extraction Platinum, and one (comparatively to what I played before) easy partial extraction Gold..

All in all, a pretty good result.

Goddess, a Duo!

Purp and I were feeling in a generous mood, so we decided not to kick our lvl 12 gold pug (N7 Slayer complete w/ Adas package) when we brought him into our plat game (I mean, he was looking for a gold match). Anyway, U/U/P gave us Goddess vs Reapers and things went about as expected. After clutching several waves in a row, we finally made wave 10 - and by the goddess the randoms started playing better.

Who knew that we'd end up with a full extraction? I certainly wasn't counting on it, but...

I'm not sure whether I'm alone in my opinion but I don't care for the Harrier. I never use mine, too little ammo.

Okay I fixed it.
