Statuenaut.
TL;DR warning in advance, cuz I just can't cut this down into a few sentences. :/
Load into a UUG lobby with 2 other players with fairly high N7s and CPs--one a fury, the other a jug. Fourth player is a krogan shaman who I'd just played with in the last game who'd spent more time on the ground than on his feet and was clearly a beginner, but I figured the other 2 plus me were probably good enough to carry him (not that it really matters to the story, but I'm playing a batsol w/ a harrier).
So the game starts, and it's condor/cerberus. Wave 1 goes by no problem, but early in wave 2, as I'm running thru that lower area by where you first spawn in, I see the jug is just standing there, near the entrance to the intersection and sort of tucked in by that turian shelter thingy with its hex shield up. I look at it for a second, then--because I hate the damn things--destroy his hex shield (just out of principle). Come back later in the wave, and he's still there and the hex shield is back up. Destroy it again, and then again near the end of the wave. (I didn't notice this person in wave 1, but I assume they were doing it then, too, since they were stationed so close to the initial spawn point.)
Wave 3 starts and it's a pizza delivery. The jug actually comes out, grabs the first one (it was pretty close to their campsite), delivers it, then goes back to their previous spot and behavior. I take the second pizza, and after the newbie krogan bleeds out the fury and I clean up most of what remains, with just an atlas left, up near where the vehicles are parked. Since it's mostly quiet for the moment, just for fun I go over and stand beside the juggy, facing in the same direction, trying to figure out what it's staring at that's so interesting. A minute goes by, then 2, and maybe 3. He keeps putting up the HS, and each time I immediately shoot it to bits. I think the fury figured out what was going on (I'd seen her standing there staring at the jug in the previous round, too), cuz she didn't bother with the atlas for a while, either, then she finally ran over and let it grab her. So it was just me and the jug left to deal with it... and at that point I quit the match. "Bye--have a great time!" Wonder how it turned out?
The crazy thing is, this player with the jug looks like they're actually pretty damn good. 3400-ish N7 and 12k-ish CPs, plus they've completed the lone wolf challenge. So they clearly don't have to leech for credits. The only thing I can think of that makes sense is that they were dealing with something in RL on their end and not really able to pay much attention to the game. But in that case if whatever else has your attention goes on for more than a wave or 2, have the decency to quit and let someone take your place who's going to be able to help the team. Especially on gold, and especially when one of the other 3 players has 325 CPs and is using a Mattock I with no equipment. I don't even care if you're the host and we have to wait thru the host migration and re-start the wave. I'd rather go thru that and pick up an active teammate than do condor/cerberus with one other (squishy) teammate while trying to cover for a should-still-be-in-bronze krogan target and someone who is afk for who-knows-how-long.
In hindsight maybe I was kind of a jerk (especially if they tried to explain themselves over the mic, but I couldn't hear cuz it's late and I have the sound turned down very low), but my 2 previous matches hadn't gone well--for various reasons--and I just was not in the mood for whatever this juggy was doing. :|
So if either the fury or the krogan from that game are reading this: I'm sorry. If the jug is reading this and you had a crying baby, small fire, or other emergency on your hands or something, I'm also sorry, but by the time it got to the start of wave 3 you really should've just quit the game (and also found a better hiding spot that wasn't in such plain view of any enemies that might wander by)...
