[Marksmad is waving goodbye]

First

 

Sleepless night, bumped into DrChcknwng online and set up our first ever game together. Got 2 pugs as well, one of them highly competent. Apart from a random disconnect from the servers, some fairly mad games ensued, almost lag free, which was pleasing because Europe/China. Both of us got A-bombed by our own drones/turrets at various times too, which is always a bonus

 

 

Another first

 

Later, happened to see Kouzrah online and managed to persuade her to come back to ME3 for a game. She even brought her pink Crusader GI. We got two quite weak pugs (and by weak I mean they scored even less than I did) who nevertheless participated fully, using gel and missiles, doing revives, and playing really hard. It was tremendous fun and Lone Survivor Kouzrah has promised that our sacrifice will be remembered in the coming empire. Also, she A-bombed me. In our first game ever. How cool is that?

 

 

So, two first ever game session with two fantastic BSNers, great games and thank you both very much

Close..but No Cigar...

 

i dropped into a Jade/Reaper/Gold match....with all three teammates showing pink skulls ( i stated before that i love these types of scenarios) I think it might have been wave 3, but i cleaned up the mess and it was a tough battle all the way to wave 8. There was two pugs that was absolutely horrible...these two guys were dying at the very beginning of every wave and barely gelled. There was only one other guy that was half-way decent and he was an Asari Huntress. I already had to clutch waves 5,6 and 7....that is an accomplishment for me, normally i'm good for about two clutches and that's it...

 

So here we go to wave 8 (not sure what it is about wave 8) but the whole squad flatlines and i have to clutch....wave 8 of any faction is just really intense and it just seems like that wave 8 is when the game starts to really turn up the heat...so anyway i'm kiting enemies around and avoiding annoying Banshees and dodging Ravagers trying to hit me from across the map. 

 

As i'm kiting and killing stuff..i'm assuming more enemies started to phase in as i'm kiting the map...this leads to two marauders and a Brute walking together blocking my path as i'm kiting a Banshee breathing down my neck.....i try to take out a rocket to clear the path of the brute and marauders only for my phoenix to want to hug a wall for some reason.... ....so i end up getting snatched up by that banshee and game over.......that wave 8 continues to terrorize my clutch attemps...

Wave 8 gold rippaz is a tw*t - the Marauder budget seems to be huge.

 

Wave 8 gold Geth is funsome!

Wave 8 gold Collectors is awesome - because Collectors.

75 kills medal.  20 headshots medal.  75 shotgun kills medal.  3 kill-streaks.  Just as the last enemy in wave 10 was about to fall, "you have lost your connection because Origin went offline".

I love playing matches with Hack all the things. Pugs slowly learn to trust the glowing enemies.

But most just kill it instead...

I generally don't intend to host anymore. I know I don't have a great connection for hosting, so I avoid it, but the system loves to designate me when I search for specific combinations. Then it becomes a question of which is worse, dropping the lobby or gambling on connectivity (my host isn't universally bad, but it does seem like > 50%  of other players have noticeable issues).

Goddess/Unknown/Gold goodness. I love wave 10 hacks on Goddess against Cerberus. Really. 'We' completed the match. I like to think that the Turian chose not to save my Vorcha because Vorcha are scum, but it's more likely because that extraction turned into a cluster somethingorother.

 

That lobby dissolved and I searched for another... ended up hosting Goddess/Unknown with my Vorcha soldier again (I was looking to repeat Rebellion mastery). Never seen two Juggernauts and a Krolord struggle so much with Geth, but between Geth stagger and my host I can't say I was surprised. Still managed a full extraction.

 

Finally found a host for my last Goddess match. Was lots of fun with my Krolord vs. Reapers (my Krolord build is geared for Reapers, so that was a pleasant surprise). It was effectively a duo with a Juggernaut; the other two players had potential but lacked experience, demonstrated by their attempt at camping extraction. They wouldn't have had a chance in the last minute if the Jug didn't move to support them -- I would have helped, too, but I didn't realise their 'strategy' until I was spectating. Someone extracted, which was all I was looking for.

Been getting into games where the 2nd guy uses rockets to get ahead of me in 1st place. Tbh I don't even care anymore. I should be proud for the fact that I hold 1st through the majority of those games without rocketing spawns or barely even using rockets at all.

U/U/G => Condor / Collectors and thanks to Condor join glitchiness it was a trio; the surprising bit was how well it went - plain sailing and full extraction, nice!

This was the first time I have ever dropped into a PUG that was modded.I didn't recognize any of the names,but damn it was fun.30+ enemies on the map at once.However we didn't extract because the game froze up on wave 10 for some reason.

Reapers/Gold/Jade.....i will try to keep this short and sweet. Wave 10 trying to clutch killing off the last banshee (everybody else is flatlined). So you know where you first start off on jade? Well if you go down the steps and make a left you will see more steps going down to the lower level and a small opening for that small area on the right (this is where the banshee was)

 

So again starting off from where you begin on jade (extraction zone) if you go down those steps and make a right there are some steps there also leading to the lower level (this is where i was, at the top of those steps)...now how in the world did that banshee make me moonwalk all the way from those steps into her sync-kill?.... ....Unreal...

Put a Kishock on huntress because I'm hunting for Sniper Mastery. Turns out to be an incredibly fun setup. All DOTs pile up nicely and the ignorance of armor mitigation makes sure everything dies quickly.

 

Anyway, rolled up white/reapers/gold, with flamer trooper, AIU and justicar. As one might imagine, the match was as balm for my huntress, as everything died quickly to combination of warp+DC+bleeding damage. Got hugged by banshee on wave... eight, I think. Luckily, the PUGs managed to clutch the wave, though there were a lot of medigels wasted before that happened. Luckily, the AIU remembered to finally use the missile, elsewhere this might have ended differently. After that, we managed to get to extraction, but I was once again the lone survivor and best on scoreboard. E-peen elongated successfully.

 

I do believe I'll keep this setup for a while. It proved fun and effective.

U/U/P ends up being Cerberus/Condor/Platinum. Not sure there's a worse enemy/map combo. Plus, two of the PUGs score a combined 60k. The result was a Wave 10 wipe and I'm surprised we made it that far

Unusual builds


As in, unusual builds on my part. First, I used my new Spitfire AIU. Next up, I used the more-known Excecutioner Pistol Destroyer. People I played with, started to call me out on it. They asked me what the f*** I was doing, but soon saw I was doing fine. Fun games. If anyone of those matches visits here, please know it was fun for me, and you guys were great.

OT: Teamwork

 

I joined a lobby with DA, justicar and kroguard with my smashdept. It was preset to jade/collectors. Already had a good feeling.

 

Initially, there wasn't any coordination but after wave 3, we started to work together, and it resulted in lots of biotic booms. Nice 18 min gold game.

I hadn't played for two weeks  and in my last game I run into two dudes going on like "chatty kathys" who are pretty scrubby (even more than me). 

 

Anyway one guy says to me "Stop running away you a-hole and help your team mates". Translation -  "get back here and pick me up for the fiftieth time and waste whats left of your ops packs doing it".

 

And the other dude who was using a sex bot "I'm invisible!! Why are they still shooting at me?!

I feel your pain. After the match described up there, I went some silver pugging with my Claymore AA. We got wave nine wipe, once again, thanks to banshee hug of yours truly, when the rest of pugs were already dead. After that, the host sets it to glacier/reapers/gold. So I bring out the aforementioned Kishock huntress again. By the time I was so drunk I actually put AP ammo on Kishock. I PM the host, asking him to set map to giant and he changes it to... jade. I was like but went along with it.

 

In any case, after clutching waves seven through nine, we get pizza delivery on wave ten. I once again run into a banshee and once again, she hugs me... guess being dead didn't do anything for their libidos? Anyway, team fails shortly after and I decide to retire for the night, when I get a PM from host, saying and I quote, "you team gamer egoist :-[". I ask him to elaborate, which he fails to. So I draw conclusion that he was angry with me because I failed to revive his ass(he was a destroyer in that game), or any of the other pugs, with ravager shooting at me from across the map, two banshees chasing me, screaming lurid(and very disturbing) propositions at me and brute coming towards me, with an odd marauder here and there. I was like...

But I'm still not sure NOT having a mic is good or bad.  On one hand I could've given them a gob full or just laughed my ass off. But on the other, I might go a bit too far.

I get that some people like to use their mic to give important information to teammembers, and for the most part it makes things easier if somebody warns you about the scion sneaking up on you.

I hate these people who just yell random **** into their microphone or blast music through it for no good reason.

Tell me more. What kind of waves did you get? Do you remember specific waves that were insanely fun?

But I'm still not sure having a mic is good or bad.  On one hand I could've given them a gob full or just laughed my ass off. But on the other, I might go a bit too far.

 

The one reason why I don't have a mic is that I don't need everybody to think I'm even crazier than they already do.
