Nervous....
While i was in a gold/geth lobby i went to the store to buy some equipment, and also while i was there the leader changed the difficulty from gold to plat/Reapers/Giant. So when i come back from the store, i'm still thinking it's geth gold, so i load up my phoenix vanguard with disrupter 4 ammo and level 4 Power Amps (I absolutely hate Geth...so they get to feel my full wraith!!). Thing is i have never taken the phoenix out to a plat match for fear that i would wipe incredibly fast. To my surprise i played incredibly well with him and i only died twice....i guess it had to do with my support group as well that consisted of a Salarian infil, a Human Adept and a Turian something.
Normally for plat i will only take out my destroyer, but i was shocked to see that i played so well with him.
Tough
Duo'ed a Gold game with a Turian Sentinel on Jade against Cerberus. I was the Vanilla Human Adept. (I love Singularity).
Damn it was a tough game, with Objectives, Targets and then Wave 10 Hack. I was using my alt so I only had three of each consumable and I tried to save them for the last waves, but the Op's packs got used early thanks to those awful Phantom packs.
Wave 10 Hack was brutal, but we got it done. Barely. And then right at the end of the last wave two others spawned in lol.
We made the extraction with no gear left. Well I had none, and I think the TSent was the same.
If you're out there buddy, good game!

Haha...those types of games where you are completely out of consumeables all the way down to the final seconds feel well earned....any type of hack with Cerb is crazy because phantoms will hit you from across the map with those hand blasters and put you in the red quick and they can be really brutal when they couple up with dragoons jumping over a mile to smash you...
I have always had issues with 4 device hacks on jade and ghost. In some scenarios i ran into enemies camping at the last device, even after i've tried to kite them around the map.
Plaaaatinuuuum!!!
It's not everyday I get to play Platinum on Wii U. Great PUG team!
The worst lag I have ever experienced was actually a little bit cool. It made me immortal for a time. Everyone else died, and I was left to clutch the wave by myself. The match was a little laggy, but after about 10 seconds of soloing, it just ramped up to ridiculous level. I was synced by Phantoms at least 4-5 times during the wave, because I was using a Krogan and kept jumping all over the place. It wasn't even rubber-banding, because that would imply that I had been in the position at some point in the past. The game just had no idea what the position of my character was. I would be 20 feet from a Phantom, and then a blink later, I'd be right next to her with a sword in my gut. Every time, my Krogan laid down like he was dead and then got right back up. None of my shots did any damage, but I was managing to kill a lot of enemies off just by chucking Inferno Grenades everywhere. Finally, I teleported into a Phantom 10 feet away and stayed down.
I wonder what it looked like to the people in spectator mode.
That's almost exactly what happened to me, right down to the nigh-immortal Krogan randomly tossing inferno grenades. It was amusing to attempt to backhand an enemy, then suddenly teleport several meters away, only to watch as moments later an invisible force sent the enemy flying across the map.
Sometimes I could see some of the other pugs teleporting, or sometimes sliding unnaturally. And it did get better for several waves after one of them left, but then for extraction it came back in full force.
I almost never had to complain about pugs, but last run was the time ![]()
Worst than solo i guess, but still, i m more pissed at myself for not being able to carry
Burn_and_Crash
Random pug gold lobby, landed and the other three were readied and I was in a ready-for-anything mood, so I pulled the trigger and we went to Tuchanka where we encountered some Reapers. The first part was the Burn because I had an Acolyte GT and many Husks were crisped. The Jugg, Paladin, and Krosol were all playing hard as well and everything was fairly smooth including objectives. The only part that worried me was the top of the scoreboard: because it was me.
Then came the Crash. Suddenly at the start of W9 the KroSol was synced, the Jugg surrounded and taken down, and Marauders started spawning everywhere. The Paladin got himself surrounded in the LZ by 2 Brutes and a couple Banshees, and when I ran in through the back room and pulled out the Cobra to clear the zone, one of the Banshees teleported straight through the wall and insta-synced me. Game Ovah.
But actually it was a fun hard game. And the Acolyte with Explosive Rounds is pretty amusing, because of the extra stagger sequence, especially on Marauders.
Col...lectors!
Haven't played on PC since last year. Join a UUG pug lobby. Hydra. Collectors. And halfway through the game I wasn't even at the bottom of the scoreboard. So I knew the rest would be tough. We fully extracted, but there was both extraneous and superfluous rage rocketing.
I think I hate Scion stunlock even worse than Geth stunlock. If that were possible, anyway. It would be less annoying being downed in one hit than it is being hit once, unable to move, and knowing that the second shot will take you down even if you have a Cyclonic XXVII equipped.
Triplets
joined a gold lobby (U/Reapers) with three juggernauts all with Spitfire I's
I was Wraith FQE
They all had decent equipment on so I figured why not
went quite well, two of them stayed together the other basically stuck by me
the two that were together drew most of the aggro
the wave 10 four point proved to be easy for me with three Juggernauts on the map
two of the juggernauts didn't get to the LZ in time though
Competent
My last three PuGs were all reasonably competent, and fun. The last one was a game I joined in progress on wave 3, Cerb/Condor/Gold, and it took me a second to realise that there was only one other player -- no one else would join for the remainder of the match. We made a decent team with a Turian Havoc and a DI, used the map to our advantage (I find Condor one of the easiest maps to solo, albeit slow... full groups tend to be another story), and handled the objectives (devices, escort, hack) with little difficulty. I only regret that we didn't both extract -- I suspect the Havoc accidentally dodged out of the circle at the last second, as I was sure they were right next to me only a moment before.
Arse.
For any of you who know of Father Ted, you'll know how that word sounds in an aggressive Irish accent. I got bored waiting for a Reapers Gold pug, so I was browsing through my challenges and worked out that I was precisely one Gold Solo away from breaking through the imaginary 100K barrier. I know, I know, CP means nothing, but it's there all the same.
So, while it was a solo attempt rather than a pug, please allow me to share some of the pain here.
I'm not great at solos, and usually only use them as training or practice without consumables, frequently deliberately bleeding out on wave 4. I've done 13 Golds in total, mostly with the Krogans against Geth. For a change, I decided to go with a Geth Trooper against the Reapers on White. I had two ridiculous fails, too embarrassing to recount, but on my third attempt everything was going pretty smoothly.
Going into wave 10 I had 3 missiles, 4 gels and 5 ops packs left, so I was feeling pretty confident. I got the hack at the bottom of the stairs opposite the LZ, but the main spawn was close by at the bottom of the adjacent stairs. I got downed by a Ravager as I activated the hack, then twice more almost instantly as I got swamped. I managed to escape up the back stairs and ran around the map to regroup. By the end of the wave I had nothing at all left, but I got the job done. Great. Now all I had to do was run around a bit. As this was my 4750th game (on one account alone) you'd think I could at least manage that. Well, I did, mostly. Right up until a psycho Brute which was kinda camping the EZ made an extreme lunge at me with 4 seconds to go. Downed. Arse. I was literally a single backward dodge away from making it out of there alive. Never has a 'Mission Successful' felt so unsuccessful.
On a positive note, I didn't get grabbed, unlike the two previous efforts. And sod the Challenge Points, next time out I'm going headbutting.
Dagger/Collectors/Platinum, start the game with 3 players : 1 AIU and 2 Huntresses where I'm one of the huntresses. Both of them were quite good.
During wave 1 a 4th player joins - of course he's a lvl 1 HA with an Avenger. Amazing, he just don't understand that he's in the wrong place and just keeps going for the few seconds he manage to stay alive wave after wave.
Wave 10 we get devices, tough one but all 4 get's done but wipe after that. With an additional competent player we might have made it.
Those guys are so reported!
The sad thing is I don't even know who the greater offender is ![]()

Always good to read a war story well told.
Mics!
The stuff of legend on PC. My excuse is that I'm always listening to music and don't have a sound card.
Searched U/U/G, and heard "OK, now we just need another engineer," right as I drop into an Unknown/Geth with my SE. A pair of Juggies and a Saboteur, fairly low N7s. Might have been their first Gold match.
"All right! Here's one! He's BotB too! Aww, he doesn't have a mic though."
I punch 'ready'. "Nice, no f@*#ing around, just get right to it."
Map rolled Goddess. What followed was the most enjoyable ME3 match I've ever had.
"Don't come down here... oh f*ck." One of the Juggies goes down in the middle of two Pyros and a Hunter. I drop down the ladder, clear it out and pick him up. "Screw this, just gonna drop a shield and run." A large hex fills the entire hallway in front of me.
"Whoa, that thing's huge!" from the other Jug.
"I know, dude, isn't it nice?"
After I headshot a Prime while it's being double melee'd by the Juggs:
"Aaaand he's dead."
"Dude, did you get the kill there?"
"Nope. Man, you get nothing for assists in this game. I only got 200 assist points."
"Maybe you, dude. I got like 5000 points there."
"Whoa, really?"
"*chuckle* No."
"Josh, why are you so quiet?"
"Maybe his new headset broke already."
After I run past all three guys chasing after a target:
"Dude, this guy's pretty quick."
"Yep. SirGelzALot. Looks like a young whippersnapper. Hey there, save some for the older folks."
"*laughs* Yeah, probably a little 13 year old kid who's owning us. Got nothing else to do."
"Well, you know, at that age, they're going through a lot of, um, confusing changes."
At this point I was laughing too hard to shoot.
"Don't come down here. Oh no... oh, I've made a terrible mistake." Same Juggy, same spot by the inner ladder. I find him backed into a corner by a couple of Hunters, and actually score a double headshot with my Carnifex.
"Sweet, thanks man." I follow him outside and give him a friendly pistol whip. He stops. "Did you just melee me, uh, SirGelzALot?"
Give him another one, and start dodging in a circle around him. "Man, this guy's pretty nimble, dancing back and forth and sh*t."
Wiped on a wave 10 hack after I got destroyed by a Hunter from behind and stomped immediately. Never had so much fun losing.
THAT WOULD BE AN ECUMENICAL MATTER.
Saw a father ted reference, couldn't resist. ![]()
Seriously though, game was HORRIBLE. Hosting as a Turian Sentinel, Gold, Glacier, Collectors. Of my three teammates, the best was the Krolord that got sync killed in the first minute of every wave past wave 5. The worst got a sub 15k score...Then they all ran to the LZ immediately in wave 11. Waaaat.
Lured the swarm to the far side of the map, threaded the needle by a Praetorian, sniped a Captain as I ran by, and boom, Lone Survivor as I teabagged their corpses.
This thread is one and a half years old, why isn't it locked like the rest? Inconsistent Biower mods pls.
Hush! This thread owns!
I jst saw this thread on the main page and at first assumed it must be a necro that the mods haven't locked yet.
Obligatory Father Ted quote:
Mrs Doyle: Father Jack, what would you say to a nice cup of tea?
Father Jack: Feck off, cup!
Awesome...
Just to ensure this thread remains on-topic and isn't locked.
Hadn't played since before Chrimbo so was using a nice invincible kit for a few games - BatSol. The last game of the night was Collectors on Jade with the host using a Slayer, an awesome GI/Javelin and a newbie Asari adept with a Mantis.
Full extraction, under 20 minutes... not bad considering how often the Asari was dirtnapping ![]()

In my defence I was away visiting family over Chrimbo; it's tricky to play anything when you're at least 120 miles away from your PC!
Deja-vu
Last game for the night and I do a search and land in the lobby of my duo partner from the night before. I was the Human Adept, again, and he was the Turian Sentinel, again. lol I wonder if he chuckled like I did.
Anyway we ready up just the two of us, again, but when we spawn in there are two other players with us. Ah well. So much for the deja-vu.
It was a good game, even though it was against Collectors on Hazard Glacier, Gold. Pretty quick too.
