Ended up with Reapers/Reactor Hazard with a group of PUGs, and we got two center hacks. Do I really need to say any more?
I'll also add that one of the players may well have been a BSN'er, since they were doing a damn good job with Shuriken GI (scored around 100k). If they are on here, surely you understand- I couldn't help myself.

Surprise.
I joined a strong looking gold lobby with a couple Krogans and we got White Hazard Geth. Another joined on wave 2 but I never got a good look at them because Hunter Mode and Hazard White. Many Geth were smacked in the flashlight, incinerated, blown up, and gunned down. It was a group that really looked out for each other and picked each other up and no one was stomped all game despite all of us going down at some stage. The team even made double devices straightforward.
That's not the surprise. The surprise was the scoreboard - it had decent numbers, over 400k team total, no leeches visible. That's not the surprise either.
The surprise is that I was at the top. This has never happened. Ever. And it was the second time this evening. What on earth is going on?

dropped into a geth game on wave 1 (as Human Engineer)
things are fine until wave 3 (targets)
squadmates ignore targets, I kill them
wave 6 hack in the LZ on Ghost
2 squadmates decided to cover the areas immediately outside of the circle
one player all the way across the map is complaining about no one reviving him
with 35 seconds left and two squadmates dead the Juggernaut decides to get in the circle (just as the objective is completed)
wave 10 hack elsewhere
everybody runs from the hack circle, which I had to vacate twice because I got overrun by bombers
get that done with 10 seconds left
everybody dies and bleeds out on extraction, I get one shotted by a rocket trooper with 4 seconds left

Last UUG for the night threw Cerberus/Rio combo. My batsol joined a party of infiltrators... Shadow, AIU and SI.
Thirty five minutes and a second later, we saw us to full extraction. Many consumables were used, lots of grenades have been thrown and lot of revives have been tallied around the team. But against what looked like an impossible odds, we prevailed. Scoreboard saw AIU some 20k in lead, with the rest of us some 2k, give or take, between each other. With me in the last place, naturally.
All is well with the world 
I don't know on which platform you are and when you started your alt account, but on PC you get 2 "gift" packs which (I guess) both have a chance for a ultra rare. I'm not sure if both give you a weapon, i believe it's more a weapon and a character. Additionally you get a starter pack with common stuff. So in best case you have a lvl. II ultrarare weapon.The same amount of what the weekend challenges gave out, plus there are like 3 more bonus gift for newcomers, so yeah pretty much a shitton, enough to level two URs two X, if you're super awesome lucky.

All the platforms I've started an account on have done this, although if you get the Battlefield 3 Soldier(*) then he comes in a special gift pack in addition. Normally the standard packs contain a rare or uncommon character and a rare or UR weapon.
(*) As far as I can tel you don't need Battlefield 3, only to use your Origin account to log in to Battlelog.

The PUGs themselves were unremarkable. However I encountered a strange 'feature' on Hazard Giant, whereby a large central portion of the map - including much of the lower area - was blocked by invisible walls. Only for me, mind you; the other players, the enemies, and my gunfire were all able to move freely.

Join u/u/g with my destoyer. 2 phoenix vanguard and a salarian infiltrator. One van was new, but I figured what's the worst that could happen? Condor Collectors. 28 minutes to make full extraction with no rockets/gels.
Horrible
I drop into wave 2 Firebase Hydra/Collectors/Gold with Ghost with particle rifle. It was just a mess. A human engie with reegar and arc pistol. A newbie I'd played with earlier who managed less than 40k against reapers. Just low dps from teammates. Couple carries and 6 rockets get us to wave 8 with scions wasting everyone. I'm forced to run around trying to kite all the bosses which I manage to set up to take em out when host leaves. Comeback with only the engie. Rushes 2 scions and dies. I manage to revive him and he rockets a praterion only to die to another scion. I get swarmed so he opts to bleed out. I just let myself die as well.
Good
I had a fast game on Giant against Cerberus. The host was using the Slayer, I was the Human Adept. Two others joined after the first wave. A 'Chaman' Shaman and a Juggy.
The Slayer and I got some great synergy going and the Shaman eventually got the idea too. Biotic explosions everywhere. The juggy? don't really know what he was doing.
It was a nice hassle free game, well for a Cerberus one anyway. The host sent me a nice 'good game' text afterwards too.

Console peasant here. I don't know it was because my main account is "linked" to my alternate account, but I did get like 20 commendation packs besides the 2 "gift" packs.

I get that too, from time to time.
I believe it has something to do with lag and either the characters step/walking -animation not loading correctly (don't know if host- or client- side).
It mostly happens with the Destroyer, though -and only on Giant afaik.

playing the Juggy in silver just to finish Geth Turret use got the 7% I still needed
now tech mastery is almost mine again
Sad.
Joined a game, Collector, Firebase White and was doing pretty OK. Started on Wave 3 up until Wave 7. We had our toughest wave the last when 2 of us went down but we cleared it. Then wave 8 and my laptop overheated and hung.
