First time in over 1000hrs that I've played the Volus protector. Gotta admit it was fun even though it took some getting used to, but any kit works with the wraith.

I've been making love too long and too often with the Raider X...
I don't understand the phrases "too long" or "too often" in this sentence... Is this slang, or something? I mean, I understand what these words usually mean, I just don't understand them in this context...

Harpoons
A smooth HazGhost/Cerberus/Gold game with myself as a Kishock carrying QFI, alongside a Kishock QMI. How sweet. The family that whales together... gets separated by host migration. Oh, yeah, there was a Krogaurd and Assassin there too.

I am confused by your confusion.
Anyways,
Jolly Jovial God there're so many people with low N7/CP playing Gold nowadays it seems. I don't mind much if at the very least they equip something, but oft these are the not equipping anything variety, which kind of makes me go eeeeeeeh. I mean, it's fine if I use like Asari Huntress or AIU, but for kits like the Shadow I'd rather play with properly equipped people in Gold and above...............
Although admittedly playing with such people can be fun since it's so easy to get the highest score without even trying because I actually actively playing and paid attention instead of just snogging matches through.
Ah well, c'est la vie.

Hmm...
I enter a lobby to find preset Giant/Geth/Gold. A Paladin with Paladin I, Juggernaut with GPS I, and Volus Vanguard with Katana IX. They fared a lot better than I expected. The Paladin was good. The Jugg seemed decent (considering GPS I) - He wasn't spamming melee, and did plenty of offense with his Siege Pulse, although he did have an irritating tendency to drop a shield in front of my Kishock.
The Volus, well, I think all he did was follow the Juggernaut around spamming shield boost. Which meant that the Jugg never died. The volus did, but since he was always right on top of the Jugg, he was usually revived almost instantly.

Dire.
Last three pugs, all dire. I think the last one would've actually made it to extraction (unlike the other two - I gave up on the hipster kits and weapons and brought out the Drellguard Wraith)....but my connection gave out.
It's saying something when I'm finding Platinum to be more relaxing than Gold.

Duo or Duet
I only had time for the one game so I loaded up my Justicar and landed in a game in progress. It was London, Gold versus Reapers.
There was only one other player using a Juggy.
The Juggy wasn't bad at all and kept the agro away while I ran around and did the objectives, yet they were still putting out some good damage.
We made it to extraction and she (I think she was a grill) sent me a nice thank you after too.

Reapers/Giant/Platinum
Start it up with 3 players and a 4th join during wave 1. Unfortunaly one of the original players leave due to bad connection early one. After that it's a duo, myself and a Puggernaut (luckily he was really good) the 4th player who joined had 20k by the time wave 10 ends - he gets kicked right away in the lobby after extraction. There are times when I really wish there was also an in-game vote kick option.

Frenetic.
N7 Fury with the speed evolution on Annihilation Field *and* Adrenaline Module 3.
Gold, Hydra vs. Collectors.
I haven't played this class in months, so at the start of the match I could barely control her. Ended up getting bongo drum'd by a Scion. Whoops!
Figured out how to play and got a good rhythm: rush in to prime with AF, Throw for Detonate, empty Paladin clip into any enemies standing, rush out, repeat.
Throw'd a few Possessed Abominations away from people too. If they had been people I know I would've done the opposite, heh.
Also N7 Fury melee is super amazing looking. I should try a melee build at some point.

Turian Sentinel, what a guy - he crushed platinum collectors on London tonight. Keep your krogans, quarians and salarians, it's the turians that are the heart and soul of this game (well not counting the crutch ghost of course).

Lack of medi-gel use and just bleeding out by others gets old after several waves. I don't get the mentality of players refusing to use consumables. You're supposed to be there to fight. Not take a nap in the dirt.

Kroguard-mania!
Joined a silver where the kroguard was hosting. The guy really didn't need any of us as he did all the work and carried us all. Started out with a silver which was OK for the most part. Then he switched it to gold and I hung around for one more game. Clearly he did everything while I was struggling to get any damage in. Oh well, easy creds!

Me, Stephen and QMR caught up for a couple of silver Cerberus games with quarians... of course, I just wouldn't be healthy if I didn't troll the last game with switching to GI.
Fun games, all of them sub20. There were some pugs, but they don't merit mention, since most of them sucked.
QMR, stop being a greedy beeotch and leave some stuff for me to kill, ya hear me?!?
Next time, it's asari party!
Also, we totally need to drag Stephen into Gold... me thinks he be ready.

Trying to play as Quarian Female Infiltrator... I wasn't very good at it, I think.
I guess I'll just stick around with the Huntress for a long while. Got so many pistol/smg amps stocked up since I most often played around with Sniper Rifles and Shotguns with a bunch of Assault Rifles here and there, so I'll guess I just keep on playing the girl since her's Dark Channel powered up with Commando + Pistol/SMG Power Amplifier + fully powered Tactical Cloak + Power Amplifier III/IV is just ridiculous, especially when paired with high-powered pistol/SMG like Paladin equipped with Warp Ammo IV.
Oh yeahhhhh.
Playing with a bunch of low N7/CP again last night... it seems like Gold on PS3 is now mostly populated with such players. Ah well.........

To be fair, he didn't top the scoreboard, but he did devices and revived teammates while I was watching from spectator mode. I have strangely mixed feelings about this one.

It was a complete failure of self-discipline for me to fire up the game mid-week, but I saw you were back and didn't want to wait another day for our promised games :-) Yeah, asari party next time we're both on, haven't taken my adept into Silver yet.
And yes, fun games all. And the random number generator was quite kind when picking maps, with the exception of White Hazard. Hydra might be my most favourite map, I think.
I think saying that the pugs "sucked" is a touch harsh. I don't think I played any better than they did; put another way, if they played badly then so did I :-) The adept with an N7 of 19 in the Giant game would've _easily_ outscored me if he hadn't quit mid-game. I was checking the scores between waves and the gap between him and me was getting steadily wider before he disappeared.
Still, my QFI sniped some Phantoms and didn't get synced once, so I'll take that away as success by my standards!
And as far as Gold is concerned, oh heck no! How on earth could you observe my Silver-beginner-level playing and conclude that I'm Gold-ready? I'm still making rookie mistakes *coughcoughDragoonsbehindme* and the only reasons I wasn't dropping every five seconds were that you and QMR were carrying the games, and my quarians were popping ops packs like dextro-candy. I'm burning through those at an unsustainable rate and will run out soon, though that might be a blessing in disguise as it'll force me to stop using them as a crutch.
I'm not dependent on cyclonics any more, though. So that's an improvement from where I was a couple of weeks ago, before I joined BSN.
If you would like me to play Gold with you, you must first help me improve to the point where I'm able to reliably carry Silver. Don't hold your breath :-)

FellAtTheLastHurdle
Before joining Mordokai and Quarian Master Race for some games yesterday, I did a Silver pug versus Reapers. I need to do a few of these for experience in dealing with the multi-boss situations in the later waves.
Took my QME in rather than the turian sentinel because Quarian Master Race gave me some excellent advice on how to build him for maximum combo damage, so I wanted to try him out. And it's a True Fact that everything's more fun with quarians.
It was a pretty normal pug, really; just three of us, all doing our own things without anything one would describe as synergy. And on Reactor Hazard, too, ugh. All that said, it was a success: I didn't get synced once, and at no point did I find myself hemmed in by bosses without an escape route. Now I just need to try a few more times to prove it wasn't a fluke :-)
The extraction wave was a mess though. The top-scorer got Banshee'd mid-way through the wave, and I got grabbed by a Husk a metre out of the LZ with four seconds remaining on the clock. Of the two, I think my mess-up was the more embarrassing!
Bottom-scored, natch, but the scoreboard wasn't humiliatingly lop-sided and I think I made a reasonable contribution to the game.
Feeling less out of my depth on Silver than I was a little while ago.

The extraction wave was a mess though.
Most extraction wave failures are due to sticking close to the LZ. After a while you find out it is much smoother if you head to the opposite side of most maps and loiter until the 20-25 second mark. Then sprint back. A spare missile or two can be used to part the hordes if you encounter any.

I did! It grabbed me as I was making my way back, dawdled too long while shooting something else on my way...

It happens. Another thing that helps is learning to shoot while strafing. You standing still is an invitation to get grabbed unless your head is on a swivel. If you're constantly dancing about it cuts down on syncs a bunch. It's toughest while sniping but can be done. ADS when in close quarters is bad, too. Better to take the hipfire penalty then get munched on.
Most of the time I get synced when using the Justicar. I tend to run into their snatch (easy now...) range for bubble deployment and misjudge their grabby animation.
#10624
Posté 30 janvier 2015 - 10:52
Just one thing -- it wasn't a Banshee sync that got me, it was a Husk grabbing hold of me and delaying me long enough that I couldn't get to the LZ in time.
What's worse is that the same flipping thing happened again this evening! 'Twas an Abomination this time, but same difference.

There are no words... no curses in any of the many languages of the lower planes... no vocabulary rich enough... to describe how much I despise Collectors. As if all the bullshit they routinely engage in wasn't enough, causing my poor PS3 to hang itself with 45 seconds to extraction was the feather that tipped the scales.
So can we kindly agree to preset the Gold games to anything but Collectors from now on? Preferably Cerberus. I'll take Phantom's 90% DR over Collectors any day of the week.
Other than that, great games and thanks for the company you three(you know who you are). We should do this again sometimes.
Oh and, Raider Valkyrie rawks!
I totally didn't do her justice, but man, I can learn... this, I can learn.
