Scrubby - continuing to ease my way back into this game, but im struggaling with the controls atm. My aim is terrible and I was getting increasingly frusterated with my ops packs not working (forgot how bad they can be of host). I was playing with Dax and we were both getting trolled by Geth :| Still we got a full extraction so I guess there are some positives

Had two low peeps with level 1 and 3 weapons but I've come across a few who did very well with their powers even if their equipment isn't so good (they're the rare ones though). One's a jug and he equipped ammo and a shield boost. He struggled but he tried admirably. The other was a human soldier and he's the worst pea shooter, died a lot. Wave 10 and it's escort. The others went down because we were completely exposed to the Collectors. I fired a missile to clear the immediate area and I knew I have mere secs to rez the others because the mobs were popping right on top of us. I rez the one nearest, a mistake because it's the pea shooter. I dropped and he galloped off to get out of range. The only other well kitted out guy had to gel and I knew he's already down to 3 and his missile count was going to drop to zero. I was already killed by the scion so I could only watch pea shooter danced back in, died, died and finally died with a boot to the head. The sole survivor also went down. Wiped.

Got into the game, all three other players were down and it was wave 1 on silver. Then the host left?!

As I was still in the loading screen I heard "squad mate is down" but when I finally arrived I found it was Ghost Hazard/Collectors, Wave 1 and I was the only one there. With my level 12 Kroguard with level 1 equipment because I had just gone on a promoting spree and was trying to get back to level 20. And no one else showed up for the next 6 waves until I finally ran out of medigel and died (happily at least it was after I finished the objectives). I kept thinking that someone would drop in. But alas no. Since there must have been a host change at least I got to keep my consumables.

 

When I want to solo silver I'm pretty sure my first one will not be Collectors. And will have better gear.

Dusted off the TGI for a platinum game, packing Valkyrie and the head shot amp, and yeah he's still far to OP even with that load out.

 

It was a 3 man platinum, we had a complete beginner coming in (of course by default the search is on collector/platinum).

 

He left finally left around wave 7 and came back to the same game during wave 9 - dying instantly again.

Next game was cerberus on gigant where I switched to the Collector Adept (definately one of my favorite kits). Running him with the no swarm build and the CSMG, tons of fun.

I unknowingly dropped in on and ruined a trio that Smehur and a couple of other people were doing - on Platinum of all things. I had no idea you could join a private game. Oops.

 

I guess this was karma coming back to roost.

Sh!t happens. I once screwed a platinum solo by joining ex-clusum. I felt quite bad.

On the other hand - he finishes plat solos in times I would need a good team for.

I unknowingly dropped in on and ruined a trio that Smehur and a couple of other people were doing - on Platinum of all things. I had no idea you could join a private game. Oops.

 

The players need to make themselves invisible before starting to make this harder to do, but it's a bit of weirdness in the PC version. on Xbox (at least) one can set the game to public, friends only, and private.

 

The PC "private" setting corresponds to "friends only" and the PC doesn't have an equivalent of the console private setting.

Staggermen Pro MK II

Had a plat game with some friends where two of us played Drell Vanguards against Geth. He brought the Claymore, I brought the Venom, and together we brought the STAGGER!!

Poor Geth didn't know what hit'em:

1.Venom shot (incendiary)
2. Charge Venom shot
3. Biotic charge ------> fire explosion + venom shot (released with biotic charge) followed by additional venom shot, cluster grenades and flip away!

Contrary to popular belief... people are still playing this game. lolol. Hopped on the PS3 as my alter ego and had a bit of fun in lolbronze remembering how things worked. Then, the game trolled me by hitting me with my favorite combo; Hazard Ghost/Collectors. I trolled the game back by pointing at the difficulty; lolbronze.

 

Tried to get my Gold game on but I ran into those guys who shouldn't be in Gold. You know those two guys? One was a Collector Adapt with a Hurricane 1. The other was a Puggernaut. Geth/Hydra. It was never gonna turn out well.

I named my QMI after Colonel Radec, an antagonist/boss enemy from the Killzone series. For those who don't know the character, his signature fighting style involved using active camouflage and electric grenades that were basically identical to Arc Grenades. He also has a teleporter, which usually isn't a similarity he shares with my quarian Radec, except in the last game.

I had just promoted, so I brought him out with a single point in arcnades and 1 in cloak (actually still more powerful than most kits at level 20), pugged UUG and ended up on Collectors/London. The entire game can essentially be summarized by the point where I was teleported from the corner ammo box behind the Mako's and metal box back halfway up the staircase next to the LZ. It was like the host was Redjon on a PS3 alt. Scions were similarly flying around the map, sliding down staircases, and instagibbing me with a single invisible and unanimated cannon blast (must be L2p issues). At one point, a captain I was shooting walked right past me and floated off a cliff, only for me to be downed and hear the Collector melee noise about 2 seconds later

To add on top of this shitsandwich, after carrying the host and a couple of well meaning but obviously hopeless pugs through two hacks (including the dreaded center) to extraction, I disconnected on w11 with about 35 seconds remaining

I'm not entirely convinced I wasn't being trolled last night, as I was with a couple of low level but good players for a few games, during which time one of them kept loading up a Krentinel.  Under normal circumstances, I would have switched from the Justicar I was using, but this guy was using a Raptor, so, y'know, a bit of a pyjak.  He also pre-selected Giant on one occasion, but I was still just about happy enough to stick around.

 

The next game was set to Glacier Geth, and one of them had switched to a Fury.  Another Fury joined, so I switched, as did the Krentinel.  Now, apart from the fact that I died twice in the first 20 seconds of wave 1, but was thankfully revived, the game was pretty lolworthy.  Sadly, the other random Fury dropped out and was replaced by a Puggernaut, but there was still much boom in a very fast game, and probably even more enjoyable than the 4 Shadow game I once played, where a lot of time was wasted doubling up on Shadow Strike.  I also discovered that Adrenaline Mods are largely wasted on the Fury when there's a bit of lag, as the AF primer seems to take even longer to prime than usual.  Still great fun watching a Prime's armour melt with 3 Furys dancing around it.

Preset Giant/geth with a warlord. Started with the two of us, he bled out on wave one. People joined wave three-ish, went pretty well after that. Was fun, really.
