Fun

Not in the office today, so yesterday was a virtual Friday evening.  Thus, games

Quarian Master Race and I pugged Gold together.  I'm still not confident enough to pug Gold on my own, though perhaps it won't be long.  Did four games, one as Huntress with Crusader and three as QFE with Talon.  Three of the games went smoothly, one was pretty rough; it was on Reactor Hazard and ended up being a trio, we had one very inexperienced pug who didn't go the distance.  The other pugs we met were mostly good.

I didn't play perfect games (if getting backed into a corner on Reactor were an Olympic event, Britain would be guaranteed a gold medal), but was overall very happy with my play and had a lot of fun.

On a whim, I bought a pack of emergency induction straws through which to sip lemonade between waves.

Pugging plat on PC (because Xbox Live still has no EA servers) with my Acolyte Trooper, and landed in a lobby with a total of about 10k CP containing a Jugg, an AIU, and a Talon (with N7=28). I have no shortage of consumables on PC (and never will - thank you cra$h) so I thought something along the lines of "What the hell, maybe I can help them get wave 3 credits at least."

 

We got Hydra Geth, so wave 2 was very rocky, but after that the team came together. The Talon went down a lot, but we helped him up nearly every time, and he contributed as much as he could. We got pizza-escort-pizza and the runs were mercifully easy. (I don't think we'd have managed a hack or devices.) And eventually what I never would have guessed actually happened, and we got full extraction!

 

My score was about the total of everyone else's, but then I was using a kit considered borderline immoral by the BSN thought police

Sure, I was using one of my glitched 66666 kits(don't bother Marky, I'll report myself), Claymore huntress, whereas he only had his level 17 QFI. Sure, I only did it by about 1.5k points, whereas he had the triple amount of out score combined in the last match. And sure, he fried our assess in the reactor at the end of the hack... I assume that was butthurt talking But it was(mostly) legit.

 

But still... e-peen confirmed! Going to bed sober and proud of myself Good games you guys and thanks for playing.

After yesterday's games, the universe has realigned.  Played some good games (a couple of fun Silver duos with Mordokai, and a decent Gold on White Hazard), and some appalling messes.  Worst game was a disaster on Ghost in which my QME got Banshee'd about 47,000 times.

 

And sure, he fried our assess in the reactor at the end of the hack... I assume that was butthurt talking

 

I didn't realize that was QMR until they confessed by PM at the end, I thought we'd just been unlucky with the timing!  (I'll send QMR the bill for all the dextro-chocolate Lin'Kayviem had to stuff through her filter to make herself feel better after being betrayed).

Two high ranking PUGs trying to out-score each other with missiles flying around from wave 4.  I saw 3 consecutive missiles from the same guy in wave 11 to nuke 3 spawns in the same location.

I got dropped into a game where, as I believe I have before, where Cerberus is going faster than normal. Also, fun for me playing a paladin, phantoms seemed immune to melee when they were not on stairs. And there was an invisible turret at one point.

 

I can't believe we made it through the level 10 objective.

host was only one that could kill anything for most part, made it to wave 11, but after 20 secs it was over mission fail

 

3-5sec lag depending on wave and what part of the map you were in, rubberbanding/yo yoing used only 2 rockets never knew if i actually hit anythiing, phantoms sliding around like an ice rink Atlases were  um..

Dropped into Reaper White Gold with GI geth shotgun. My powers and consumables are blank and don't work (can't even get reload cancel). Back out and ended up on same game but with powers (end of wave 2). There was a demolisher, vorcha sentinel and turian soldier. The demolisher was at least contributing, though making poor decisions. The other 2 appeared to be allergic to gel. Wave 10 is pizzas and vorcha and turian die early but demo and I manage to get through. Wave 11 and the vorcha goes afk (guess I took to long carrying) and bleeds out.

Gold Rio Collecters wave 6 LZ hack. It was brutal. We must have used 10 rockets to barely hold on. Not much I could do against scions and prateorians with my phoenix adept.

I have a litany of excuses (not just the level 14 character) but won't use them because they're mostly L2P related ( w11 frame drops and advancing drunkeness, in case you couldn't tell from my dodgy reload cancel timing and derp kiting during a couple waves of the curry in the previous game). You rekt with that Claymoar in a manner that I would deem copacetic for a non-quarian, which is very high praise indeed.   

That said, I'd have done better If i hadn't spent the whole game camping the reactor button     .....or I'd have died from swarmers 20 more times. Probably the latter

Don't feel bad about the ghost game. Sol wasn't the only one with plenty of unwanted asari suitors. ​   I like ghost and thought it was a fun game, anyway. Never mind the occassional curry on a couple fluke waves as long as everyone is trying. 
 

As for the reactor incident.....much like her namesake Aeryn can be a ruthless bastard sometimes. If you hadn't gelled so fast I'd already spent a couple missiles in the intent of reviving everyone, anyway. Sorry Lin   . Won't happen again.....probably.....unless we get another objective in the reactor with at least 2 non quarians in the team.....greater good and all that  .

The aforementioned Claymore huntress joined a GIP(which was, amusingly enough, just starting) together with HI. The first thing I noticed was that he's carrying an incendiary Reegar. Cue groans from myself, since I once again didn't put on any consumables(I'm still trying to figure out whether this gal can do a solo, so I'm pugging without consumables). We were joined by what looked like Widow QFI and Indra TGI.

 

What followed was a proper display of asari/Claymore superiority to Reegar cheese. In the end, I came in first, outscored the cheeser by good 20k points. Hell, he even got ouscored by TGI I know points don't usually matter, but dammit, in cases like this, they do!

My original plan had been to do two Silver pugs: one QFI to complete the sniper medals challenge, then Huntress to complete the 200 waves challenge.  I landed in a competent GIP and did the sniper challenge without any problems.  As I was switching to Huntress for the second game, the host changed the lobby to Unknown/Reapers/Gold.

What the heck, I thought, I'll have a go at Gold without any BSN friends to help me.  This lobby will get me through.

It didn't go too badly, 'scuse the camera flash...



Messed up the extraction, it was the usual Giant obstacle course.  Even so, I'm very happy with that result.  But next time, I need to play as a quarian :-)

An elusive, wild Fiddles joined me for a PuG (naturally, I immediately blamed her for everything.)

 

We got London, but it actually went pretty well (pre-setting it to Reapers undoubtedly softened the blow.) Our PuGs were good, and made good use of rockets to get objectives done in critical situations.

 

Of course, we had none left for extraction, so only Fiddles made it out ('cuz Krogan.)

Russian Hosts twice in a row. Couldn't do it. Although I think I have a new personal record for banshee magnet hands, both in distance and the fact that I was actually completely 180° from her field of view. She stood in place and I was actually pulled from way behind her, around her right side to her front, then sync'd.

Headbutt !!

Joined a gold PUG lobby with 2 other Kroguards and a drell adept.  Ended up facing Reepahs on glacier.  With 3 Kroguards, there was much headbutting, until about wave 5.  Banshees began dropping each of the Kroguards; I ended up carrying at least 3 waves.  I also got sync-killed 3 times; L2P, of course.)  Still, it was fun running 3 Kroguards; lots of melee and headbutts!!

By wave 11 I notice I have a bit of a margin to no 2 on score - then the rocket feast begins. He nukes 5-6 spawns just to beat me. In the end he scores higher with 260k to my 256k.

 

But seriously, is it really that important to "win" on score that you have to go on a Cobra rampage on wave 11?
