Having played a few great platinum games tonight with three really good players as the Collector and Huntress I decided to take it easy for the last game and switch over to the Fury for a gold game.

 

Ran into what must be an irl imbecile, playing the KroLord the moron refused to help on any objective at all, just running around trying to melee everything in sight - to make things more hysterical the third guy a Pugernaut decided it was a great idea to follow the Krolord around as well leaving me to practically solo all 3 objectives.

 

Luckily I outscored the drooling moron and put a vote kick on him haning around the lobby shortly after extraction to make sure he saw it.

I was dropped into a Jade/Geth/Platinum game :/ We made it up to wave 10 and we had one device left... :c We ran out of time as our last surviving team mate (a squishy Asari) tried his/her best to complete the objective. It was a very unlucky game and the devices would spawn in the middle of the map. Stun, stun, stun... man, it was painful to watch that poor little Asari :c I got instakilled by a Phantom while trying to revive someone else. The three of us got flanked and killed.

I guess it was fun... XD We didn't get our wave 10 money, but it was a fun game.

Disappointing

 

Landed in a Gold game in progress, it was Goddess versus Reapers. Wave 3 I ran around and did all the devices, because no one else seemed inclined to. Especially a score-whoring, Harrier-wielding TGI who wouldn't do the devices even though a couple popped close to where he was. That seemed to set the tone for the whole match, no team synergy, no one using consumables, that sort of thing.

 

Wave 6 escort so I run to get it kicked off, but again no one else seems interested in helping, so about half way there, doing it on my own, I say 'f**k it!" and leave it sitting there. They finally get the message before the timer runs out and eventually get it done.

 

After that I just play the game like I'm doing a solo, but when I'm trying to clutch wave 9, because none of them will use a damn gel or rocket, and I go down I just bleed out. I'm not wasting my gear for those turds people.

@ Rane: Luckily those games seem far apart on my platform. But I did have an amazingly embarassing objective the other day. Got a hack on Reactor and was so used to it always being inside the reactor I didn't even check for its location. One other player immediately rushed into the reactor and stood there and I just followed blindly and stood there too for about a minute, wondering why the heck the other two weren't in the hack circle.

 

So, I see a '1 player hacking' and thought, well if they aren't helping, I'm not either and rushed off to the other side of the map to get some ammo. On my way, I finally see a '3 players hacking' sign and only then realized that all three were gathered on the top floor, just outside of the reactor. Oh my god ... I sprinted up there like nothing had happened and made it just in time for the hack completion.

 

Major apologies to whomever I was playing with, lol.

I feel for you, because (1) it's happened to all of us, and especially (2) it happened to me yesterday. Fell in a GiP, wave 6, Jade Collectors Devices, and we got the one in the valley of death and the one just up the steps that's got a perfect field of fire on it from the entire map. We actually made it to extraction that game, but I think everyone used all their gels, missiles and ops packs on that last wave 6 device.

Tried playing Human Engineer on Gold. Oh boy. I thought I'm good enough at the game to spam abilities in the right order, producing FEs / tech bursts all day long. What I didn't account for is that a) level 4 Incinerate / Overload don't create as powerful bursts as I'd like to; and b ) I suck at staying alive. Spent half the game dead. Don't really know how to avoid dying when I'm getting flanked all the time, and 2 shots from anything can pretty much kill me.

Upgrading my tech abilities to lvl 5 improved my damage output, but the second problem remains...

I'm not normally one for hanging around in cover, but I discovered how effective he was by accident on Giant, at the bit of the map where you can't get RHA when all the pugs camp the LZ.  I was dodging left and right, in an out of soft cover and accidentally went into hard cover just where the map opens out.  The enemies were coming down the ramp opposite, but I seemed to be able to cover every direction with a Falcon without ever leaving cover.  It might get a bit boring after a while, but it should help you get to grips with him, especially against Geth.  If you really feel like you need the extra fitness points, I would probably sacrifice two ranks in the Drone, but those fitness points are really just a placebo.  I have a different build for Platinum with the Indra, but the Falcon one is ideal for Gold.

Game quitting.

 

After i did a turian soldier carry of 192k (85k for second), I joined a Vancouver reapers gold with FQE. It was a buggy mess. Banshees teleports animations were missing. Brutes jumping on top of structures before leaping halfway across the map. I was trying to debuff with cryo-blast as much as a could, but sometimes it seemed like it had no effect. Occasionally husks/maruaders just popped into existence. And I don't think anyone was playing bad or not helping with objectives, and it still took 28 minutes to complete. So I leave the lobby and it ate my credits. 

 

So ME3 is uninstalled.

The Drone draws aggro away from you and helps set up Tech Bursts with Chain Overload - Atlases and Primes will focus on it, and all Geth will be distracted by it.  It stuns and does a reasonable amount of damage when it explodes in their faces, and can also be quite useful for helping you find enemies as you can always see where it has got to.  If you never play Geth it's much less useful, admittedly, but only a handful of people never play Geth.

In addition to what tywig said, if you spec the drone for shields and damage and take rockets at rank 6, it will kill a whole bunch of mooks and annoying stuff for you. Cast it behind a Marauder or Guardian to distract them and damage them while you shoot them. Cast it in a bunch of mooks and incinerate them one by one while the drone detonates fire explosions. Etc. And every time you need to run away, cast the drone as you go to occupy the things that would otherwise be shooting at you.

One last question: did you put Falcon here because it's a good weapon, or because it applies ammo effect reliably? Do I even want to prime my targets with lvl 1 cryo ammo instead of my lvl 6 Incinerate / Overload?

Primarily because it's a good weapon, which can be fired without aiming from hard cover.  It staggers multiple mooks and applies ammo powers to them - in this case tying in with the way Incinerate is specced.  I also thought Cryo would suit you as it slows the enemies as well as priming them, which is helpful if you're struggling on Gold.  Your cooldowns are so fast you will still be setting off your own explosions to your heart's content on mooks.

I can count 10WS pug games on one hand so it's always exciting when one happens. I'd usually censor the names but screw it, these guys deserve some recognition.

What started as a Turian duo (me as a TSol / Phaeston, with the host a very low-level Lone Wolf (alt?) TGI / Harrier 1) ended with the two Krogans  who joined on wave 5 making extraction in what was a ridiculously fun Gold Glacier Hazard game against Reapers.  We really shouldn't have made it out of there.  OK so I didn't but the mighty Krogan Warlord and Adept weren't to be outdone.  They had depended on each of us Turians soloing waves but were left on their own to run around for 90 seconds or so, which they managed quite nicely.  

 

Duoing alongside an Infiltrator, especially without a dodge, and a roving hazard, with what is really a glorified pea-shooter is quite testing, so I'm sorry my own solo wave took a while.  Mission successful though, thanks to a Krogan-Turian alliance.
