Huh?

 

I got a gold Geth/Condor game a couple of hours ago when I was playing on one of my alts. I had a very bad feeling right from the start as that particular combo usually has a lot of BS built into it.I always seem to be down to my very last OPS pack and gel on that map.

 

It was me, TSent with a measly Harrier I and drill rounds, a level 6 geth trooper, a Harrier TGI and an Asari infiltrator.

 

The game went so smoothly and quickly I had to double and even triple-check it was even Gold and not Bronze! And I was even more shocked to notice in the post-game lobby that I had come out first. With two infiltrators on the team.

 

I think I must have discovered a new Condor bug in effect ... The general rule being that moi always finish last, no matter what.

By that, I mean I joined up with a group that after every gold match, we would all switch the character we would use and, other than 1 where I got Phantomed by 1 of 5 phantoms that were chasing me, we extracted on all maps and I didn't have to worry about being swarmed from behind as we split into groups of two and began slicing through enemies with realitve ease.

Inspired by some recent threads, I decided to do a little PuGing today, starting with the Paladin.

 

I used Snap Freeze, but for some reason the game took less than 20 minutes. I must have done something wrong (shoulda' been Bronze.)

I was just taken down 4 times in a row by the same turret across 2 waves when it trapped me in a corner.

 

Feelin' kinda ragey.

That's my favourite type of games! I mean being non-inflitrator and doing all devices is fun? Right? Wait until dipshits start defending it and say: "But but you have more shields and health!"

 

...and when I'm the only infiltrator and trying to do devices, they cluster around me so I can share all the grenades, splash damage, stray fire, etc.

 

Pugs. You get grief no matter what.

 

Edit: I guess I should stay on topic, so when I switched to a Shadow the word became:

Decapitation.

 

Vancouver Collectors Silver. Lots of Abominations died without exploding that day. Only died once, trying to revive the only other infiltrator in the game. The other two did fine. Got the 50 Melee Kills medal so I had fun running around like the killer from an 80s slasher film.

Firstly nobody got stuck on the loading screen

 

Secondly it was pretty much a cakewalk with people using consumables wisely and not dying every 30 seconds

U/U/P Geth game on Condor (you all love this combination, do you not)? Wave 10, hack objective. We got TOTALLY swarmed and wiped at about 50% through the process. I don't understand how that objective can be possible on Plat. The only ones hacking by that point were the Geth.

I stepped out of the reactor about a second before the door closed, which was lucky as I didn't hear the warning message over the noise of the Striker > Fire Explosions I was lobbing everywhere!

 

I dunno, what's the world coming to when randoms try and shut you in the reactor! You'd think they were BSNers or something

Nah, I think of getting through the match first. If that means I help the others on the team, I do it. If it means letting them keep getting themselves killed because they do not pay attention to what's around them then I will have to clutch the wave.

Weird. Came into a Gold lobby with 3 already there, though none were ready at that point, and hit ready. Ended up Cerberus/Condor but only 3 of us were playing - the other guy just ran around the landing zone trying to avoid fighting. We got to level 5 with him still not helping apart from him randomly coming into res us all once but by then I'd stopped caring about the game, annoyed that he wasn't helping, and just bled out next time as did the other two. Then he decided to fight a bit before dying and letting the game end. As we got back to the lobby he was saying something on his headset but I couldn't make out his point.

He sent a voice message and turns out it was punishment for us starting the game before he was ready which I hadn't noticed at the time. I can understand why he was annoyed but given he was the host and had a headset why didn't he say something before the game started?

Probably because he was mixing himself a drink, VDCNI.

I think that might have been me yesterday, if you played a Krogan in that match.

If it was you, don't forget to tell, that you did trap me inside just a few minutes later - you did resurrect me, tho, so we're good

 

Last game, just done: Nice.

Only skillful people helping each other and getting stuff done. I'm lucky today - three great games in a row.

Picked up Krolord for a spin. Giant Gold vs Collector: PUG of course.

I managed to do damage (double Tap on Scion like a BAWS) and stay away from instakill... often (DAT Pretorians ). 

The best was at the end of wave 4th: all team surrounding a nuclear abomination, not quite sure if they were in the safe zone or not. So they weren't exactly shooting... more like backpedaling back and fro...

I charged biotic hammer and PWND! the nuclear abomination through Tuchanka's soil with the strenght of 1000 Krogan.

 

 

It was the last enemy of the wave.

I downed everyone, and wave 5 begun with a turian, a human and an AIU looking at the sky...

It was beautiful (ressed them ofc, but I was bursting with myrth).

We achieved extraction and did more games.

Just had the best host ever. I was running around with my krolord dying all the time, and the host always threw his geth turret to heal me when I was in need

 

Ps. First (and probably the last) time I took krolord into a plat game

Juggy mood

 

Glitched at wave 10, Giant/Plat, while playing a jug. The only shots I could fire was the siege pulse and I stood there like five minutes waiting to die. Get on with it, damn it, I'm right here!!! Shoot me!

 

On Rio/Cerb/Gold, on my jug and decided to imitate a squishy asari. I hung around the other end of the map and cleared the mobs that popped and trying to outflank the other three players from behind. I lagged behind in points until wave 10 when I went out to nail the phantoms before they dug in their nails into the other three. Wave 11 was a series of missile blasts.

I haven't posted here lately, so here's my last several "First PUG of the day" experiences:



1) Exasperation

I was in the mood for wallhax shenanigans so I used my Drell Infiltrator with a Black Widow and Drill Rounds. Dropped into... Firebase hydra, late in wave 1. Oh. Well. That's dissapointing. The host was a Juggernaut. The bad kind. I don't mean melee spammer. At least you don't need to revive those ones on WAVE ONE! The guy was using a sniper rifle and a shotgun, AND spamming siege pulse every time he had a freed up cooldown, never dropping a turret or shield at all.

No one else joined the game. I got my 15 revives medal by wave 4 or 5. And think about it. A DRELL, who needs to stop moving to revive a JUGGERNAUT, and doesn't die doing so... just what the hell was that Juggernaut doing to die so much!? It may as well have been a solo!

 

 

2) Reactions (Alternate Title: MeltingFaces)

 

4 Kroguard party, Collectors/Reactor. On wave 5 or 6, I locked everyone in the reactor, including myself. Their reactions? "I SWEAR TO GOD I AM GOING TO FIND A WAY TO REPORT YOU, YOU GODDAMN TROLL!" Nevermind the fact that I DIDN'T DIE because there were enemies to charge, and they were all a bunch of idiots for using carnage in their final seconds, so they have no one to blame but themselves for their demise! I just laughed at them and challenged them to stop making me revive them all the time if they had a problem with it, as I already had my 15 revives medal because no one charged once (besides me) that whole time.

 

 

3) Familiarity

Ended up running into SterlingPhoenix. Pleasant surprise. Games went well. No more needs to be said.

 

 

4) Contest (Alternate Title: Pathetic)

Imagine, if you will. One player using a Damage Over Time build, and everyone else going all out to try to finish off what is going to die in one second anyways, instead of attacking the enemies that are a legitimate threat. This happens literally every time I use my Cryo Soldier, without fail. And it is absolutely hilarious. This time was ramped up to 11, since I dropped into a game in progress with all of us using grenade builds (Destroyer, KroSol, QME) so we were actively fighting over grenades as well, and they actively used theirs at times they normally probably wouldn't, just to make room for another one so they could grab it instead of me. Pretty funny, but it got annoying. By the end of the game, I was plenty happy to go find a new team.

Decided to do some off-host Valkyrie-ing.  Dropped into a game.  On Glacier.  With two other biotics.

 

Needless to say, most rounds went by so fast I didn't even need to turn Annihilation Field on more than once.
