To the last group of pugs, it isn't what you think. I didn't spend wave 10 outside the reactor hack just trying to score points. In fact, I didn't kill a thing until that one Praetorian stopped following me and went after you as the hack ended.
Sure the hack may have taken longer, but wasn't it nice to only have to worry about a couple of mooks rather than the big guys and possessed aboms?

had a 4-warlords game, a 3-warlords game (SMR partook in those) - both replete with headbutting circles - then later on a 3-juggernauts match (joined by a Paladin, who must have enjoyed the safest deployment ever). Juggs get a lot of flak, but 3 of them, well played, trivialize gold to a hilarious extent. I couldn't even siege spam, as my joke build carries spitfire and javelin (which can only 1-shot cannibal-level mooks), and siege pulse has a 66 seconds cooldown (there that "enormous" popping up again), and the game didn't even take longer than usual. Ended up being London/Reapers, and things got a bit difficult only on wave 10 devices, where missiles had to be used. No Jugg went down, and much banshee's clowning took place. Mosh pits and high fives all the way to victory!

First time I find myself in a full Turian Pug on Gold: Giant vs Reaper. I suppose in this war, even Turians should defend Krogan's soil from time to time.

Anyway, grabbed my Turian soldier, trusty lancer in my talons and it was a dakka fest with mines and marksman.

Extracted first with 193k points. Really a nice game and a good team (Turian soldier, sentinel, TGI and Turian Havoc)

I don't spec into electric hammer, just the biotic. Gives more points for health and extra damage, which seems to work out pretty well unless I do something stupid

The group wanted to stick with lore and do Turians on Condor with phaestons. 4 different Turians (no TGI).. kinda slow match but no real difficulties

Yeah, I only put 3 points into Electric Hammer so I could complete the Challenge for it.  I much prefer KroSol/KroSent when it comes to melee kits.

Go 6 for one hammer and ignore the other. EH vs. Geth is superior to BH.

Giant Hazard/Reapers/ Gold joined as Juggernaut found myself with two furies and a fourth who apparently quit at some point

 

Between Biotic Explosions and fire explosions it was over pretty quickly

 

one of the furies kept getting downed on extraction but it was full

Ghost/Reapers/Gold, and the Host was a Salarian Engie!  My Valiant Salarian Infiltrator felt right at home with a supposedly friendly face!  Well he was friendly until he checked the scoreboard at Wave 10 completion and realized that it was 150k to 80k.  The other two pugs were a Geth Juggernaut and a Human Whatever.  Humans all look the same to me, you know.

 

Anyway the Salarian Engie started dancing in front of me and firing his Hurricane at me for the first 30 seconds of Wave 11.  Too bad he didn't see that Banshee I was shooting at creep up behind him for the sync kill!  I may or may not have pulled a few shots as she approached. 

 

Also, sometime during Wave 8 the Human Whatever completely lost it.  They pulled out their missiles launcher and emptied the entire thing in one go.  Brute with 2 bars of armor?  Missile!  Bunch of Swarmers?  Missile!  Nom noming Cannibal?  Missile!  Everything in sight got Missiled until they were out.

 

Back in the lobby, I put on fresh gear and readied up.  The Host left, along with everyone else.

Yeah you don't wanna be "that guy" who presets the same enemy every single game because that's the only one he's good for

Biotic Hammer does a lot more damage, true... but it lacks the crowd control component unless someone else primes your targets for BEs. The ability to survive longer, to do damage nonstop wins out against high damage spikes.

Those leaderboards with the PUGs scoring 115-118K (but a solid 80K+ behind you) feels exactly like how I score in a lobby with the likes of you folks.

 

Basically holding my own with OK-ish output...often the only other PUG with 100K+ in fact.

But in the end, I'm just 'Captain of the JV team'

I guess my point is that most (if not all) mooks die from a headbutt and/or charging melee. So you don't even need an ability to control them. If there is a cluster, just bash the weaker opponent then BH the one with shields/barriers for the OHK. Crowd control rarely becomes an issue. And if there is an issue, that's what medigel is for!

It's really just a matter of playstyle though. Nothing wrong if you like using EH, but for me, constantly moving and killing on the run is more enjoyable

Took the Slayer out on Gold for a spin with some pugs. I'm not going to lie the first five waves were rough kicking off the rust but I got in a rhythm on the home stretch. Even sweeter there were two TGIs in lobby as well.
