I agree it is always funny when all pugs beeline for the EZ, while you chill on the opposite end of the map, to the sound of "squadmate down" gel, gel, missile, "teammate needs help" gel, gel, stomp... especially in matches where you have actually shown that you know what you are doing    and I like to imagine that, among all the carnage, they are raging at you for trolling them by not helping

And yes, ghost's EZ is brutal, same as with Hydra and Rio. There are other EZs you can hold with the right team, but those ones? I have actually seen competent teams holding the line in Reactor, but I fail to see the point in doing so.

I disagree, and in fact I'd argue that I am being a two-fold team player: I am showing them how it is done, and I am trying my best to ensure extraction If they don't heed my advice then, they might come to see it for what it is... eventually

What I think, is that you're all a bit right, and a bit wrong.  The best way to do Hydra is to pivot on the LZ.  Place a camper at the LZ (in Marksmad's original situation, only one of the Demos) and the other at the left crate facing the long hall on left as facing the dam.  The other two, in this case the Juggy and Marksmad should be the strikers who push forward from the blue room during the wave and eliminate the enemy that is forced into the lower spawn points.  They need the discipline, however, to not go too far forward such that they put the lower spawn points under direct LOS while the two upper spawn points on the left are unwatched.  The middle person, should watch the left side and float to the overwatch points by the left center ramp only if/when the strikers are not too far forward, or start to get pushed back by superior numbers in later waves.  That way, the middle player can support both the pivot, in case of enemy flanking the LZ from the pillbox, or the strikers, if they start drawing too much fire. 

A solid strategy.  Good luck making a PUG understand it, though.

Drop into a lobby of three quarians. One female infiltrator with the raptor, one female engineer with the revenant, and a quarksman with the mattock. Now the good person would have gone ooh theme event and switched to a quarian. Instead I decide to troll by switching to a juggernaut and am immediately called a toaster, a bosh'tet and a debate over rather to throw me out of the airlock ensued. They keep me and by the end admit for a talking toaster I was useful though I'm completely sure the 15 revive medal on wave 1 had nothing to do with it. Sorry QMR looks like legit suitrats have infiltrated the fleet.

Biotics

 

There's nothing better than a biotic lobby, as far as I am concerned. Two games in a row, all four of us chose to be biotic characters and it ended up being ridiculously fun. Weapons were seldom used. In the second game, none of us even got any weapon medal (A fury ended up with a headshot medal in the first game, tsk tsk).

 

No missiles despite targets on both games. Well, one was used on w11 in the second game to prevent a revive chain. One of the best pug games off late.

Funny thing - If I'm on a Rio match with a bunch of PUGs who don't know what they're doing, I will often run to the LZ before extraction so I can sit on the spawn right in front of the LZ, in anticipation of them trying to hold the LZ (which they almost always do).  If someone is sitting on that spawn, holding the LZ becomes very doable.

 

If they end up not trying to hold the LZ, then I'll run back across the map to join them.  Or sometimes, you can just sit in relative peace right there, because the big hitters will be swarming on them at the other end of the map, and you can sit there for the entire 2 minutes just picking off a few hipster mooks who decide to go to the other end of the map before it's cool.

Don't you love sniping when you just can't get away from the guys with the Adas and Venom?  Oh well, the match went very easily, aside from the fact that I died 7 times straight in about 20 seconds during the wave 3 hack.  I died, got revived, then got stunlocked to death by Primes and Hunters while still getting to my feet, only to be revived under a Bomber just in time to loose my invulnerability as they went off, rinse and repeat.

But it kept failing to work, because the Alchemist is a DAMP character, not ME 3.

I drop into a GIP on my alt account. Reactor Hazard/Reapers/Gold. Wave 9. QFE. Viper II - WAIT, why was I using the viper!? Well, I see three skulls right away, and am getting flanked by banshees. I missile. I immediately run into two more banshees. I missile. Two more- wait what!? How much of the wave budget was left!? I decided to kite around a bit and take out Ravagers/Brutes/Marauders for a bit, and apparently I was taking too long since someone quit the game. I only had the 3 missiles, and had used two, and Viper sucks against banshees, so I wanted to save my last missile for the last banshees. But that never happened; I ran past a marauder who elbowed me into a banshee's loving penetration.

I quit from shame before getting back to the lobby.

Typical - 'You have lost connection to ME3 servers'. Lost connection on extraction after carrying 3 pugs for most of the match. It was against Geth as well :|

Last 4 pugs could be summed up that way.  I don't think any of them had over 500 CP.  So I put on my tryhard pants and led them to glory.  The pugs have learnt to worship at the altar of the Asari Huntress, Turian Soldier, Batarian Soldier and Claymore GI.

 

Seriously though, there wasn't a single game where I scored less than 120k more than the next person.

Carried a Gold Pug Game so the host switched to a Juggernaut and changed it to Plat/White/Cerberus.  He didn't do terrible the game before so I switched to BatSol and readied up.  His Jug had an Incendiary Ammo Harrier and he knew how to Siege Pulse detonations and actually came in 2nd place.  Third place went to the other Jug, and the Asari Huntress came in dead last.  WTF

Krolords are strong. Bad pugs are bad. Krolord pugs are strongbad. I wanted to test Turian Stability out (I actually never knew about the stability glitch until recently, was testing for myself,) so I dropped into a Silver Lobby as the TSol with a Revanant, since no way in Hell am I using the Revenant on Gold without it being a high level with good gear (yay alt accounts.)

 

There was this krolord mumbling to himself a bit. Before long, he started complaining about team kills. Now, I DO understand that Vorcha and Krolords need constant kills to keep their maximum potential up, but most of those so called "Team kills" were him coming up behind something shooting at me, that I killed in retaliation. If I did not, I would have died. So I called him out on it. "It's not your team's job to suck just so you suck less," I told him, "Consider it an incentive to get better at the game!"

 

"Uhh... yeah, you're kind of mumbling, I can't really hear you very well, sorry."

 

But he was dead quiet after. Liar. Except for when he got Banshee Grabbed, expressing surprise because they DIDN'T KNOW THAT COULD HAPPEN.

Troll me with the occasional POSSESSED abomination, and I'll laugh.  Make a point of detonating EVERY SINGLE non-possessed abomination right beside me, and then don't bother reviving me?  Not so funny.

My first successful platinum pug (aside from a couple where I landed with BSNers).  Which makes my 7th attempt at platinum since Lodestar ended.  All 7 with u/u/p, all 7 Rio/Reapers...  No box of shame at least!

For both pug matches I played today on Gold. Randoms that seem 100 percent incapable of staying alive, completing objectives etc. Granted some out of the 6 randoms I played with tried to do objectives. But damn. Clutching every wave alone making me wonder why I'm not just soloing on purpose.
