some idiot terrible pug came into platinum with absolute shittier garbage loadout, avenger + explosive rounds + stabilization module + medigel transmitter on the human soldier, like they just played four bronze games, got that stuff then decided "hey i'm ready for some UUP" 

 

i roll my eyes at this stupidity and immediately begin composing a BSN post in my head, thinking that i must share how awful this pug is and how badly I'm about to topscore them in the last pug in one word thread. I wonder, what will my one word be? I pull out my thesaurus but the game starts so I don't have much time to consider it 

 

so this avenger idiot stays in the lobby along with a tgi, a reegar, and an asari huntress who joins later, ends up being cerberus rio. we limp on through the game in around 24-25 minutes, awkward. 

 

at the end of the game i examine the scoreboard and start preening while the the hand I don't use for eboob fondling hovers over the screencap button, my eyes settle in on my name NOT at the top of the board and then I realize... to my horror... 

 

the pug was me! i was the avenger human soldier with the explosive rounds!

 

i stared into the abyss, bsn... and the abyss stared back at me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hey you're on my friends list, play a game with me some time, beating up some reapers has gotta help you feel at least a little better. Plus I always feel worse for the people who try to make me feel like that - imagine how miserable their lives must be to act like that, they deserve pity if anything.

Drought Over!

 

My longest-ever drought without getting an UR is finally over!  I got URs in two straight packs, including a Wraith IX (can't wait to max that one).

I don't know why it took me so long to realize this, but the Geth Turret specced for Flamer is amazing against Phantoms.  If you fire it in front of them, they will instantly ignore you, bubble up, and start cartwheeling around the Turret.  I had three Phantoms dancing around my Flamer Turret at the same time during a Wave 10 Hack, making it one of the easiest hacks against Cerberus I've ever seen.  Bonus points for hitting your Overload at the right time and 6x6 fire exploding them as they are cartwheeling around your turret.

Joined the game on w5. Did my stuff, y´know, getting into mooks faces and unloading my trusty raider into their faces. W6 came up and it was a hack on the lower part of the map, you know that spot there in the open. Anyway, we stood our ground and nothing, and I mean nothing came through at all. Anything coming down the stairs was either FEed or TBed. Got myself magnetgrabbed by a banshee on w8. Luckily it was near the end. W9 went smooth and so did objectives on w10. On w11 I nuked a irresistible gathering of brutes, ravagers, marauders and stuff. Up next, full extraction and onto the lobby, where I was greeted by a [X]. Now, that kickvote is either the result of me nuking or me nearly making 3. place on the scoreboard.

Fury+shotgun is one hell of a combo (I'm partial to wraith, but I still lack the mastery of the kit. It's still a little to fragile for my tastes).

^ yeah, off host Fury is more risky, I like doing it anyway...I have never tried the wraith on her before..sounds interesting..you dont really need to master her...sounds like you got her figured out already..only thing really needed to score stupidly high with her is to know when & when not to go in for the boom.

So I joined a GiP on Wave 3, it was Giant/Cerberus/Gold.  One pug was down, the other two weren't doing too bad though.  Or so it seemed!  On Wave 4, the host and one of the pugs went down and got stomped.  After I carried the Wave, the host ragequit.  At least he had the decency to wait until Wave 5 Start!

 

Wave 5 began with Engineers and Possessed Praetorians!  Hey guys, just FYI, it looks like I am the new host!  The remaining pugs promptly left within the next 17 seconds.

3 mother of god..times I had to score over 150,000 points just to keep us in the game..that was my lowest score of the night...

 

Hydra/ Reapers..in the lobby I saw an OG MaleShep BOTB and 2 Alt Banners...I will assume are BSNr's and used 2 of the stupidest loadouts I have seen in months....I really, really want to name & shame...but you know...mods.....One was a GI with a Javelin 2 / Spitfire 1 backup..WAT!!!!!

..me...a vorcha engee w a Talon...I used 3 rockets to save them from getting souped.....I scored 167k, 2nd place 82k....   left when we got back to the lobby.

 

next up... Dagger Hazard / Cerberus.. thank the goddess I went with my vanilla asari dept or they wouldnt have made it past wave 5..I had to stasis every single phantom.. 4 times..I froze them in the middle of sync killing teammates..there was a demolisher that left after wave 4..thank god cuz she was following me everywhere tossing arc grenades and messing up my biotic booms..2 tha point she was tossing nades ahead of me in case something was there...  my score 192k, 2nd place 122k...

 

and finally...Dagger / Collectors...I said screw it at this point in the nite.. GI w Hurricane...LOL..205k, 2nd place 89k...we got devices all 3 times..why not?...it was that kind of night..

Terminal-lag

 

Inspired by another thread, I was playing a cryo-Falcon wielding HE and doing rather well on Hazard Glacier Cerberus. The match ended abruptly, however, when we got to wave 10 targets. We had made the switch from Atlas on the first target to Phantoms for the second, which was cleared without too much trouble. At the same time the second target was cleared, one of the group's two vanguards decided to keep the Atlas' busy, if momentarily, by getting crushed. As the third target, another Phantom, came up from the LZ with her friends, what I witnessed was a Phantom continuing its path up the stairs, into the air and beyond. A moment later I witnessed swords plunging through the guts of my HE and my two remaining teammates.

 

I have to wonder if the first vanguard to go was the host and they tabbed out to look at something else while they waited for the wave to end. It's easy to doubt the intentions of people one does not know, and I wasn't keeping track of which player was which at the time -- I don't even know if it was the host that went first. Meh. At least I had fun to that point, and a bit of a laugh at the end.

Dropped down to bronze to try and help new players. Only came across one new player. In three games the lobby filled with all high CP players. 4 mentors - no students.

Recently I received an XBL party invite from a host during a match on FB White, so I joined thinking they all had some game communications going.  I was the only team member in his party...a wee little ~10 yr old tike's voice said, "Hello...?"  I kinda sank.  I didn't want to ditch him and possibly break his little heart; however, I didn't feel great being in a 'private' conversation with somebody's little boy...as an adult man.  So I just stayed quiet and only responded when he asked a random question.

 

In wave 2 I was asked..."Hey mister...how many medi-gels do you have?  Cuz just have 1 left."

 

 

So I said, "Never mind that.  Your parents home?  You ever go into a men's locker room?"

I hear you. I always feel bad if I drop out of the party. That's one where I play the match and wish them luck and leave. One time the kid was so grateful that I stayed in the party. He told me about all the times people left mid match or kicked him once they got back to the lobby. Heck, he wasn't even the worst person I encountered in a match.
