Quick searched into a Gold lobby last night, hosted by Q5y!
Between the 2 of us and the 2 puglins, we were barely able to beat that Gold match. It took everything we had ... jk, it was a cake walk.
So Q switched it to Plat and off we went. OFC it was still going smooth until the wave 10 (troll)drone. It started at the back of white and did one of those 'hey, I'm going to zig zag through every open high traffic area in the map, mmmkay?', and ofc the wave 10 plat Cerberus units were spawning on top of the escort the whole way. Some missiles were used but we got 'er done. Then we had cake!

I was using the generic you, sorry if you thought it was directed at you personally.
Escalation
was running a triple Turian match with two friends, when a Jugg dropped in with its wraith X. Game ended up being Hydra/Reapers. Hydra is a difficult map for a Jugg, if you run with a competent team, esp one with hitscan powers to detonate FEs... and I guess being outscored by kits using Striker and Phaeston was too much for him, and he quit at wave 7. Surprisingly, the same player dropped in again on wave 9, this time with the Harrier 
wasting no time to use missiles to up his score.
That wouldn't even be too bad, but later on, the same player dropped into a gip I had running as a duo (no one else joined), again with a jugg, and this time they were using a modded Executioner Pistol, at least three shots in the magazine 
. Despite the... extra help, they kept dropping. No way we were going to revive a cheater though, so they burned through their gels, then ended up spectating most of waves 9 and 10. And when we ignored them again on extraction, went down and got stomped, they rage quit can't wait to meet them again and see what they come up with.
Word of advice, if you really want to go pugging with modded weapons, do everyone a favour and pick something that might at least be amusing to watch, not painful:

I like using the Hurricane as a Backup on him. It's good, but the Eagle is still better. I do believe that they are the two best guns for him though. Of course there are gimmicky things like Spitfire, GPR, GPSMG, etc for infinite clipsize, or shotguns for sniping (Marksman Piranha comes to mind), but they don't feel.... serious. The dude turns those hand-sized guns into such a destructive force that I can't help but use them.
You know sh*t´s about to get real, when I equip the raider on him. It´s my go to weapon on him for plat.
A writeup : here explains that EA use only subsets of the ports that are supported by the platforms themselves. So from the list of official PS3 UDP ports, only subsets are used by EA, and those subsets are different for different titles (in both directions of communication). For me3 :
- UDP PS3 3478-3479, 3658-3659, 5223, 5659, 6000
- TCP PS3 5223, 9946, 42100, 13000-13100
- UDP XB 3074
- TCP XB 3074
- PC UDP 5659, 6000
- PC TCP 80

you could. but then, with one click, you basically open all of your ports to the lowest of bottom feeders (those Mr. Hydes as opposed to Dr. Jekyll : Moxie Marlinspike types). I know Netgear is cheap and all that but a good firewall is the only thing between your home (incl some chatty smart tv' etc.) and some bad faeries out there. Such parameter options should not even be allowed on a firewall router.

Only all of the ports to the PS3. It is a singular IP that the ports are opened for, not your whole network of PCs (which should all have their own protections anyways). If people are sad enough to hack PS3s, then that is their problem. If you (personal not generic this time) want to waste stress levels and heartbeats (we have a limited number, you know?) over paranoia and such, that's your problem. Me? I'd rather just go shoot some Reapers and be done with it.

Yesterday I tried melee smashguard off host. First game was on silver and it went so well that I decided to give it a go on UUG and random gave us reapers on FBWhite with ping around 80 msec which is reasonable. The lobby had drell infiltrator, TGI/reegar and some turian soldier. First 4 waves went fine but then TSol quit or disconnected and another infiltrator joined. So, from wave 5 on it was a nightmare for me with 3 infiltrators. I could not stand it and quit on wave 7 after TGI and drell had their revive medals.

A cabal and my Juggy took on the geth on White. The Cabal was friendly enough to confuse the heck out of them, so I could headshot them. GG

Loved the PC and Wii U matches today. Started out on Wii U with several grenade-wielding kits. Only 1 successful mission while the 2 others were strange combinations of misfortunes leading to mission failure.
On PC, I specced my volus sentinel and the decoy sure is really nice! I'm not too happy with the combat drone without rockets, but I'll give it a few more outings to see if my opinion changes. Originally, I put explosive and rockets with the idea that should the drone die, better it explode and hit something out of chance than to hit nothing at all. The drone did kill off a few things though and stunned some abominations, so it was pretty useful still.
Switched to the asari valkyrie and for the first few waves, I forgot to put on annihilation field. *face palm* One player seemed to have the "Jeodore over the loudspeaker" attack which was... well... weird.

Predators
Plural. Decided to finally knock the predator challenge down. Equipped it on the Slayer to use as ammo primer; had a Justicar land in the lobby with the same gun! First time I see double predators in a gold game. We were joined by a GT (and a revolving door of pugs). Didn't get many predator points actually; I was too busy charging reaved targets, and phase disrupting fire explosions off the GT. It might mean having to take the gun out once more, but I don't care, it was an hilariously fun game. If you read this, thanks for a great game, and thanks for the many revives!

Arkhne. If ports are not opened you will have the same problem on any platform. PC race, XBox Race, Human Race. Your complaint of low connections to other PS3 members is directly related. It's likely that you connect only with a small subset of the PS3 community that have similiar limitations. Think about why you are never seeing any AHF player in your PUG lobbies... and we do pug a lot.

Sadly that doesn't work on ps3 as there's many facts that come to play, like how many wifi is being used around the house, what type of items are using the wifi, and what type of internet is being used and so on.
Ps3 had old hardware compared to all the new things like iphones, other smart phones, and computers. So even if you open the ports the internet will still be more concentrated on better hardware around your house or whats closer to your router. I know this because this was the number one problem i had before. My house is filled with wifi using items and because of that it. In result the internet was divided up and the items, that have problems getting the signal will suffer because of the others that can.

And the idea that newer devices suck more wifi signal than older ones, in the same zone, is unfounded... 1/r^2 is standard antenna theory anyway.
U agree @ least on our basic premise that playing on a wifi, with a congested network, is very very bad, especially if you host, for fellow players, so I'll look over the rest of your posted misinformation.
