You didn't specify which waves the host nuked spawns on, but he technically hasn't wasted his missiles if he nuked spawns outside of objective waves. You had a "full salvo of missiles", you could have helped your teammates complete the objectives, but instead you got synced. You should blame yourself for the failure instead of the host. By the way, people who save their missiles for wave 11 scorewhoring instead of using them to make the game faster and smoother instantly get a kick vote from me once we get back to the lobby

He's right though, there's no point saving your rockets for the end of the round. They're to be used when necessary. And always nuke swarmers first.

 

I wasn't saving them. I didn't get to use them.

 

But hey the man wanted to be a hero. Or too stupid to realise that pumping his score up so high on such a small map was going to be trouble.

Especially considering the other 2 where borderline gold equiped. Pays to check your lobby before nuking everything in sight during the early stages.

Landed in Glacier/Gold/Reaper

All was going well (if not a little laggy but not overly bad), until wave 10 when we got devices.
By this time the host (Borat - not his real name) was well over 150K. I was on just over 50K. The other two were about half my score.
He was nuking spawns and such early on.

Obviously by this time the game had decide to ramp up the difficulty immensley and we were having trouble getting the last device done.
It was on the console facing towards the LZ in the mid Lower Basement.

Can't remember Borat's exact words but he was advising us rather forcefully to kite the enemy away from the device, to just stay away and keep moving.

As well as providing unhelpful commemtary on our prowess as players.
Easier said than done on such a small map with so many enemies.
Not to mention that it's heaps annoying to have someone yelling so loudly into their mic that it drowns out the game.

 

Unfortunately Borat had made a habit of leaving half dead enemies all over the map or just avoiding them altogether unless he could nuke a group of them.

Wishing he would just STFU and get on with it I got synched by a Banshee with magnetic hands.
I was dragged towards her from about a foot outside her reach.
Didn't notice that she'd been hunting me.

Anyway with Borat still rabbiting on I switched to the pug who had managed to get to it and had about 5 seconds left on the device.
And not an enemy to be seen. We're going to make it!
I see Borat run up, stop, then keep going.

 

There are times when you just have to stop running and stand your ground. This was one of them.

Immediately two Banshees start teleporting down the stairs from the LZ. This is going to be close. Fingers crossed.
Borat's going to come back and check isn't he?!
This is nail bitingly close.
But no. Poor pug, despite his steely resolve, gets picked up and impaled with literally half a second to go.
Left all on his lonesome Borat didn't have the firepower to take on the Reaper horde and just counted the clock down.

And here in lies the irony. Him following his own advise lead to our downfall.
Mission Fail!
Pity. I still had a full salvo of rockets for wave 11.

Poor Borat !

I'm sorry Mr Onion, but you're wrong in every aspect. There's no point in keeping your missiles for wave 11, it's useless. As for Borat, he had three times your score, so he was tired of carrying you, that's why he fired missiles before wave 10. You should actually thank him to have carried you so far, many would have stopped way earlier.

The thing is he might not have been pumping his score so high like you think. If he had 150k and the rest of you were at around 50k, he's probably the reason you guys made it to w10. He was right in trying to kite the enemies, so that someone else can do the devices in peace.

     

I'd say a couple banshees screaming after you on a device wave on Glacier is a good reason to use those missiles.

My MQE landed in a pug of three Krogans, two worlards and one sentinel, who were intent on meleeing everything (as Krogans should be...just maybe not Banshees in sync-kill mod when not on the stairs).  Fortunately for them, fire and tech explosion support meant they mostly avoided getting their insides ripped out.

 

Got back in, saw that aside from the Sentinel with the Crusader, they were all pretty new players (>200 CP).  The host then set the difficulty to Platinum.  Sorry guy, but you and the other don't really have the manifest for that, and I don't feel like carrying today.

No we were just lucky to make it to wave 10. Every time we needed a four man team he was off somewhere else. We had just enough firepower as a 4 person squad to hold most things at bay. It would have been a longer match staying together but I reckon we would have made it.
 
If I'm hosting I want everyone to make it out alive. Even if it means I don't high score.

What you're not seeing is that the other guy was doing unspeakable things to the enemy while you three were struggling to survive together. Look i know score doesn't matter much but here the difference in score speaks for itself here. The more you kill, the more points you get. Besides you guys could've used missiles yourself during the objective wave. 

 

Now I could be wrong about this since I haven't actually seen any of you play, but I highly doubt it.

But you know, blaming someone else for your failures doesn't get you brownie points. Maybe if you hadn't gotten synced you could've done something about it. Maybe you just need to git gud..

This guy is a troll or has no idea how to play golds. If the device is getting overrun, kite it as the big ole bully said. That gets the enemies away from the device. Point 2, it is an ideal situation for the person on the device to be alone and have teammates draw aggro away. It's not a hack or escort, where everyone needs to be together. Granted, that ideal situation doesn't occur all the time, but that is what you want.
Plus you're arguing with Ark, Xan, and Loufi, which is pointless because they might just have a pretty good idea as to what they are talking about considering they are 3 of the best you will find. So you're embarrassing yourself.

Not upset enough to make a lengthy post about it and whine. Besides, I think I can safely say none of us are upset, we were trying to make you see the faults in your reasoning. I'm still trying but I feel like it's a lost cause.
