Old news I know, but lone wolf is the only banner that says someone is any good.
Don't you need Solo mastery to get Best of the best ?
Anyways, the only banner that shows your skills is Dog of War, it has Grunt in it.

Why.
Why do I even bother trying to play this game again sometimes. It's always filled with awful pugs, and I always get stupid irritated after one match.

Cos you're a masochist maybe. I just fell back into this by accident. I also need to buy a new game. Trying and failing to re-play Fallout 4.
Wrong.
The lobby looked good. A bit low on gear, but still, highish leveled rare weapons, low-mid ultrarares, appropriate weapons/mods/equipment/gear for the kits. And then the game began. HazGhost/Collectors/Gold. By the end of wave one, I thought they were trolling me with how badly they were playing - it didn't help that all three of them clearly knew each other, and were speaking in some language I couldn't identify. I mean, a Huntress with a CSR, trying to fight at point blank, while the Piranha AIU was shooting halfway across the map. At least the BW GI seemed to realize that distance might be his friend. All three of them wouldn't get more than 10 feet from each other, and every single time a possessed scion used it's cluster grenades or a Praetorian used it's laser vision, at least two of them would go down. EVERY SINGLE TIME! And they never, ever, used medigel.
Then we got a wave 3 escort. I used 3 rockets, 3 medigel, and 4 ops packs while solo-escorting the objective while the other three stayed just outside the circle, drawing all attention towards the objective, while not actually helping it along at all. Waves 4 and 5, I completely avoided the others, even going so far as to detonate PAs on them in hopes of taking out all three simultaneously so that they couldn't revive each other - at least then I could have tried to kite properly.
Wave 6: Hack, the one in the building just above and to the right of the LZ. I burned the rest of my consumables to keep them alive long enough to finish the hack, by which point all three had been downed, and then I just called it quits and let a Praetorian kill me. And then bought a few jumbo equipment packs to make up for it...

Depending on the mood I'm in, if I'm soloing a mission while all three other players are just doing their thing...
(By doing their thing, I mean blatantly not giving a frak about the mission and doing whatever they feel like doing thinking someone else will do the boring part.)
I will give up on the mission and join them.
Do net test me PUG, I have and will do this in a platinum game on wave 10 if I feel like it.
I might even keep doing it when/if the other guys realize (usually when time's getting short) that if nobody does the mission then we all fail and finally get on with it.
I'm prepared to fail the mission just to teach bad pug a lesson, and I will enjoy every second of it.

Haha , I like the way you think.
Wavering hosts and a good pug
The first one left after dying in wave 2, the next one to host left in wave 3. I figured they left when they realised gold matches aren't for them.
Had a really good match with pugs though I wish they wouldn't congregate around my area. It's good and not good. ![]()
2spooky4me
I got into a silver pug with my naked kroguard, once it started all of the other players got disconnected, I was expecting to find a nest of marauders and cannibals but realized i was being punched by a ghost, I then knew in full horror that there was ghost everywhere,
The host was still there, They were a fury.
They had no trouble battling the deados. But i was being pummeled to death by these ghouls.
I was pretty scared man
Yeah, but lone wolf banner takes skill, all the rest take time.
Kroguard/Gold/Giant/Geth

Yeah, but lone wolf banner takes skill, all the rest take time. Botb says you have some skill and a lot of time. Actually someone else may be able to answer this but I think that since botb just takes 25 challenge completions, people with n7 challenge completions may be able to get botb without lone wolf, not sure though.
Yeah, my point was, if you need the solo mastery to have the Botb, then saying Botb doesn't mean anything but lone wolf shows skills is illogical.
Not sure about getting botb without solo mastery, could be.
It all comes down to : what you choose to have as a banner, what it means to you, and what you're trying to say with it.
When I see a lone wolf, I'm assuming he did at least two gold solos so there has to be some skills.
Even if he only did it with one OP kit on an easy map with an easy faction.
There are still few people who are able to solo bronze, let alone silver or gold.
I have the exact same assumptions for Botb, my main focus is the fact that it means solo mastery.
In both cases, I also presume that there is pride or even ego in wearing those titles.
For some reason, I'm always a bit wary of lone wolves. I suspect that they're not team players and that they have a scorewhore mentality.
Now, I'm not saying that it's true, It's just a it's a totally biased feeling I get when I see the banners, I believe it's called prejudice ?
(I've been proven wrong many times.)
I tend to like anyone who has the Grunt Dog of War banner, grouch at those who have the alternative ones and curse them if it has no Krogan on it.
I see Nomads as vagabonds, Operators as team players, Mathemagicians as scientific-minded people, Monsters as brutes or rebels, N7 as elitists,
I feel a connection and nostalgia towards Lodestar, Heartbreaker and Hallowed Hero banners.
I think Warfighters (cerberus troopers) have very poor taste and that volus Biotic Gods have a sense of humour.

Ship-Dit Primes.
just did a match w pearl and next arishok vs geth on dagger... I guess walking around walls has become too complex for primes to comprehend...my vanilla asaridept just stood around a corner and kept popping primes in their melons with drill rounds with the paladin while they stood there confused by what what happening to them.
Wore the N7 Shadow alt (Earth Mastery) banner the most tho. Loved how it looked plus mostly BSN folk or at least those who were aware of the boards wore them. #Special snowflakes
I love both banners for Earth Mastery, I probably wear them the most too.
Love the design too, also, it says survivor and I like to think I have a survivor mentality.
Aware of the boards ? What do you mean ?
Forgot to say : I also assume anyone wearing the female Botb or female Lone Wolf is a girl. #psychic

Did I ever tell you guys I got kicked by 2 German grills, after I topped em? Well I did, it was erotic. One was wearing a femshep lone wolf banner the other a femshep BoTB banner. And me I was wearing nothing at all!
'Tis quite erotic indeed, especially the naked not wearing anything.
Btw Nightman, what's that about coming to PC ? When is that going to happen ? Is it ?
On another note, I was writing stupid post on BSN and I forgot I started a platinum lobby... was wave 3 when I took control of my kit.
I'm such a bad host...sorry

Kroguard/Gold/Giant/Geth
Never tried it myself, is it really that foolproof?
I could not do it on the first try long time ago despite equipping cyclonics III and reegar, not sure if it was maxed. But then I did full melee with disciple and omniblade after respeccing into recharge speed and that worked much better. IMO, that is almost fool proof but they still shoot at you and bomb you and stun, so yes, it is possible to die on some glitchy map where sometimes you cannot charge due to some axis alignment or something else or just cannot reload the gun because of stunlock. But for melee, you don't need to reload the gun which actually helps a lot. Oh, and never charge the bombers. Otherwise, yes, easy mode, no need to kite as long as you can do the objectives. I'd say it is easier than soloing silver collectors on Condor.
For the first and easiest for me solo I took Valkyrie with incendiary reegar. That was much faster and essentially trouble free IMO.
Ehhh yeah I forgot about that. Never tried it myself, is it really that foolproof? I guess if someone gets lone wolf that way that's still better than not doing it at all.
Haven't played Kroguard much these last years so I'm not a specialist but I wouldn't say it's foolproof.
Even with rage and cyclonic modulator IV you can get killed when surrounded by too much ennemies, and that's on silver.
Sure it's much less likely for you to die with that kit but still takes skills to perform a solo gold in my opinion.
Hell, if he has good manifest, gear, consumables and weapons mods, I'd pick anyone who's confortable soloing bronze with a regular kit over half
of the pug I meet in platinum.
Predictable
Dropped GiP into Glacier/Collectors/Gold. There was an N7 Shadow and 2 Juggernauts. The N7 Shadow kept spamming Electric Slash, teleporting from room to room, and shooting through the entire map with a Drill Ammo SMG of some sort. The Jugs were dead on arrival, one scored 13k, the other a whopping 25k, by the end of Wave 11. During the Wave 10 basement hack, everyone went down to Possessed Scion grenades and Butt Lasers, I waited to see what would happen, eventually started spamming my Gel button. I hit it 5 times and it just didn't work. Got stomped.
I took the opportunity to provide witty commentary to the remaining players. One of these was to put 20 to 1 odds that the Shadow was Host, and that the location of Glacier was a preset. Once we got back to the lobby, it turned out I was correct, and the host left immediately. Adding injury to insult, I was Lone Survivor at Extraction.

Oh, me coming to PC is going to happen...soon..I dont know nuthin bout PC games or PC rigs...but my brother in law does...as soon as I can get some time with him for a few hours..so he can help me upgrade this laptop I am typing this on..IT IS A DONE DEAL.. PC community..prepare yourselves.. I am headed your way...very, very soon.
Was hoping for an awkward reply, I like awkward situations. Pearl put it out there, I just asked a question.
OT: Got disconnected from a Collector/gold. And I was playing decently too, right, back to the SP then.
Aw I'm sorry. Will keep that in mind in the future and do better!
"draining"
I just did a 53 minute platinum. This is the reason I hate soloing (only I was pugging and was on a full team). I think I need a break from this game for a few days.
Predictable
Aaaahhh pug stories, I never get tired of hearing a good one, yours was excellent.
On my last pug I had someone rage/shame/stupid quit, stunned me for a second, then I laughed.
Here is the setting for this story : Giant/Cerberus/Platinum
I'm Tsent with PPR, joining me is a Destroyer with PPR and Reegar, an AIU with Reegar and a Quarian Engineer with nades and the mighty Arc Pistol.
Game went fine, had some fun with the Destroyer unloading the full capacity and power of our PPR at each other in several memorable duels just for the heck of it.
Aftera while I notice the QE is dying...ALOT, and he seems to be overly eager to score points.
He joins us for the Hack, but does not provide any kind of support when we get devices, as the game progresses, he starts to die more and more.
But hey, the other guys are solid and I'm having a good time so I'm still reviving him anytime he dies (when he's not rage-geling.), even taking risks or using a rocket to get him out of a tough spot. The other teammates are in the same mindset.
Somewhere in the game, I take a look at the score and he's at the top with solid lead (about 35k).
For some reason he continues to play very aggressively and to die in the process.
Wave 11, everyone goes far from the LZ and though I'm fairly certain he's still ahead in score, the QE goes for that famous corner spawn near the LZ, gets the kill streak, then dies a few seconds later.
He's quite far away and though I wouldn't mind helping him, I'm not so sure about risking my neck for him this close to extraction.
I don't get the chance to make a decision because I see he's down, for good.
It happened fast and I was busy taking care of a pack of phantoms so I don't know if he got sync killed or if he bled out ( wouldn't be surprised if he was out of gels)
We finish it, get back to the LZ and as the game ends, I realize the QE left the game a while ago, before "mission successful" (all he had to do was wait 1m30...)
So I don't know what that was about... Didn't pay much attention to the score during the game, but I highly doubt I was able to beat his.
What's wrong with him ? Was he so upset to bleed out on wave 11 that he just had to rage quit before getting his credits ?
Or maybe in the end I did top his score by an outrageously slight margin, haha that would be epic.
Anyways, one of the best game I had recently, some players need to chill the frak down, for real...
