I find that central room to be a trap, too many blindspots, I get flanked in there too easily. I prefer the corner near the end of the tunnel/hallway with the ammo box, but then, I use long range weapons, and I can see and shoot almost any part of the map there, and still have several escape routes.

This was Dagger hazard after all, worst hazard map because it looks like regular Dagger had a diarrhea.

And long range weapon definitely changes a lot on the map like Dagger. Regular Dagger is one of my favorite maps in the game, btw.

I guess it comes down to personal preference. If it works it, it's all good. Tho, I will try out your strategy as I intend to solo Geth on Dagger with human soldier. So, will see how it goes.

Watch out for Primes, those are by far the deadliest enemies on Dagger. Not even Ravagers and triple tapping rocket troopers come close.

My Wraith QFE dropped into a GiP with a Typhoon Destroyer, Raider AIU, and Harrier TGI.  Some of those Brutes actually went down in less time than it took for my Incinerate to reach them...  So I pretty much just Cryo-blasted banshees to make them even faster, and did objectives.  Occasionally picking off random mooks that weren't worth the others time to shoot at.

I destroyed collectors as host using my GI geth plasma shotgun build.

 

Still amazed how fun the GI geth plasma shotgun build is, I don't know why I didn't abuse it earlier, surprised it does pretty well against the collectors, was expecting it to fall off to the point the claymore or the piranha would've been better but it wasn't too bad despite how much health the boss level enemies.

Smashdept on Rio/Collectors Rest of the team comprised of low N7/CP good players.

The early waves followed the usual pug pattern of trying to fall back and holding the middle of the map once the spawns by columns are wiped - not an healthy strategy for the smashdept. By wave 7 one of the pugs disconnected. Wave 8 rolls on, and to my surprise, both remaining pugs abandoned the middle of the map and joined me into the boxes. The fury detonated my singularities at long range, and then used DC to prime for my smashes at short range, teleporting around corners to do so, and using AF/throw to protect herself. The GE watched our flanks, used overload to strip barriers, but was careful not to overwrite biotic primers on armour. We held the boxes for two waves, took care of wave 10 targets, and proceeded to an efficient, smooth full extraction. These are the games I still pug for

The fury player sticked around, and we rattled off a string of biotically-oriented matches, capped by a 4-asaris romp on ghost hazard. Felt bad I had to stop afterwards.

In all seriousness, I find Cerberus the best designed Platinum faction. Wave 7 is relaxing and enjoyable (mooks only), has the coolest extraction wave (Goons) and more importantly, it's very low on Geth Primes - personally, that's all I need. Ok, I can understand the feelings towards the Phantom, but there are tons of ways to deal with her. My 2 cents.

To add onto the Derperus hate, I had a PUG earlier where every single Phantom and Turret was invisible and I got sync-killed by a ghost Phantom. I guess cheating Dragoons and flipping Phantoms wasn't enough cancer already.

I've thought it'd be interesting if on extraction wave every enemy you killed lowered your score; the point was to run away.

With a widow, and an anti-clockwise circuit of the map, usually works for me. (On Gold, no idea about Platinum). Just don't try to HOLD anywhere, you fire a shot or two to down one enemy, move to the next spot. Dagger is too open with too many paths to not keep moving, you WILL get flanked.

 

Claymoar and Widow are pretty similar. Claymoar hits harder at closer ranges, so you might need to be even more patient, maybe even use hard cover (I know, blasphemy!) to extend the effective range into Sniper values. Doable though, that's how I would do it anyway.

 

For groups, I think holding the central control room is usually pretty easy on most waves.  By PUG standards, it's one of the easiest places to hold, because you can actually get PUGs to focus their firepower.  You just need to have one person who isn't totally focused on killing stuff and constantly runs around to check the flanks and make sure enemies aren't spawning by the back LZ.  As long as you don't let enemies sneak up on you, even the scrubbiest of Gold PUGs can hold that room pretty well.  And if you do get overrun, the enemies are almost never coming from all 3 entrances, so escape is easy. 

 

If you're talking solos though, that's different.  I don't really solo, so I can't comment on that, other than it seems like it wouldn't work.

I'm not sure what's up.  I can't seem to connect to the servers even though my internet connection is fine  .  I was hoping to play some MP again after a long hiatus.  Is it because my game (single player) is modded?

I fell into  wave 1 of Hydra Geth with three friends who had potato internet. They kept trying to camp the tower on the right. When wave 3 arrived we got devices and I ran to get the first one since I wasn't sure they would emerge. Lo and behold, two of them run over and also start deactivating the device, drawing all the fire. I get on the mic and politely say "It's ok, I've got this. It doesn't go faster if we all do it." To which they replied "Whatever. OMG, are you a girl or a 6 year old boy?" They then proceeded to die and spectate me while saying things like "wiggle that butt,"  which was utterly ridiculous as I was playing Krolard. I contemplated kiting for an hour and then quitting before killing the last enemy, but instead the host got disconnected and I bailed out.
