Uneventful

Fell into a lobby of french players all sporting the XXX<name>XXX format. They were decent enough and we extracted, a kind of uneventful match.

OT: Satisfying. AHF curried my baby batarian sentinel a few rounds and we now understand one another.

Played multiple vanilla games to test out updates to MP controller support... I don't know what was worse, the fact that was plain boring vanilla or my dad's 4mpbs down .8 up over wifi connection for like 300ms of ping.

Definitely the connection, I've tried playing at those speeds (nixing upload speed, since that is never really bad on this connection), not fun. My last experience with lag in ACMP will explain this best: Killed person right in front of me indicated as target for assassination, "Target missed." says icon on other side of the map. Standing all alone with nobody around - dead on the other side of the map. I just wont play with anything below 5mbps anymore, not worth it.

With two other PUGs, carried an under-120 N7 Asari Vanguard through two Golds. Lots of revive medals, but we did it.

Huntress synergizes just beautifully with the Batarian Adept.

I have a terrible cold, but I decide to host some Gold Matches.

 

After a couple of painful games with terrible PUGs, I decide to adjust the difficulty to the PUG's skill level.

Did some Bronze games, so.

Weird.

A smooth Gold game against Cerberus, almost nobody died. Then host suddenly quit in the beginning of Wave 6. And all three who remained were promptly stomped on and/or sync-killed on Wave 7.

Giant/Cerberus/Preset(s)

 

Dropped into a lobby with Giant/Cerberus/Gold preset by a Striker TGI Host with no gear except for Grenade Capacity V.  The other two didn't look much better, and there was a constant thumping coming over my headphones even though none of their mics were showing as active.  I left the lobby and landed GiP to an entirely different Giant/Cerberus/Gold preset.  At least this one was hosted by a Puggernaut.

Not You and a Rage Quit

 

Dropped into a reaper match, just starting wave 1. Three seconds later, the host quit. No idea why but I've a feeling. Dropped into another match an hour later, noticed a familiar name, left straightaway. 

 

Reaper again. There was only the host, then another dropped in. I noticed he kited banshees to me during one wave and went off to the other end of the map. Then in another wave, I went down the stairs and saw he was bopping a brute so I fired too. I didn't notice the third player had just gone down to banshee. Banshee popped up and got the host. He probably thought I dragged her to him.   Wave 8 was where he was gutted by banshee early, the third player and I mopped up the rest of the wave. Host rage quit.

Friend.......as in I made a new friend on xbox today.

 

 

Played some games this morning and landed in a lobby with a player named TheAnimatedOne. She was the only one with a mic and for several games she offered very friendly commentary. Nice gal!  We played one match where I took my male quarian engineer and we got geth on goddess. I ended up nuking everything with arc grenades because geth make me rage. Anyways, after the game I kinda felt bad about playing that way so I sent her a message apologizing for all the grenade spam. She apparently left while I was typing the message so after she got it she must have thought that I thought she left because of the grenade spam. She replied with a voice message saying that it was all good and that she only left to spend credits in the store because she didn't want to hold up the lobby while she went shopping. How polite  In her message she also said she wasn't done playing but if I wanted to keep playing with her to feel free to invite her back all the while admitting she wasn't that great. So I made the lobby private and sent her an invite and she rejoined! We played one more game and I was pretty much done for the day but back in the lobby she was telling me she was going to take a break. She then wondered if I could even hear her and said she felt silly looking like she was talking to herself (remember I don't have a mic) so then she sent a message asking if I could hear her. I replied with a 'yes' and over the mic she went "Yaaaaayyy!!" and continued to say something about she was happy I could actually hear what she was trying to tell me. Anyways, she sent me a friend request and I accepted. I made a new friend. 

 

Now I need to get a damn mic.

If xbox is anything like PC, then she probably plays most games as the only person on mic, which makes one paranoid that anyone can actually hear you.

(Un)Lucky

Wave 10 escort, london, the drone went on vacation, so the host had to leave. Transfer makes me host.... thats bad, i barely run at 30 FPS, with frequent drops into the sub 20 range. Thats the Un part.

Lucky part was that host rejoined the game (wasn't on my friends list, random pug), and so did the other person that dropped whenever the host transferred out. So he lost a little extra gear (provided he put more on), but still got some money from the match.

 

Then there was: German.

As in I finally found a match where people used voice. Unfortunately it sounded like german, which i don't speak.

Didn't say anything because I was paranoid I'd sound like i was trying to say they had to speak english or some such.

 

And: Laaaaagggggg

Game was fine till wave 8 ish. Then it was like someoen got onto the host's net and started torrenting porn. Solid one second of ping, with frequent spikes into the multi-second range. Somehow we managed to finish (someone else was on voice mentioning that they were getting it to, so it was hitting at least 2 of us).

Weird night, man.

 

First pug was modded to OHK everything on gold. 

 

Second pug was an open mic cheeto crunching DJ.

 

Third pug was great but lag was unbelievable. Only ones who stayed throughout the match were the host and myself, other 2 teammates kept alternating every few minutes.

 

Fourth pug I bumped into a buddy of mine only for the host to bail out like 45 seconds later after he got synced by a crab. I lost connection during migration, because of course I did, and my buddy decided to call it a night after having dealt with weird scenarios all evening as well.

 

Luckily the last 2 pugs were great. One collectors/giant and the other collectors/ghost. Everyone helping out, nice synergy, no lag. Awesome games to call it a day after.

have had to leave or quit my last three games after the first few waves because of sudden intense and uncontrollable nausea

...this is doubtlessly because i was not playing as a turian in any of them, something which i will have to correct immediately.

The Ghost and the Destroyer make it usable on Gold. I've trolled a few lobbies showing up with the Destroyer Avenger and roflstomping the poor enemies.

In a pug last night.... someone left their damn mic on and was watching a brad pitt movie ..... I think it was meet joe black   ...uuuuuugggghhhhhh...... as if collectors / rio wasn't bad enough.... now I have to listen to brad pitt?

         I felt like bringing out the ole' mattock / T-sent combo....did a quick search   ...landed in a lobby full of others with high N7's and CP's.... we roll cerberus / condor ......after running around for the 1st 2 waves..I notice something odd........I am the only one doing that.     they all decided to hold down the quarry area....half-way thru wave 4...someone hops on the mic and tells me I better join them or I will die......Yeah,mmmmmm no thanks........... but  thanks to where you guys chose to camp it up...I was able to control the spawns...all by myself.      I made a few    "interesting" choices in what to send their way.............that made for a very entertaining game.

Camping? On Condor? Man, how did they manage to get their points?! Camping is basically the worst strategy for Condor, I don't care where you want to camp, it is a bad map for it.

One day. One day I'l update our maps with arrow pointing that says
: "campers - unless you and your buddies wanna die in plat or gold don't camp here" ( I'm dead sure people learn to dominate in silver and bronze that way)

This makes me wonder, "Why isn't there a survival mode?". It would be interesting to be given a defensible position and told to hold it for as long as possible against ever increasing enemies. Sadly, I think PS3 would be unable to handle this, and wouldn't mind if it was a PC-Exclusive DLC, (Mgamerz, are you reading this? Punish people with 100 waves of ultra-diamond-titanium-super-platinum-haxxed-enemies-kill-you-now mod), I still think it would be an interesting alternative.

Knew it was a bad idea to stick with two best of the best Volus kits named numb nuts 1st & something else 1st (obviously a couple), one with Stasis M-98 Widow setup, preset to armour faction Reapers. From wave 5 onwards all they did was bleed out like a couple. And of course my only teammate, also a Salarian, was always agro dumping Banshee Warp balls from across the Jade map. Combine these stray homing Warp balls with no more gels/ops by wave 8 and swarmers, swarmers everywhere. And my Salarian became a "Injured!" One liner spewing action star. Wish I had him better set up.
