Cough. I now feel very dull - are you saying that I've never exhibited such behaviour of deserving being trolled by the mighty NMC whilst you still played PS3, in times gone long by?

 

On "Kaiju", it struck me that monsters in movies have already evolved beyond IKEA with their shopping interests. Do we really want to evolve towards that?

Just look at the picture for example :

 

Now what strikes you in this picture? (apart from comparing sizes which some instinctively does, anyway, without reading that title)

 

Right - Those poor advanced monsters can't really discern themselves from the masses. No personality. No uniquely colourful garments. It's like walking into a home in Europe filled to the brim with IKEA furniture. Seems the way things are going automatically in the future society. Like as if it becomes more difficult to be noticed - the transparent citizen - so that the cheap way of shocking (tatoos, blue hair, black clothes, swearing) doesn't even cut it nowadays. Everyone can do it - from san fran -NY- Kiev -London - Zagreb- Nice -Vancouver. Imagine the struggle 50 years from now.

Hosted a platinum PUG with one of the player obviously being a newbie, had a previous match on Dagger that went fine so I was in that mood where you figure one weak element isn't that bad. And then, we got Condor/Collectors....

 

Newbie kept getting wrecked no surprises, my other teammates, a Destroyer and a lvl 15 Drell Adept with BW were doing fine but still getting hurt pretty bad in the first waves, especially the Drell who kept dying miles away from me. 

 

Newbie left around wave 4, I was a vanilla Asari Adept with 3 points in fitness and considering how the game was going, it looked pretty obvious that I was going to have to finish some of the late waves on my own. So I was basically expecting  to get destroyed sooner or later and thus trying to save up the consumables. Still doing revives when appropriate but not doing anything too reckless. 

 

It worked and I miraculously had all my consummables when wave 6 came. Pizzas, first one was close and I ran it swiftly, second by the LZ, I reach it but get blocked by an atlas as I make my way back. Hoping for some help but I now realize my teammates are far from concerned about what's going on with the mission as they are on the other side of the map shooting at ennemies in a way that's not helping at all. Didn't look like they were merely trying to survive either, just scoring I guess.

 

Now that we've established I'm on my own, I take a rocket shoot the atlas, wait for it to explode then proceed with the running, only I'm now blocked by a praetorian and there's some turret preventing me from doing my thing. I kinda get pissed at my teammates who are still not giving a damn, drop the pizza, come back and get myself into a nasty trap of Preatorian ahead, engineer + turret behind and another turret/engineer combo further behind. Used 3 ops pack, and a gel to get out of there, get back to the pizza and be done with it. Only managed to get a reaction from my team when I got killed and used the console to tell them some help would be helpful...

 

The destroyer left the game around wave 8 as he ran out of gels, we got an AIU joining not long after, and the destroyer came back as a Talon Merc. Was pretty close but we got to extraction in the end, except one guy that got killed in the LZ 2 sec before extraction. But that's not the point, the more you get a difficult setup, the less you should be concerned about score right ? What's the point of being the top scorer of a wave 8 mission failed ? I think some players figure that as long as someone is taking care of the mission and it looks like it's going fine (meaning they're not dead) then they just leave him on his own. It's not that bad when it's one teammate but when it's all of them on Condor/Collectors/Platinum that's a bit annoying. Besides it's better to take care of it as quickly as possible

Hahaha, I hadn't had a upsetting pug experience in a while, guess I just needed to rant a little. I shouldn't even be surprised, PUG : hey, what did you expect ?

Agrhhhhhhhh.... During perfectly fine platinum game (reapers/reactor) batteries in my mouse go dead. Started dropping like crazy because it is kinda difficult to play with dying mouse and insta-revive with reload cancel. At least I had a couple of minutes enjoyment of GE+Wraith+Disruptor ammo which is always a nice thing.

Previous game to that was Giant/Cerberus, it is always nice to give those phantoms a taste of my offhost GI+Piranha (deep penetration edition).

Host was not too laggy, he was rocking GI+Javelin and did rather well, long time since I saw somebody competent play GI.

I think pop corns would be a waste. Production for extended unrated version has been permanently canceledthundadumb isn't going to happen. But few teasers/potshots will still keep being posted here and there every now and then.

Also remind me to take your challenge request seriously when you have improved your scrub level N7 valiant sniping to a certain level that you can kill two gold phantoms in less than three seconds that aren't frozen & lined up in a stasis field and can kill engineer, two centurions and a dragoon in one clip.

Yeah that still happens from time to time as well as some new glitches as well. I joined a pug game in wave 3 I think. It was hosted by a volus doing shieldboost most of the time and he would revive automatically every time he would go down. After seeing him auto res for 7th time in less than two waves I decided to leave the game.

I decided to host a game because I was tired of every match I could find being preset to Cerberus.  I ended up with three people with low level rare weapons and no equipment who insta-readied the second the got into the lobby.  Well, OK, not true.  One of them was using Cryo Ammo I...  I was using one of my better kits (ARC HEngie) so I decided to just go for it.  This is one reason why I don't host.  I feel like I have a responsibility to carry anyone and everyone through a match, instead of just bailing the lobby if it looks bad.

 

And we got Condor/Collectors.   Two of them left the game on wave two after they bled out within 30 seconds after the wave started.  By this point I had already realized that taking any risk at all to revive any of the three of them just wasn't worth the effort.  Which left just myself and a TGI (who didn't seem to have a cloak OR Stim packs ) to do the wave 3 escort.  Wave 4 we were joined by a GPS Flamertrooper who was sort of decent.  But we still wiped on wave 8 after I blew all my gels, ops, and missiles on the wave 6 hack - you know, the one on the balcony overlooking the starting LZ, where Praetorians just stream into the hack from one side while you only get a few seconds were they are visible to shoot at them before they get there.  Apparently no-one else felt like using missiles.

You can add a silver lining to that sort of match by considering it solo practice with three salarian engi decoys that move and sometimes shoot back. You will feel much better about it. Also if pugs that fill up the lobby are like that then don't feel even a slight bit bad about using the cheesiest and OP/broken kits and carrying them pugs like a bawss.

Ugh. Think geth can be annoying? try geth that teleport around like banshee's on coffee and cocaine. So many shots missed because, SUPRISE, that rocket trooper was actually about three meters to the right, and decided to go over there right before I fired.

 

Actually had two matches like that, dagger hazard, and then again with a different host cerberus/white. White was worse, at least the pugs in dagger would gel, the ones in White refused to.

 

On a more comedic note, earlier, in a match with good solid connection, I was playing the Shadow. Badly decided to heavy melee a flamer geth. Was too far away to lock on, and I don't know why I even bothered. Next thing I know an invis hunter comes around the corner walking into my heavy melee, right in time to be beheaded.
