Damn Dagger diarrhea and damn geth. Whenever I go U/U/P I am guaranteed to get that combo, it is not that we don't extract, matches go rather smoothly I am just bored of the combo of my least favorite map and least favorite faction repeating every time I wanna play. I got that combo every day for the last week. If I wasn't hosting I would quit those matches same moment I saw it....

Please, make it stop.

Geth/Giant Hazard/Gold. Great duo with a skilled but underpowered (Harrier I+BW I) Destroyer who joined around wave 2. Two more PUGs tried to join, but left without moving. Extracted, of course.

Geth Plasma Shotgun with Phasics and all GI bonuses is an ungodly mook killer. It's especially pleasant to stick some plasma up those Hunters' asses.

Three random UUG games with three randoms each time and each game under 20 minutes, lag or no lag, including geth/London, reapers/Rio and cerberus/Hydra which are pretty tough on their own. Not sure what is going on today, but it seems like a good day.

There is a certain joy that can't be expressed properly in words when gold games with pugs are completed under 20 minutes.

Hectic

Applies to my last three pugs.  Ghost/Cerberus/Gold, Hydra/Cerberus/Gold, and Dagger/Cerberus/Gold. (Does EVERY "unknown" match have to be Cerberus?)  All three involved pugs with absolutely no concept of co-op at all.  They just scattered around the maps and flailed around like lunatics.

I ran a Widow HI on Ghost, and spent the entire match watching the other three's backs to keep Phantoms off of them while they tunnel-visioned the Atlases.

Then ADAS Cryosoldier on Hydra.  On wave 6, one of them got impaled on the first device.  I got over there in time to cover the second guy, who finished the device and then ran straight into a mob of Phantoms and Dragoons, died, instagelled, and got impaled.  I spent the next 45 seconds clearing a stream of phantoms off of device #2, before doing that one myself, and then the same for the third, and fourth, while pug #3 was busy padding his score and spawning things on top of the objectives.

I followed that up with my Hurricane Cabal on Dagger.  This time two of the pugs ignored the objectives, but fortunately the Justicar was decent enough, so it actually didn't go to badly, despite the fact that all four of us were doing our own separate fights on far corners of the map most of the time.  Aside from the heart attacks I'd keep getting as I'd come around the corner to see this Phantom, who I killed with NSB on wave 3, and just stayed there the rest of the match.  (I do like the nicely diagonal line of phantoms across the screen...)

Great.

Pugs were great. Got pretty lucky, because I couldn't change my host lobby all day today, for science. So I was forced to play with the pugs I was dealt. Great times. Though some weapon challenges, like the TSol Punisher that one match (which also completed entire challenge in one match too), sadly left nothing for the pugs to kill too. So I tossed in some other stuff to balance it out, like ADAS. ... Thought whenever I scared off all the pugs once back in the lobby, was the few times I had a small break to myself. Either way, was nice seeing which pugs stuck around the longest, and which would end up even returning later.

N71

Hooray!

He was N714 by the end of two gold matches.

We had very similar, N71, their first game apparently (not even packs opened), on silver.

He/she tried camping the LZ, but after we nicely pointed out that isn't wise, they actually listened. :)

There is hope yet for the Pugdom.

Smooth

Dagger/Collectors/Gold.  My Lancer QFE joined a very chatty Russian girl (Paladin), a not so chatty Russian guy (Destroyer), and a very squishy salarian infiltrator.  Both the Russians were good players, though the Paladin did panic a couple of times and missile things needlessly.  Considering that 90% of the people who actually use mics on PC are Russian, maybe I should consider learning it!

Sting

And not the musician type. Went pugging for some Turian Ghost waves + Phaeston challenges for the fun of it. Got again one of those Pugs who went nukehappy on w11 when he noticed he's not top scoring. I put on the mic just to say he could've put even one of those missiles in better use on the previous w10 Targets. I hope that emphasized the stinging he apparently was feeling, and I'm sure the multinuking and thereby outscoring me by 2k (lol!) was really worth it. I had to laugh. :D

Unnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Thought I'd celebrate finishing the main body of my dissertation with a relaxing game.

RNG gods said: hahahahaha.  No.

Got thrown into a Hazard Ghost/Collectors match on wave 1.  First sign things might be bad were on Wave 3, when I was hacking the devices and no-one was even trying to keep the enemies off me.  Had to burn a gel and a missile to get through that.  Wave 6, more devices.  Needed two missiles this time.  By this point, the Cabal had spent more time executed than actually playing, and the Vorcha with the Black Widow appeared to be setting off the Praetorian bubble on purpose.

By wave 10 I had 3 medigel, 2 ops packs and 2 missiles.  And (of course), we got an escort.  By some miracle of missiling everything, abusing ops packs, cover, the Paladin's DR and Snap Freeze, we managed to actually complete the escort.  At which point, I promptly exploded two possessed abombinations on my team mates and cleared out the trash.  Wave 11 I camped at the back while the entire wave budget descended on the rest of the team.  The two leechers in all but name got executed, while the other competent team mate fled.

In the last second in the LZ, I got taken down by a possessed abombination.  No extraction credits for me.

I prefer wave 11 nukes over wave 1-10.

You're better off doing the killing. Eventually a pug will get on a device, in which case you'll do a much better job keeping enemies off him then an entire pug army trying to keep enemies off you (which is more like luring luring enemies and splash damage to you).

Yeah, I don't get some people. By the point you start doing gold you have to be willfully stupid to not know when that bubble goes up.

I get accidentally triggering it, but some people.. ugh. *facedesk*

Do those things show up in bronze? if so you should probably have figured it out by the time you move into silver.

Well, that was what I was hoping, but after a minute of waiting, it seemed unlikely.  In theory though, absolutely, being a Paladin especially.  Just snap freeze repeatedly and you can hold off all the basic troopers without effort.

The bubble?  I think so.  I think the missiles from the possessed praetorian are the only feature not in Bronze, from what I can recall.  But its been a while, so I don't know for sure.

If it had been a flamer vorcha, it may not have been so bad.  But it was a lame engineer vorcha.  Tech bursts are not going to defeat the Collectors!

I was actually wondering about the preatorians themselves. Couldn't remember if bronze held back some bosses or something.
Its been a while since I played bronze, and I never actually played collectors in bronze. Moved on up before that DLC came out.

But yeah, if they're there its should become apparent very quickly that the bubble pops when you use powers and its flying.

All enemies appear on bronze, but the higher tier enemies have a spawn cap (IE: 1 banshee per wave, 2 brutes, one at a time, etc). Also, they appear on less waves.

Geth get prime respawn once I believe.

Collectors just cheat, I don't know if they even have a spawn cap...

Oh in that case, yeah, it's as Arkhne says.   And to be honest, this game has been out so long at this point, there's no excuse for anything except an unmaxed manifest (because the RNG gods are cruel and demanding).

A quick google search will reveal any mechanic (probably in a BSN thread) or answer to almost any question you could ask about the game at this point. There is no excuse for playing on Gold/Plat and NOT knowing.

PugTryingtoGlitchHydra

So I GiP into Hydra/Plat/Reapers mid wave 1

Host is a Demogirl glitching in that spot in the back

I resist killing anything until the pug comes out and tries to kill the last banshee, took him maybe 5 mins, while I watched, another pug spawns in LZ and banshee takes him down

Wave 2. Pug goes back to glitching spot and a Fury comes in and kills stuff until realizing what I'm doing and Demolisher is glitching and bleeds out. Pug glitcher finally comes out again because no enemy is coming close enough for him to kill but he eventually goes down and I make sure he bleeds out then I run up to banshee to get a new piercing thus ending this charade.

Game ends with no credits to the pug, but I'm sure he will try again

I leave
