Someone kept trying to do a device with me too a few days ago. :( I don't know why because it doesn't make it go any faster I don't think... it was just a waste of time x

It was a double tap. If one player got staggered by dragoon's whip or picked up by banshee other could complete the device. -_-

Salarians

Joined with only one person, we were both salarians infiltrators. An engineer joined, then 4th switched to engineer when he saw what was up. We made quick work of some collectors on ghost

Rare

It's not everyday you see a level 1 human soldier, with an N7 of 1, equipped with an avenger I and a mantis I, drop into a gold lobby. :) Plus points for confidence. Their contribution matched their loadout, but they stayed with the team, didn't need too many revives (and considering we drew cerberus, that's quite a feat), and they did their best to contribute during objectives. I hope they'll get something good out of the credits they got... and perhaps playing on the lower difficulties for a while might give them a more satisfying experience, if less credits and xp ;)

Last time someone tried that with me he got hit by an atlas rocket, we both geot staggered and we both died. I don't really like that "technique", I see how it can help but 2 or 3 teammates making sure no one touches you is always better in my experience. Especially since depending on the ennemy, its direction etc. there' usually no way to place yourself in a way that you won't both get hit for sure.

The double tap is usually done as mistake, a joke between friends (because it doesn't make the device go faster), or out of desperation. Sometimes a device can be more or less in the middle of the map and the device hacker is constantly being targetted and the defenders simply can't cope. So if you do a double tap, make sure there's a good spacing between yourselves. To reduce the risk of the enemy fire blast radius hitting you both.

Mrrraahhhahahahah!

I decided to have another go at the Warlord, because I really need to find a melee build I like to use up all my strength enhancers.  Dropped into Glacier/Geth/Gold.  Along with three Kroguards!  It was awesome watching a spawn vanish under a Krogan stampede.  It was a lot of fun and a very easy match.  But I still don't like the Warlord.

What pugs?

No pugging and playing today... thought I was going to play with some AHF BSNers I used to play with tonight... but I forgot the future is not set and things didn't go according to plan. Would like to say maybe tomorrow, but you know.

So if you do a double tap, make sure there's a good spacing between yourselves. To reduce the risk of the enemy fire blast radius hitting you both.

I get the joke, I've done it a few times myslef actually. The only time I think double tap is efficient is when you see that the one doing the device chose a very bad position and is likely to get hit or killed. Then if you ascertain that it will be easier and less costly to do the double tap, positioning yourself in a way that allows you to get solid cover, it can be a smart and secure move.

Other than that I don't really see the benefit. If a device is so hard to do that defenders can't keep up, the odds of the double tap succeeding are really slim + you lose one defender and get more aggro on the same exact spot where you'd need less aggro. Not saying it'll never work, I still like my chances better trying other things.

There's a few basic ways to deal with tough devices but most of the time you need your teammates to be on the same page which is a rare occurence in PUG. Sometimes , If the device is really tough, depending on how my teamates behave, I'll decide that I'll have better odds of doing it on my own or with whoever is left standing and knows what has to be done.

Horde. HORDE. Horde? Horde.

Pugged into a Silver lobby, was getting ready for a few relaxing waves. Load into the map (Dagger), and there are hordes of enemies of all varieties everywhere! Turns out the host was running the "last stand" mod. Switched to my BatSlash w/ Harrier. Three straight matches we wiped on wave 10. Fourth match (original Glacier!), I quit trying to shoot anything and just spammed Warp + grenades (the stagger worked wonders). That helped, and everyone extracted.

Laggy as all F!

White/RippaZ/Gold

I had a bad feeling when it took ages to find a game. And just as I hit that cancel, the game decided to load in on a match. Getting magnetgrabbed 20 meters away isn´t fun. At all. Still managed to extract and not to embarass myself. Much.

First match since February went fine. My Krentinel killed lotsa rippahs. Of course the other three players killed more but at least two were krogunz and understood the importance of intra-wave headbutting. I only got bansheegrabbed four times.

Had a Bronze match with a KroLord PUG. No matter how much I headbutted him, he ignored me. Heathen!

Oh sweet angels dancing on a pogo stick LLLLAAAGGGG.

Would swing my biotic hammer at a brute, knowing I had enough oomph with rage and martial artist going to kill it.

It wouldn't die, i'd think, "okay, maybe it missfired?"

Then the brute would hit and damage me.

and THEN it would die, and I'd pop up in the kill feed as having killed it with the hammer.

Of course the damage would remain (Still be without shields or whatnot.)

I'm pretty sure the host was someone on a DSL connection from the moon.

lag-nolag-lag

First was a horrible game on a Canadian host. By the time I would zoom in with indra ready to shoot and start pulling the trigger, the target would be dead no matter what including bosses. I barely managed to kill anything but enemies also largely ignored me. Second was a nice short game on a Russian host, almost no lag, very enjoyable and smooth. Third was a lagfest with a host on East coast. There were two puggernauts and me as GI and the enemies completely ignored puggernauts and targeted me and only me exclusively. In my case they ignored walls, my cloak, proxy mine stagger and disruptor ammo. I died no matter what and no matter how I tried to dodge or take cover, hard or soft. Finally, on wave 9, I just cloaked and hid in the corner out of sight and the whole spawn marched after me ignoring everyone else. I watched them closing in through the hunter mode and when they got close, I quit the game. So sorry, dear pugs, you ain't getting more of these revive medals.

Not likely. It could have been that FIOS guy from New York. I frequently get dropped into his lobby and it is horrible. Ping is reasonable but due to lost packets, there is always a lot of teleporting, glitching, and rubberbanding. I'd take DSL from the moon over him any time.

Lone Survivor

White/Geth/Plat

Was actually looking for gold, but then the host switched to plat and I was like, hmmkay, just need a different weapon and I´m good to go. It was for the most part a good ride, but apparently I didn´t throw enough nades on w11. One by one fell and I was the one that made extraction. Me nao a sad sumthin.
