I heard somewhere here on BSN that silverPUGs are the worst... cannot be true I thought and searched an UUS with my lvl 4 Asari Vanguard...
what can I say... it is utterly true - no reviving, no helping with objectives, cluelessness ... needless to say, we failed
but I was lvl 5 or 6 after that and searched UUG
smooth game, competent players, and I took some (ok: great ^^) joy in being first on the scoreboard

I am back on my PS3 grind. I went to gamestop last night and bought me a new one. set it up this morning...pick my favorite vanilla asari-dept w paladin combo..threw on all consumables...I specifically searched for a cerberus game..... dropped into a wave 4 jade / cerby game...there was something very weird happening...as soon as anything looked at me...I dropped almost immediately ...even just a regular mook..barely shoots at me...shields dropped and health gated...I died 5 times within the 1st 4 minutes of dropping into this game....I'm getting very angry...next wave same deal... I am thinking it's lag or something...cuz I havent seen shields drop this fast on gold with a cyclon 2 before...after dying for the 8th or 9th time in wave 5...that was enough..I burned thru most of my gels and ops packs cuz of how mad I was......I quit. I get back to the menu screen ..look at my character ... ( forgot to mention I am pretty damn high off my pain meds) my level 19 asari adept had nothing specd....not 1 single point into anything. You think I would have noticed the having no power options on the screen as I was playing....but nope...the dope I took is dope...............

Let me guess - he told you that he is quite used to 80ms actual delays, friends like it, he prefers hosting, and pings to google at 13ms...

I'm kinda yacked out of my skull right now thanks to some pain meds....I went into that match without specing my character.....that post was me calling myself a rage quitting idiot..cuz I should've looked at my character before I jumped in the game,,,,,,also, I just checked with FedEx..my PC copy should be here by tomar... Also, BOTTOM LINE KIDS....... dont do drugs before you decide to drop into a match with an unspecd character or else you might just find yourself....

This is a fact.. I just witnessed 2 people standing right on top of a dying teammate, whom they refused to revive on multiple occasions.....it was kind of a sad sight...

I see you had one of those games where you wanted to blame the host for your performance.
Anybody with the slightest clue about how the internet work knows that no connection is a direct peer to peer link, and travels through multiple servers along the way. And no matter what connection either end client has, the connection between each of the servers in between is unaffected by either client. Even if both end clients have good connections at their end, large delays and packet loss are still possible.
That's not opinion, it is fact. There's no point complaining about it any more than there is complaining that rain is wet.

Running 'dxdiag' is a good start, it doesn't tell you everything, but it's free, and comes with an essentially mandatory program. If it turns out that you are running Intel's onboard gfx, it gets a little tricker, since the internal model is notoriously difficult to find, on top of the chipset being buggy and generally incompatible.
Your best bet on finding the model number of an Intel (HD) Graphics is checking out the motherboard/laptop(whichever you are using) specs.
If it's pre-i3, you're likely running one of the generally incompatible ones. Anything before Intel HD 4000 is essentially worthless.
I think I am running the 3200 series, meaning I can't do much of anything, processing wise, I generally manage, but my gfx bottlenecks too much, and 16-20fps (or worse in some cases) is common in newer games.

Yep, have seen this too many times on silver, too. Across the whole board, that level seems to attract the biggest ¤%&/@s in the game.
I usually called them out on this behaviour, when I have to run a long way just to see there's some sturdy one like a Puggernaut, standing on top of a dying teammate... not reviving. Repeatedly. That one time I told them that if they go down, I'll apply the same courtesy towards them, and not revive. I thought there was very slim chance of that, but whaddayaknow, the pugger goes down, and everyone lets him bleed out. (Clearly no gel, either.. sigh)
I believe some evil laughter and a sad-trombone 'awww' were let out by some mean Finnish lady over the mic at that point. He quit on w9.

Ha. Then they need to go back to bronze. I guess this applies to the 'down' button on PS3, too.. for some, it is really difficult to find.
Ive had a few people not revive me... always on silver... everyone is nice on bronze... there was also a geth swearing I found on silver... Im starting to believe you might be right 
I'm still thinking of what crazy odds to have two pugs join with "FluffyKitteh" in their name.
I guess they are BFFs forever now. I just dropped into their Hydra preset, they were wall glitching together. Also my Raider had 200 spare ammo capacity. I arrived just in time to witness the Wave 3 Objective fail, because I wouldn't do it for them and they died as soon as they came inbounds.
I'm gonna search for Hydra and see if I can mess it up again
I'm going to play silver Hydra tonight to check out these shenanigans.
I only tried to Hydra glitch one... as the Paladin... and failed....
Some boring person came and missile glitched. Jugger decided to glitch out into the sea, looked really cool with a Jugger floating in the distance. No idea how it happened. but it inspired me to try to glitch onto the dam. I failed, I ended up IN the dam.

I don't play that much Silver, and normally, it's so easy that I don't even really notice whether the PUGs are good or bad. But every once in a while, I'll be playing a Silver game with a Volus/Locust or something and get Collectors, and then I'll start to notice how bad they truly are.
I feel like most Silver games are a mix of (1) terrible players who have enough of a conscience not to play Gold or Platinum but not enough to play Bronze where they belong, (2) people who want to scorewh*re but aren't good enough to do it on Gold, or (3) really, really, really drunk people.

Definitely qualify me for #3..every night..thats where I wind up after playing with 1-2 bad gold pugs in a row...going back to silver to knock out them viper challenge points while punching a banshee in the face with an off-host drell vanguard.

Nope, ^^^^^^ I witnessed the 2 of them doing this multiple times on the same waves to the same guy..he would be dead right in front of them, sometimes they were even standing right on top of him...they would just stand there ... I kept running from what I was doing to pick him up.......when we got back to the lobby...those 2 both had way above average N7 & CP's ..and the geth engee who kept eating dirt was brand new. I only see behavior like that on silver..that and wcoreshoring....I rarely see wcoreshoring on gold nowadayz..at least until wave 11 starts

GIP'd into a Reactor Collectors Plat on my Paladin. There was a Kroguard and a Asarinfiltrator and I think a GI. I forget what wave I got in, probably 2. Fairly early on regardless...
Anyways, just more proof that score means nothing. I top scored but I can tell you I played in all my scurby goodness. The Kroguard did a wonderful job, same with the Asari. Didn't see much of the GI and he got him/herself positioned poorly a lot... but so did I...
Wound up scoring highest. Didn't play the bestest. We all made it through to extraction. With the prodigious use of revive circles and missiles.

I think this proves that I need to do a playthrough where Wrex survives. I think my ME2 Winfiltrator has an alive Wrex. Is there anyway in-game to check if Wrex is alive? Maybe Shadow Broker has a Dossier?
