BBQ Pugling

Unlike most on this forum I do not normally attempt to fry anyone in the reactor, and this time was no different.

A Possessed Praetorian and a Scion both enter the reactor, so i hit the button .. then all three of my teammates go running by into the reactor. If I had a mic on I might have warned them, but I didn't.

Got some free revivies ...

I should have added "not very skilled" along casual, because the level of N7 and CP is clearly not a great indicator of skills. I find your posts contradictory, as you first say that you don't care about being outscored, and then complain about players wanting to "win" the scoreboard. Besides, there can be other reasons for people to use "OP" setups : they may have had a terrible game previously, just want something easy to relax or to complete a challenge as soon as possible, are tired, etc. Why picking and generalizing the worst possible explanation ?

I would have loved so much to have more PUGs doing a good amount of damage...

Many of them are very good at the game, it's not a question of being out scored etc, but when a highly skilled player shows up for gold with a load out like that the whole game is trivialized and for me not very entertaining anymore.

Lag. Yet was lag that worked in my favor. I got stabbed by a phantom yet did not die.

Salute. You struck the nail on its head.

Max, they are meaning it in a humourous way -> irony, to be exact :) life is serious enough on its own.

OT: Glorious. Juggie with Lancer. Limitless ammo [ltd]. 4x L6 Siege Pulse detonations. Almost as glorious as Chivers Old English Marmelade. Man, I will miss those in future.

Haha....this so much...sometimes when i'm playing a squishy kit like a demolisher, i will throw on cyclonic 4, with AP4 ammo/Typhoon...this usually happens after an annoying failed game with cerb or geth..... <_< .... ....but yeah i don't mind pugs using powerful kits, that's what the game is for....I have noticed tho, that even when you have high end equipment or consumables on, that attracts more arrgo to you as well. I've tested this theory quite a few times so even if these pugs are arming themselves to the teeth, they are still taking on a bit more arrgo, than you, if you have on lower leveled equipment and ammo powers...

Me personally I will throw cyclonic 4 on certain kits in gold because of the squishy factor...no fun playing if a few bullets will put you in the red quick and you are either running or dodging all game...

Dagger Ladder Of Annoyance

That one ladder, no matter what, it just sucks you back to it. It is the one ladder in the game that refuses to let you dodge / roll / flip past it!

Hate that thing.

Otherwise smooth pug match

New Bug (For myself)

Go to start a 3 player match, land at the start of wave 1 by myself. Get halfway thru wave 1 before others start to join. But here's the thing, I was playing a vanguard and I could clearly tell I wasn't the host! Somehow I played half a wave solo as a non host. Weird ...

Yeah, the thing about having players who hugely outscore everyone is that it just makes the match boring. I'm not a fan. :/

Tip: Have you tried walking backwards down it? You can die with low health, this way, but it saves 2 seconds of animation...

It's not easy to forget what you've learned after 8000+ games and nearly 2800 hours.

You will be outscored by some players and sometimes by a large degree because, you know, they paid their dues.

I'm not saying they have to play badly, but dropping into lobbies with clearly less experienced players (by which I mean people who are actually at gold level and aren't just newbies hoping to get carried) and then running the whole match for them is really obnoxious imo. The veteran players shouldn't be the only ones who get to have fun; they should be conscious of the fact that their skill level makes them more of an annoyance than an asset.

How the hell should they play?

PROTIP: Co-op game. Dividends split equally at the end. Everyone's a winner even if you anchor the bottom spot on a meaningless scoreboard eternally.

There is always the option to tone down the overkill a bit, if Mr. 2800 hours played insists on bringing his TGI/Harrier to gold he can use less powerful consumables instead of slapping on AP IV, AR III and AC V.

Watching the game from spectator mode as Mr 2800 hours runs the show showing the less experienced or experienced players not using OP stuff who's the "bawz" isn't really fun for anyone. Now you might argue about how someone have earned the right to use the hard earned toys etc etc, but maybe he/she can bring the party to a lobby with like minded people instead.

Cough. That's the ultimate level of skill, after you have done challenges, solos, HOF, Prestacious' themed events. Bad PUGs is the pinnacle show of capability of a real DAWG.

- they compensate in stupidity that goes far beyond predictable AI mechanics or game glitches. It takes great skill to anticipate the unpredictable. It has broken the spirit of many great players on the PS3, now fallen from grace, no DAWGS anymore, but simply old toothless men with yarns from yesteryear.

insists on bringing his TGI/Harrier to gold

One of my least played kits. Way to generalize (and the condescending tone looks nice on you).

So when I use the lowly vanilla Asari carrying an Eagle with nary a shot fired on my behalf (nothing gets a puggernauts attention like an enemy in stasis) and still wind up on top then what? Am I supposed to just stop playing the game because my fun time ended when I reached an unknown hidden level? Maybe I should turn off the monitor to make it more of a challenge and even the odds for everyone else.

This pretty much. I use most of my OP kits (namely Sabre/TGI, Jav/GI and Claymore/AIU) on plat. Hmm, I believe I have to redo the Avenger challenge. I think it´s time to brush off my TGI.

Scorewhoring. The classic not doing the objectives, spawnrocketing, dying a lot type. Still, after all of his rockets and two killstreak, he only led by a thousand points. I had all six, so I used one to kill two Brutes and a Banshee with just 10 seconds left and ran to extraction. He ragequitted instantly (he was the host), as this made me lead by 2-3k, but totally worth it :D

And why would you think I was referring to you specifically? You know as well as I do that plenty of highly experienced players uses set-ups like that in public gold games.

Sorry if you took that as a personal offense, it wasn't the intention.
