ON:

Forgetable.

I really don't recall right now but I'm sure I made someone feel bad for being ahead of them.

OFF:

And why would you think I was referring to you specifically?

I guess quoting me and using something I mentioned in a previous post has that effect without qualifiers.

You know as well as I do that plenty of highly experienced players uses set-ups like that in public gold games.

I do indeed. I also adjust my play style based on what I am seeing. Say if a team is really struggling I will not hesitate to pull out a missile and try to switch a target if I can. Being a cagey opportunist, I will also nuke a spawn if a really great chance presents itself. Usually Glacier/Cerb. when they logjam in the lower room. It's just too good to pass up wiping out four phantoms, an atlas and a handful of engineers.

Some other things I tend to do: deal with the enemies swarming the downed body of a teammate before reviving them. Because nothing says 'I love team play!' like rezzing your pal in front of a banshee/crab/phantom and running away to let them fend for themselves. Private lobbies and annoying PUGs are another matter and reviving them in front of the sync killers may or may not be intentional.

I use medi-gel religiously. Mainly because most PUGs try the above mentioned tactic of rez/retreat/umad bro? I didn't enlist for battle to lay around and catch a tan on Dagger. I'm there to fight and have the means to patch myself up so why not? This is one thing even the less experienced vets sometimes refuse to do. Get up if you can. Instead of laying there waiting for someone to beat feet across the map to save you, just push that button and start increasing your score.

I don't get to the top of the scoreboard because I'm a try-hard. I get there often because I've seen it all and can handle just about anything the game throws at me now. Regardless of kit/gear used.

The funniest thing about this score bashing is that the ones moaning about it now will someday probably face the same accusations. Full circle.

I try to do the same. But there's nothing like murdering everything around a fallen teammate and they gel as you kill the last marauder that was going for the stomp...smh

To be fair, sometimes your "dead vision" is very limited and you literally can't see anything around you - neither teammates nor enemies who come literally out of Unseen Nowhere to stomp you.

This is true and I should have mentioned that I'm telling the person I got the revive and the kill don't gel. I guess sometimes they just don't listen/turn the volume up

Yes sure, that's very good general advice but not really the point of the discussion.

One day I'm OP, the next I'm faceplanting and dragging the team down.

If I worried about what other people thought of my score, high or low, I'd stop playing. If I worried whether every PuG I run into is "having enough fun" I'd go crazy. If the worst thing that happens to a Gold player is a roflstomp with an OP player, I don't really see that as a bad day (especially compared to the above-mentioned "faceplant mode.")

Three PUGs at Wave 10 suddenly wiped and bled out (far from objective devices, even). Had to essentially solo the wave while talking on the phone.

At Wave 11, they didn't die, but two of them forgot to extract. Blimey.

If I'd heard that proverb, I would have got my divorce years earlier.

Rude.

I played several games where I waited for people to get ready before readying up so they wouldn't be pressured. I carried the team pretty hard in all three (2 as Geth Trooper, one as Shadow). Then I finally get the Typhoon to use on my Devastator. THE ONE TIME I need to level a character, people get super impatient (including the scrubs I carried) and don't wait for me, forcing me to ready/unready and the SECOND I finish leveling, they all leave.

That's gratitude for ya.

Clueless Jug

Dropped into a Collectors gold match with my AA. It was laggy and the jug did a couple of spawn kills. Just for kicks and to pop off my annoyance, I went up to the jug and fired at him deliberately at the end of a wave.  He probably thought it's a challenge to him to get the top spot or because he was in the top spot, I didn't know since I never bothered to check who's on top. In the next wave, he promptly let loose his missiles at spawns. Huzzah. Juvenile reaction.     It was hilarious. If he thought I'll reply in kind, he was in for a disappointment.

Fun :) i completed dark sphere use and dark channel use in the same game both were on like 80% before :)

Before that I had a game as a Fury and a stupid engineer kept ruining my explosions!

Hey easy on the Engineers, especially if Vanilla Female Engineer. But yeah I feel for your Fury, a Fury's power should never be interfered with, rude...

It was a human male... so thats allowed right??? ;)

I know! I had a fun moment as a Fury where I used dark channel on a cannibal at the start of a wave... then throw... the dark channel changed to another cannibal... throw again... dark channel changed again... throw again... I just kept having to use throw and that was all and all the cannibals and marauders died... I realized that if I use dark channel on a marauder... then throw.. one explosion... then I can get in close with annihilation field and do another immediately after and then the marauder dies... thats probably common sense really but its nice to know for me haha ;)

But yes he kept interfering with my explosions and mine were more powerful and it was annoying... the 2 things people do that annoy me in this game are breaking my stasis and interrupting my explosions it ruins my rhythm which ruins my concentration which makes me die ;)

The Fury is a beast once you get accustomed to her, especially on small map that offer enough cover.

I understand what you mean about interfering with your biotic explosions, or someone breaking stasis right before that throw was about to detonate it. It's always very frustrating to me, on the other hand, the way I see it you can't blame the other player for it. The only thing you can do is try to get better at not letting techs interfere with your biotics, which can be really hard even for hardcore veteran players.

With the Fury, one way to do it is advantage of your speed (especially if AF is specced on speed) to rush spawns were you think you'll be alone, or at least thatyou will reach first. Once you get good with the Fury you're able to destroy mooks in a heartbeat, a whole spawn if silver and lower. Then, when you've done your thing or allies start to join, try to go for another spot. Sometimes players have a tedency to all rush the same spawn at the same time because it's the closest. If three of your teammates are all going for the same spot, even if it's closest, you can always take a different road and you'll be able to wipe a whole spawn by yourself. Fury FTW

Valiant  Javelin

Went sniping today, first with hubby as a geth team, later with Pugs. Haven't really been sniping much due to eyesight problems, but it was easy and fun enough on silver. :) Learned to use and like the Javelin.

Varying pugs, occasionally did a whole lot of reviving, some were memleaky (pugs need to learn to restart their ps3s even occasionally) but most games were good.

Not the high/lowlights thread but as a low: had to stop playing as eyes got too tired.

**edited: was using the Javelin. Derp. Definitely time for bed **

That moment when you're walking through the Wastes for the first time, and you come across a dismembered high-level Radscorpion.
