Werewolf would be awesome, when i saw that whole part in the game i so wished i could have gotten myself bitten too bad, could be fun though not piratical enough to have good enough reactions from others to be playable i think =\\

i'd like the Qunari to be a playable race, and maybe Darkspawn who have split from the "horde". seeing as that the original Darkspawn were the Tevinter mages, maybe some of them have reclaimed their humanity (or sanity) and created their own faction in the hopes of living a "normal" life.

Two words: Half. Ling.

Seriously though, Qunari would be the obvious next playable race we might see, since it was originally intended to be one of the origins.

And who wouldn't want to play a badass, giant, klingon-esque, mongol-esque dealer of pwnage?

As it looks from the limited info we have on the Blight, darkspawn as playable characters seems to be unlikely.

I really hope the Darkspawn do become playible. I'll admit, I'm a drizzit fan... wait before you jump on me... I hate drizzit himself and all of his little friends, but I love the sub-characters who tend to be realistic, deep, and anything but invincible.

One character is an Orc leader who literally cuts giants in half... vertically. He seems to be a cold hearted killer, even cutting up and eating two of Drizzit's friends. Long story short, he's actually not the dumb brute he appears to be (although he is still 100% bad ass) he starts a huge campiegn agianst dwarfs, elves, and humans to purposfully reach a stalemate... his goal... to force the dwarfs, elves, and humans to acknowledge the orcs as an equal race and power, open trade routes, and create peace for his people. He achieves this, creates the first peacefull orc city, and pretty much leads Orcs into a new era where their the "good" guys in a loose sense.

It's actually really cool. On one hand Orcs are brutal monsters who love violence, blood, and all that stuff. On the other hand their honestly trying to better themselves. So it's a very tricky shade of grey. Do the Humans, Elves, and Dwarves help the orcs thus creating a new and powerfull ally and achieveing long lasting peace... but risk creating a monster? Drizzits a pretty dull and flat character, but in one scene he's truly torn. He finds himself forced into killing Orc-hunters... who are simply getting revenge on the orcs that killed their immediate family members. Something he feels horrible about because he's killed countless orcs and has had loved ones killed by orcs. Yet now he's killing those who are doing what he previously did... perfect shade of grey for dragon age!

PS- I hope they become playible, but I highly doubt they ever will be.

Wishpig, I hate you for liking one of the stupidest franchises ever made it is totaly ok for you to like Drizzt.  He is a very stupid character with no depth well loved  by 12 year old nerds in the gaming community.

You know what i remembered when i read that book? Warcaft 3 lol although not specifically the same but the idea was there. Orcs trying to be civilized, or making others see that they are.

Itt: Trolls trolling trolls.

In all seriousness though, perhaps the ability to make a Qunari. It's suggested that they have no Grey Wardens but surely a few of them must be around to be recruited.

It's pretty damn funny you say this now. I haven't read a Drizzit book in... I dunno... like two or three years now. I just recently picked up the pirate king... and I'll be damned I can't **** take it! IT'S SO DAMN CORNY! I read 70 pages and gave up. Don't get me wrong, I'm still a fan of Salvatar, his Highway Man books taking place in a unique and VERY dark world (Dragon Age fans would love the series, although it's very very very anti-religious). But christ, I can't put up with Drizzit anymore.

I really don't know if I should take the op seriously or not. Half dragons? Really? Thats just stupid. Would you bang a dragon? You have some odd fantasies if you want to bang a dragon.
You would also have to create lore and such for new races. We need a half dwarf race though.
Qunari wouldn't be so bad either but, it wouldn't work.

how would a Qunari not work?
they are a people, they are sentient, they fight darkspawn (when they see them), some of them break away from their society.

what about them wouldn't work?

Half dragons don't make any sense since dragons in DA aren't sentient and can't polymorph into other races.

New races should have a place in the world's lore. Maybe a race spawned from spirit/demon possessed creatures.

OGRE RACE!! imagine that you start off coming out of a broodmother in the deep roads you do like 2 tiny quests involving Dwarven Scout units Then suddenly Duncan and the grey wardens attack  BUT they capture you while your entire War band was killed they take you to Ostagar where during the large Night battle you escape and join the battle! and the ogre that killed Duncan and Cailan WAS YOU!!!! yha that would be AWESOME!!

OR!!! GOLEM RACE!
you start off as a dwarf Until the king summons you and caridin forces you to become a golem!=]

SOMEONE MAKE THIS MOD!:wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard:
