Honestly, the dev's for this sucker punched me as bad as Rock* did with GTAV

Infact, I distinctly remember it being slated for quarter 1 release this year. I've had it paid off for ages.

What do we know so far, not much! There's a gameplay demo from a while back ( looks incredible ) and all those trailers that do nothing but make me slobber all over the place.

R6, battlefield, and gears are my go to, purchase every title game series. I can't wait! Posted Image

UBISOFT is good at inadvertently announcing things that should not be announced. You know this happened before with Splinter Cell Conviction, it was announced on 2007 then everything went quiet and no one knew anything about the game for almost 3 years.

I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happened with this game as well, and if I had to guess I'd say its because of the new console generation. I don't think they're going to say anything about it, for a long while, maybe next year probably. To be honest like most other Tom Clancy games these days, I'm not interested, they lost their edge when they started to think the could emulate Call of Duty.

They'll be QTEs for kissing your wife.

R6 series died after Raven Shield.

Still not expecting a proper tactical shooter out of UBI. Especially in this day and age.

True, nonetheless, I doubt UBISOFT will make it a tactical shooter like it was in the past, since that isn't "cool" anymore. Besides, I doubt anyone from R6 Raven Shield will be working on it, if I remember correctly, Red Storm the developer who made those games doesn't exist anymore and if it does I doubt it has any of the original people.

She's a district attorney and single. I could introduce...but only if you lift bro. Do you even lift?

Edit: Basing the quality of the game on Vegas 2, I think it'll be good. And good lord do we need a graphics update. You'll have a squad, and be able to issue commands/take cover etc... It'll be tactiCOOL

Sadly, I think you're right. COD has truly ruined the genre and that is not hyperbole. By making such an accessible shooter that requires no skill and rewards failure, gamers have lost the will to be competitive. All they want now is to earn experience to unlock a new kill streak or weapon skin.

I've seen what happens when COD players who think they're really good at shooters try other shooters that require planning and skill. They get pissed off, say the game sucks, and then go back to COD. That would be the reception a modern Raven Shield would receieve and Ubisoft would declare it a failure. So, I think it's entirely possible they'll take that risk, but I think it's more likely that they'll try to turn it into COD "SWAT Edition".

Not just "COD SWAT Edition", it'll be a cheap copy, I remember that once with Rainbow Six Vegas 2 where they introduced a grenade indicator, how much more closer to "cheap copy" can that be? Granted neither Vegas or Vegas 2 were all that realistic anyways not like Rave Shield, but at least Vegas 1 was ok and still required planning and smarts even in MP, there was no way you'd be able run n gun not if you could get killed with one shot. The only thing that bothered me about Vegas 1 was the amount of idiots that dressed up like clowns, that should've been restricted a lot more than it was.

The big problem with the R6 Vegas games (aside from health regen) was the retarded 3rd person cover mode, which enabled you to see everything out there while still being completely protected.

I'm sure Patriots will have some bs like that too.

Agreed. That one feature (along with health regen) pretty much destroyed competitive play.

Ubisoft have how much experience with tactics? And after seeign the retarded AI of ACIII, I think Ubi are going to have to employ new people who are actually capable of thinking in terms of tactics.

There has been only one attempt of getting a Rainbow-like tactical shooter funded(Takedown).

And guess what? Hardly anybody showed any interest. If you thought that the cRPG were a niche genre, then wtf does that make a crowd funded game that has no real current competitors of it's type of FPS? One that can't even attract 0.25 million dollars worth of crowd funding? I suppose that the the pitch could have been better, but I'm getting a feeling that people no longer care about the stagnation of the genre. It's as if people are unaware or no longer remember anything that came before CoD.

You have to keep in mind that the people  like myself who really enjoyed those old school tactical shooters were in their teens at the time. Today they're all grown up and have probably moved on. The key difference here is that the teens today were brought up on Halo and COD. That's all they know of the genre for the most part. I think that's why there is a lack of interest. My interest in FPS games has gone down significantly since 2007. However, I would absolutely love to have a new Rainbow Six or something like it that isn't trying to only appeal to the lowest common denominator.

But a Rainbow Six that plays like COD is of no interest to me. However, there would be a lot of people who would probably love it. "Hey man, it's like COD but ****ing SWAT! You'll love it, dude!" <----- those kinds of people.

Yep, had they removed health regen in Vegas 1, the 3rd person camera and the retarded clown outfits, the game would have been fine, well and they should've had an 8 man team or something for SP, I found it kind of stupid that 3 guys were able to take out about 100 terrorists or something. If I know UBISOFT, they are going to make something worse than just what Vegas had, just look at Splinter Cell, aside from the retarded "press one button" kill system, they added in goggles that let you see through walls.

Third person was awesome, and it allowed you to see your armor. Better than no cover mechanic.

8 man team, lol. Tell that to Navy SEALs oO

I actually enjoyed the first Vegas game. Not so much with the second. Adding the ability to sprint made balancing mobility and armor completely pointless and everyone just ran around in full armor with a shotgun.

What's wrong with using cover like a normal person instead of having this gimmicky mechanic that lets you cheat ?

And playing dress up is more important than realism/gameplay ?

I'm sure Patriots will be right up your alley.

I don't really care about aesthetics, sure the armor looked nice, and I'd be fine with it if they kept it but the cover mechanic was pretty stupid, and its not like first person cover mechanics don't exist anyways, I believe they used one for Far Cry 3, even if it is a pretty crappy game in my opinion.

If I remember correctly, I think in the older rainbow six games you did have 8 man or 6 man teams. Its supposed to be a tactical shooter, in what world do you see 3 people taking out about a 100 terrorists each mission, especially when its not some low tech and inexperienced terrorist which rarely ever appear in R6. The old games were pretty clear on the fact that you weren't some super soldier, something that UBISOFT apparently wants to ignore. .

I feel like I'd just be stating too many obvious things If I decide to carry on too long.

Suffice it to say, you've probably never played the game on realistic difficulty. If you don't appreciate an actual realistic cover mechanic than you can just opt out by NOT USING IT! Enjoy angle glitching , enemies in the game will hit exposed areas of your body and drop you right quick.

As for health regen, lmao really? You die in two bullets anyway.

The only difficulty I ever played was realistic. And going into a 3rd person view is far from it.

The question is have you ever played any Raven Shield or previous R6 games ?
