I was sort of impressed with the X-box One until I read in this thread that it's slower than the PS4.

I wasn't interested in the sports games or Call of Duty:Ghosts but I might get a next generation console for ME4 even though I've never played any ME games before. So I haven't decided which console to get but the X-box One looks fun but I don't know if kinect will work in my bedroom.

There was a huge focus on the PS3 being a multi-media beast with its built in Blu-Ray player. Sony advertised it as the best blu-ray player on the market.

I'm so glad they focused on the TV aspect, which will most likely be a stripped down gimmick in any country outside of the US.

I didn't want to imagine an event worse than PS4, PS4 was ridiculed throughout the gamer community and many people were disappointed by the specs provided and the lack of gaming information. Today, I found out my imagination is very limited, they've proven me wrong and force-fed me television.

Were I still interested in consoles, I'd definitely go out and snag a Playstation 4 after this mess. Sony's marketing can exploit Microsoft's errors to establish dominance.

Even if you choose not to use the motion type stuff that Kinect allows, it'll still work fine for voice recognition.

And since Kinect 2.0 comes with the Xbox One when you purchase it, you shouldn't have anything to worry about it.

Ahh, oh yeah. Funny enough, Microsoft didn't spend a lot of time focusing on putting blu-ray into the next console.

Kinect 2.0 is more of a question mark than a plus. Will Kinect 2.0 be as buggy as the last one? Will the games still be terrible or simplistic? Will it make me want to toss the durn thing out the window?

Well FIFA is pretty huge in Europe. I know it's multiplatform but will the average bloke know that?

Again, who knows. We can hope its worthwhile.

For example, I remember hoping that Mass Effect 3 would have a Kinect-enabled Galaxy Map. Didn't happen, but I figured it would've been cool.

meh kinect isn't really a problem, the biggest problem I have with it is a fee to play used games, as a person who likes to rent games before I buy them I find this ridiculous.

Just because they haven't declared themselves, that doesn't mean they aren't here. I used to be a nintendo poster myself, but I still haven't forgiven them for Metroid: Other M.

Nintendo poster reporting in. *pats bo's head* Don't worry, chances are high that Retro Studio's mystery game will be a Metroid title, and will be so great that the abomination on almost all fronts that was Other M won't even be an afterthought. And if it turns out to not be a Metroid title, whatever they're cooking up will likely be great regardless as they've made nothing yet that will prove me wrong there. Way I see it, they are the new Rareware.

So what does Retro Studios have in store for us next? Another Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts?

If you're online talking about games, chances are you're not a casual gamer. I imagine casual gamers wouldn't know, while gamers that interact with each other online would obviously know this already.

To a casual gamer, this stuff is incredible. I think all the pessimism is just from the hardcore.

And even then, not all the hardcore gamers are freaking out in a negative way. Me for an example, I knew the games would come 19 days later, so I'm not raging like some are, which I find a tad ridiculous.
