I don't mind the design of the console. I mean...It's a box...Xbox.

Someone somewhere- "IT SHOULD'VE BEEN SHAPED LIKE AN X!"

So is this going to be almost as big a failure as the Wii?

Wii U you mean?

Most likely not. It's too soon to tell.

The Wii was not a failure.

Not necessarily, it was just the reveal that was a steaming pile of fail. I'm sure the console itself will do better than the Wii U.

Insanely better, as will the PS4.

It isn't that hard to figure out that MS was going for a "simple and contemporary" design when making X1 and the kinect, not that that's bad.

Seems more like an attempt to hide the fact that you own a gaming console so people who are embarassed can hide it with their other hardware.

B-but muh minimalism muh windows 8, muh tiles.

Noupe, i'm not hating, but for me it's funny that they claim to have a new engine and everything totally new generation and then show a teaser where the graphics are not big deal.

At least if they want to show something from new generation, at least they should do it with something with much better graphics than a 2011 game.

Of course, that's just my opinion.

Possitive points?, the Dog looks cool, i don't find it needed, but they wanted to show something new.

PS: the dog will die at the end.

If you mean the Wii, then you're off your rocker.

If you mean the Wii U, then I can't give you a concrete answer.  But probably not, given the built-in dudebro appeal emphasized in the presentation.

Well, That was an utter waste of my time watching the presentation of features which won't even be available in any other country other then the USA. The 720(I REFUSE to call it Xbox One) is even more Amercian-centric then the 360 is, something which I thought was impossible, but it seems Microsoft have proved me wrong.

Why are MS trying to enter the living room war? They do realise that they will lose to cheaper competitors right? It doesn't even matter anyway this we in the UK won't even get the TV side of it so it doesn't matter.

I am shocked that they are blocking used games though, isn't Gamestop big in the USA? Gamestop is non-existent in the UK since games prices reduce to ridiculously low levels very quick after release so we have no need for it but the American games market isn't like that as far as I'm aware. Doesn't this also kill stuff like renting games from Blockbuster and your local library so that you can see whether it's worth a purchase? Most importantly doesn't this mean that you can no longer borrow games from friends unless ofcourse you pay the fee to be able to do so?

This is the most stupidest feature I have ever heard of.

Absoluately, bobo. It would help Microsoft keep it up in terms of sales.

So blocking used games, and their always online scheme is very reminiscent of SimCity's (ie no we're not arbitrarily locking you out with DRM, the experience just wouldn't be the same without our Azure Cloud). Because that went over so well, lol.

Listening to Peter Molyneux cover his experience working on the Xbox One during its earliest development while he was still working under Microsoft.

Interesting. Very interesting.

Only as far as overhype goes. Hell yeah to that, but he wasn't hyping anything. He was actually very neutral, very cautious, said he was very worried about some things, talked positively about a few things, etc etc.

He said nothing that should cause eye rolls.

It's their attempt of trying to kill the used gaming market, they don't profit by letting it exist and thus try to end it or tip it in their favor.

This, in so many words, as well as put a significant dent in the rental industry (unless there will be rental-exclusive pressings).  And it's a bloody moronic idea.
