Was this posted yet? (Too many pages to check)

Always online confirmed....mostly.

Someone's comment on that- "The delicious irony is if you can afford to waste the bandwidth reading this article (and complaining about the connection requirement). You can sure as hell connect your xbox to the internet once every 24 hours to validate your session."

Wasn't me, was a dude on kotaku I swear

I'm not complaining about anything, just discussing. ;) It doesn't affect me as my internet is usually reliable. I just think it's sad that people on military bases (like the article mentions) won't have this console as an option.

Yeah, my internet is reliable as well. My console is technically always online anyway, so I was never part of the fuss.

Does it? Because there are still quite some places where the internet still goes out for some time. What then?

"There are many devices in your life that require the Internet to function," he said. "Xbox One is no different in that it requires, at some point in the beginning and at various times through its on state, to connect to our cloud and to our Internet.

Ohai again Adam Orth.

You would think that after Microsoft ****-canned that douchebag Orth, Microsoft would've had enough sense to not put in place any stupid features like being required to pay a fee to play a used game.

Well, they've almost killed all interest I had with their one-time activation code rubbish.

I wish my internet was reliable.

It tends to want to throw fits for days at a time while I beg the cable guy to help me. :(

My online connection for my 360 has gone down randomly extremely rarely over the years I've had it, and the few times I can remember it happening, it was due to losing all power down the street.

Still, there are those that don't have such reliable internettyness so we should think of them.

@LPPrince My objection to the "always online" thing was never because my internet is inadequate, but from outrage that MS would penalize customers who want to play a bloody game and don't have or don't want to connect to the internet with it. There is already enough digital big brother as it is, and I don't need to have MS constantly looking over my shoulder as a requirement to own a next-gen console. I don't break the law; never have, never will and I resent the treatment of paying customers as criminals. <_<

Not everyone plays games socially, and what the hell is wrong with a solitary experience, if that's the way a paying customer wants to roll? Anti-social people should have their rights respected too.

Nope, I'm way better looking. And I'm still considering getting the X1, chances are that guy is avoiding it with a ten-foot beluga whale.

Like those in the military.

And, y'know, those who simply don't want their systems online.

Anti-social people can still have wireless internet access and have an online console. Doesn't change much, except when they can't use the console because of a spotty connection.

That being the issue I'm noticing.

Them as well. Though to be fair, if anyone has to "deal with it" if they want to use the console, I'd rather it be people who just don't want their systems online, rather than those in the military who don't exactly have much of a choice in anything.

So people who aren't connected to the internet 24/7 are anti-social now?

Pray tell that's not what you meant.
