I just realized, I don't give a damn about that thing (or any other controller past, present, and future) unless they found a way to minimize issues of thumbstick tilt from gamepad use.LPPrince wrote...

This is all on top of having to pay for the Xbox Live service. If you don't, all the media features will be locked.
As long as I can still play games on it, I can live with that.
Games? What are games?
Are those the things you could be doing instead of watching TV and snapping to Internet Explorer?

Aye but thats comparing X1 to PS4. I wanted to show people 360 to X1 so they could judge if they've improved, which everyone says they have, so props to them for a better controller.
Of course, I want to get my hands on it first.

Kinect will rebel.
Microsoft is going to destroy humanity.
And absolutely no one should be surprised.
I'll make sure to ask questions first shoot it later. Don't wanna end up like the Quarians.

I don't think they'll really combat "used games" without pissing off gamers... though gamers are the one buying used, which from my perspective, at least from where I live - new releases, used... are what, 5 bucks cheaper? Is that really worth it?
Well, I personally got ME2 for 20 bucks. Would've never gotten into the series if that game was $60; I just bought it on a whim, and because a lot of people said it was good.
That random purchase actually made EA a lot of money in the long run. I got one of the DLCs for ME1, all of the DLCs except for Arrival on ME2, and all of the DLCs except for Omega for ME3. I also bought ME3 new. Not too shabby.

Microsoft and all these other publishers have invested into holding back the used-game market but in all honesty I find it surprising that it's even a big deal at all. I would have bet that most people would spend the extra 5 dollars on a brand new copy. I myself only buy pre-owned when there aren't any new copies left of something.
I've routinely bought new-release games for about $15-20 less---sometimes more---roughly a week after release if I go used, either on eBay or Amazon. And you can find some decent deals in tangible stores too, if you know where to look.

I actually never buy pre-own, but I do loan games out to friends every so often, they do the same. All this connectivity to skype/social media and what not seems to forget that gamers could form their own social circles before hand.MegaSovereign wrote...

I've only bought used once and that was Fable 2, like a month before Fable 3 came out, just to catch up, but otherwise, I prefer my games new and I prefer to have the actually disc, instead of the digital market.

Eh xbox and ps gamepads with that basic layout are interchangeable IMO, I refuse to give them credit for minor ergonomic changes, it's the same damn thing.

With this new scheme the disc will be obsolete.

Well, it wasn't 20 bucks till when, a while after? I understand a month or two (if the price goes down to like 40 bucks), but a week or so after, the 5 dollars less for something not mint, doesn't seem worth it, IMO, haha.

Privacy is supposedly a top priority for Microsoft despite Kinect having to always be on and always listening. That sounds convincing. I'm convinced.

^ Basically. I had a laptop at the time and went step by step, it took me 6 hours, but I didn't give a fuuck. I learned at my own pace and it was worth it.

With Hanar here. Those "minor ergonomic changes" actually make big differences when holding a controller.
My stepbrother frequently complains about his wrists hurting after holding his PS3 controller for a couple of hours, while I can hold my 360 controller for over a quarter of a day and have no issues.

Ergonomics are a pretty big deal. Both of those controllers have a different feel.

Yep. I can't play fighting games on the Xbox controller, feels wack, while the PS3 feels fluent for me. It's all preference on your hands, etc.

I liked the idea of voice-command technology a lot more before said tech was required to be "always online".
