Alright folks, go ahead- Kinect is Legitimately Awesome?

Of course. I love having an entertainment device listening and monitoring my every move.

I am itching to know how much this is.

I'm betting 399.

I'm gonna bet $100 less than what the PS4 initally goes for. That seems to be standard practice for Microsoft. So $399 seems likely assuming Sony is going to make another $599 mistake.

PS4 is predicted to be cheaper. Every Xbox One comes with Kinect 2.0 so it's unlikely that they'll make it incredibly cheap.

Sony learned their lesson, my guess is Microsoft goes with the two option model- $500 at once or $300 at once+$15 a month for two year subscription, while Sony just goes for a simple $400 at once.

OR ... Kinect 2.0 are Portal Turrets. They always know when you're there. "I can still hear you ..."

Not gonna lie, I would be a Kinect that sounded like Glados.

Still no self-publishing on Xbox One.

PS4 allows self-publishing.

It just keeps going.

We also don't know how much space these new games will take up, but, yeah, 500GB is fairly substantial.

Not really.

BF3 for the PC is roughly 25GBs in size.

That's 20 games at the current tech level. My guess is that games could end up being 30 GB in size once tech is actually moved forward for the new gen.

This doesn't account for saves, DLC, or multimedia that you also download to the thing. 500GB for an entertainment system isn't that much.

Substantial was probably the wrong word.  Suitable is better, but even now I'm double-thinking that.  Hmm.

Microsoft just said screw you to indie developers. Both Sony and Nintendo have embraced them. What is going on at Microsoft?

And to think, 360 had plenty of indie games. X1 could have some gems come out of nowhere like Journey.

I think MS might be trying to do to many things at once with X1. Television, skype, kinect, gaming, sports. It's been sort-of proven with people counting TV content being talked about 33 minutes out of the hour.

I'm not surpsied to see IGN catering and working as damage control for Microsoft. They've been doing it for years.

I think the tech sounds great, especially when you're integrating it with normal activities. Reminds me of stuff seen in classic science-fiction---and some modern---that I always wished I could have.

But yeah, the "monitoring" and consistent connectivity is very off-putting.

Did you see XBL's indie market?

It was mostly an assortment of perve games. Two best friends had a nice series on it.

But they do something like this and still expect people to take them srsly as journalists/Reviewers and then complain when they don't. Its ME3's ending debacle all over again.

I'm just trying to imagine what UNO will be like with Kinect 2.0

It should auto detect nipples and other private regions and auto shut off the xbox
