Lol...the feecosts as muchaspotentially costs more than the game.
Fixed for unfortunate accuracy.
Such a convoluted mess. It could have been so easy to just keep things the way they were to begin with.LPPrince wrote...

So will X1's game policy affect retail in any way?
Gamefly will die and that's unfortunate. Unless this new Xbox dies first.Volus Warlord wrote...

The used game market will die.
Other than that, yes. If they start to push direct download.

Then again, I never lend my games to anyone, as they are SURE to bring my discs back with scratches and smudges.

I've got a group of gamer friends I trust completely with my collection, as they do with me. All depends on your circle.

It'll die, on Xbox.

At the very least it explains why the console requires an internet connection. If you could install games on the 360 and no longer have to have the disc sitting in the tray, the console would have to have some way to verify that you actually own what's on the hard drive and got it legit. Otherwise you could just pirate the hell out of the thing. Still, a simple solution to this would have been to make it like the 360: optional installs that require a disc to sit in the tray while you play.dreamgazer wrote...
Yeah, the "no disc" thing is so vague at this point that I don't really know what to do with it, especially in how it relates to the used/rental/trade market.

My gaming circle communicates online because we're spread across continents, but my stepbros occasionally ask to swap disks.
