Not that I'm a grammar maniac, but I signal nevertheless that the perfect french would be "Vive la résistance volus !". We french put the adjective after the noun. A blue rose (of Ilium) = une rose bleue (d'Ilium).

If I think about it, I'll bump it myself the 14th of July.  :)

That was one of the things I always loved about French. It's a little more logical about certain things like where the Noun goes.

The noun before the adjective is probably more intuitive, I guess. But on the other side, I've always found stunning that objects have a gender in the latin languages. In french for example, a table is feminine, while a carpet is masculine. Why ? No idea.

Globally I find english much more simple than french, more condensated and easier to learn (2 conjugated forms in present against up to 6 in french, only one form of "you", etc.).

Yeah, that whole gendered objects thing is just wrong.

We better change the subject though, because if my wife sees this, we'll never hear the end of it.

She's a linguist. She works as a translator, studies languages at University, and speaks more languages than I can say "hello" in (Probably a slight exaggeration, but I don't really want to find out) ;)

I will confess only to the fact that most of the grammar errors in the video are intentional. I will never, ever admit any that were unintentional, especially since I have the built-in blanket excuse of having mangled the French (at least partly) deliberately. I actually can speak it with a fairly accurate accent (while acknowledging that the video does not support that statement in any way whatsoever.)

I'll bump it

:P and :P   .. but yes, it is true. I'll keep it very very short. However, even though we've made everything in the FInnish grammar ridiculously difficult and complex, there is one absolutely easy rule for our gender rules: there is no genders, not even for 'he' and 'she'. We just have 'hän' , and it can be either male or female. Voilà!

Yay Canada Day. :D

Might have to recolour my Paladin and rename him back from Stoned Paladin to Mapleshield and play a round (or few).

After I've sobered up.

(maybe.)

:(  :(  :( That was a sad 14th of July actually. 84 dead (for now, many persons are injured) in a terrorist attack with a truck in Nice, in the south of France. May the deceased and all the victims of terrorism around the world rest in peace, and their family not succumb to hate. The persons commiting those horrors represent only their own madness, and certainly not any true form of belief.

Ye, sorry it turned out like that. I wouldn't believe the count at first, but there it is.
