But are the codes random? Meaning you can get a dr pepper bottle & get a code for The Sims or Bad Company 2 instead of one for Mass Effect 2?

Or is it a guarantee that you will get a code for ME2?

It's for the EA thing. So when you redeem the code, you choose which game you want to use it on, and select the item.

This American favouritism is getting on my nerves, Europeans get nothing like this.

When you put the code in the Dr. Pepper site I linked you get to choose the game you want a code for. At least that's what others who did it said.

Weird how a publisher based in America gets Americans exclusives. They should've done it with Perrier. That would've been fair.

Oh this is awesome....so I don't have to worry about getting the same helmet twice or anything. That's great, thanks for the info.

Just remember that ME2 won't be up there till the 26th...ish. So if you use the code too early you might waste it.

Except they are based worldwide and so is Dr Pepper, I guess gaming just isn't as big here as it is there.

Seriously...people need to stop complaining about this.

If a Euro based company wanted to run a promotion of this type they could hope right in bed with EA like others have...since none have appearently stepped up don't complain about whats happening over on our side of the pond.

This is not a "US" thing.  It's a our company knows your product will help increase our sales and vice versa so we will give you ad space on our bottles if you take the time to offer some kind of incentive that makes people buy our product if they want to get more out of yours thing.

As I said before, they can easily work out the same kind of deal as both companies are heavily based in Europe.. it's not a one-country-sort-of-thing, whatever I guess the items are not that good either since they don't seem to garner a lot of attention.

I hope what i'm about to type makes since...

DR.P in Europe would have to be the one to strike up the deal with EA to get the promotion over there. I know it sounds funny but I live in the city where Coca-cola was first bottled so i have a bit of an understanding of how the companies decide on what they promote and distribute locally be it certain drink blends or promotions. You are not getting the promotion because of EA or DR.P corp, you are not getting it because DR.P corp in Europe hasn't signed on. SAme company on both sides...two totally different regional marketing goals.

I really hope that Dr. Pepper's Canadian corp signs on with the EA promotion. I'd hate to miss out on exclusive items just because I don't live in the US.

If I cross the border, purchase 3 Dr.Peppers and come back to Canada. Will I still be able to turn it in?

I stopped by my local 7-11 a couple of hours ago and saw a stackload there. My local Ralphs (So Cal Kroger) has had 20oz & 2l bottles for weeks now.

Yes.

the codes are for website. They aren't region encoded. The only wrinkle in this is if the downloads are just unlock keys for items that they didn't put in other countries games. But I don't believe that is the case, they are items you actually download.

I'm not a fan of Dr. Pepper, but I bought a couple and gave them to a friend of mine. It was like 3 bucks, so its no big deal.

Dude it's extra in-game stuff....who could possibly resist? I am getting everything I possibly can. Both preorder bonuses, the BDA, the Dr. Pepper items and the CE items. I'm only missing on the iPhone bonus and on the Incissor SR. I may end up getting the iPhone bonus later but that's up in the air now. Besides 3 20oz botles only cost $4.50 so it really is no big deal.
