disconnecting your xbox wont help just hit the xbox button and go to dashbord.
the problem is with the actual server, which just means will the server be back up or is it down for good?

Terminate your internet connection (just disconnect LAN for example) and you can still play ME3 SP with all DLC etc.

I'm just speculating this might be the case, I have no hard information to back up my suspicion, so take it with a healthy dose of salt.
But afaik Bf3 is still feeling the aftermath of the DDoS as some clients still have issues connecting to the servers. Though that can be because the "fix" DICE/EA applied may not work perfectly.

Whatever is happening to Origin made it utterly impossible for me to sign in here for about the past hour (kept getting a "cannot connect to authentification server" error.
@ the person in this thread freaking out that this is a server shutdown forever... um, no. EA actually announces permanent server shutdowns on some website of theirs, of which ME3 MP is not among them yet. Whatever this is was some unexpected glitch and/or attack.

I don't think there is an Aussie server, it's just Origin/EA that's down. It'll come back..eventually..hopefully they decide to do some major upgrading before their shiny new Disney/Star Wars games come out.

Meh, all this downtime doesn't concern me right now. I'm on a nostalgia run anyway, playing ME1 right now and will over the course of today have that 100% playthrough finished to import onto ME2. That one isn't installed yet, but I have my physical CD in case Origin is still down by the time I want to install the game.
And Bf3 isn't really to my immediate taste right now. After playing ME1 for some time now I reckon my first Bf3 match would turn into a veritable disaster for me
