People who don't use mics don't suck. I actually concentrate and do a lot better without hearing some dingus talk into my ear. And clearly they weren't the super elite they imagined themselves to be. True champions medi-gel when it's necessary.

OP i hardly ever use a mic, and the ppl you described in your post sound like some of the pug scrubs i love carrying. in fact, it's ppl like those that make me glad i hardly ever use my mic.

and then there's Tchoky...whose silent domination makes me feel quite scrubbish. again, no mic use from him.

we're out there OP, don't worry. carrying the ME3 standard proudly and efficiently.
in silence.

Was wondering when you or Tchoky would respond :P Yesterday was good btw. I think we need to run a biotic squad next time.

I only recently started using a mic because I didn't have one. Now I use one *only* when I don't have to be quiet. I have two kids and I play mainly at night and weekends. If anyone is asleep, I don't use the mic. If I can get away with it, I use it sparingly. Having a mic does not equal eliteness. Having a mic can assist others but I've found that a mic is different between consoles and PC (I'm on a PC and 98% of the time it is casual conversation and 2% directing others to what to do - and sometimes they need it); I'm unsure what console users hear but I've heard some stories.

I'm not the best player out there but I can usually hold my own in Gold (I am not too good in Platinum but I am decent depending on which kit I use and whether or not I host). If I want easy credits or I want to show off, then I go to Silver.

Mics are helpful, but anyone using them to belittle others, I usually avoid them. I only use them when necessary.

Well i only play silver or very rarely gold . But as i seen it most of the time those who use the mic (i have ot plugged in btw with push to talk. I only plug it out when im drunk XD so no temptation to say something stupid.. ) are know each other but i seen matches (not platinum ever thats Arma*fuc**ng*geddon for me XD ) where nobody sayd a word on gold and went down smotley. So no i dont think it detemines the "bad" players its only my opinion offcourse.

'Tis best not to generalise.

Some of the best players I've played wuth don't have/use their mics.
And I pretty much never use mine with randoms and am not particularly chatty when on with friends, and I like to think I'm a fairly solid player.

You were playing wit some idiots by the sound of it, take no notice.

:wizard:  Sarcasm detected.  No mic might mean they have partner/spouse/kid sleeping, or that they don't feel like being social.

no doubt that the mic can make things more effective, and I prefer when people have mics for the social part.  Most pugs don't ever talk and its refreshing sometimes when you have a friendly group.

Mic is always muted here...Australian Shepherds (yes plural, I should be committed) make lots of noise when they play...

True, they can be friendly and still expect you to carry them though. :P:D

I tend to only use the mic when something very weird is going on, or slightly more liberally if someone else is already talking.

When being revived or leaving a Gold PuG, I also tend to say thanks.

On xbox, I would say most players don't use mics. And the few with their mic on, are actually in a party chat.

Perry to Volus managed to get you on your mic.. even if it was just to ask if he had anything for platinum xD (which he didn't)

Aah, nothing quite like platnum pugs..

We flew to the mission all huddled in a shuttle. Nobody said a word.
We fought through a mission and made it to extraction. Nobody said a word.
We flew away from that mission all huddled in a shuttle. Nobody said a word.

Earthborn N7s are a solemn lot that don't believe in communication.

hyperthreadz, that avatar is one of the best I've seen.  Who knew dogs were so benevolent as to give up pizza rather than grabbing it and running off?

PC players know better than to ever talk to strangers.
