Using a mic certainly doesn't determine skill level. I use my mic because I like to socialize and joke around with friends. Will use it as well in PUGs to help out if someone doesn't see something approaching or to say thanks for a revive. Those guys were douchebags though. Seems like they suffer from the "holier than thou elitist attitude" that annoys me to no end! Lol! ^_^

I have some shyness in me, so I dont always, almost never use a mic.

Perry to Volus managed to get you on your mic.. even if it was just to ask if he had anything for platinum xD (which he didn't)

Aah, nothing quite like platnum pugs..

I didnt want to revive him every second. I was right to, he didnt help us in those game :P

OP claims to have encountered PC PUGs talking into their microphones. More than one, in a single match. Talking in English.

Not possible. I call hax.

edit: On closer inspection, OP is apparently on 360 despite talking about Origin accounts. I'm confuddled. Disregard this post and continue with your abnormally silent console peasantry, OP.

Sometimes I would like to speak to others but for the most part it's better that my mic isn't working because I'd just end up yelling at the stupid f*cks messing up the game.
I almost always leave games where people won't shut up. Telling me that there's an enemy behind me is awesome, telling me about random nonsense is not.

Seconded.

But yeah, Perry the Volus was bad and should feel bad. At least he didn't quit.. then again, that may have been for the better lol.
The games were essentially duos (which wasn't so good for me being out of practice >.<), until Tckocky turned up and smoothed things out.

Btw, I owe you a Banshee Tckocky :P

I prefer to be off-mic, when PuGing. The more I need to concentrate, the more I prefer not to have a headset on.

With a full lobby of friends, there's usually enough aggro to go around that I don't need to concentate, as much, and the mic actually lets me be more helpful, by calling out rushing melee units, or sneaky-teleporty-Banshees.

Those are generalizations, though.

For the most part, I'm happy either way, as long as someone isn't playing music, making obnoxious noises, or just generally being a nuisance on the mic.

I use a mic in PUGs. I'm sure most wish I didn't.

Fun factor aside, when used to provide teammates info, it can obviously be very useful. Like warning teammates about bad areas, or telling the last guy standing watch his six because a phantom is there or something.

I don't believe a second that "mics don't make a difference in a game". In some situations they don't, but not all.

Don't use my mic alot ( I don't really talk to much. I shy ). But I've come across players that are just bad, with or without mics. Probably why I don't PuG plat. Have enough problems in Gold.

I always use a mic, but it seems like nobody else talks 90% of the time. Even if I say something (as in, there's a phantom behind you, Bob1234), people are completely quiet unless I know them from my friends list.
