I dunno. I've never seen them. But I do there's a very big focus on
Rocky's more 'down-to-Earth' training and the other guy's much more
clinical, scientific training.

Please watch the movies that you're referencing, David.

I hate the fact that I know this, but I believe he is talking about Rocky 4.

Shepard was under the influence of the Reaper artifact at the time.

I have to say, the numberous posts whining about me are very irritating.

Ain't no reason for you to hate that you know that.

What I think the main problem is that Bioware wrote Shepard as a character, not a soldier.
There are many times when he should easily be able to gain the advantage in situations or not get his ass handed to him in stupid ways.

Just compare Shepard to Big boss in MGS3.
Big boss was written as a soldier, it shows at multiple points in the game.
Bioware ignored or failed to write Shepard like this, leading him to appear much more unskilled then he should be.

I mean just look how close he gets held up by an old woman in Arrival. That's just not a realistic portrayl of a Veteran special forces soldier.

Now in this I agree. I'll stand by the original argument that Thane should still trump Shepard but if it became a war of nutrition (think Wrex's story with his Asari friend) then it would then become more even.

They really keep him from feeling like a soldier. I can't think of any outstanding tactical decisions he makes and even in the Suicide Mission the player/character has their hand held in how to make the correct decisions. There's plenty of scenes were Shepard should have known what to do or been able to react differently if they kept his military training involved in the writing.

And what scenes are those?

(Although that is true. Shepard should feel more like an adventurer and less like a grunt.)

It wont, with the trilogy now over, there's no reason to allow all the obsession over fictional characters any longer, they only did it in the first place to look like nice people and promote "love" for these characters. Now that the story is over and any future of these characters impossible.. Why keep them open?

One that stands out is when you confront the Merc in the towers.(The one you throw out the window)

First, Shepard just points his gun at him and makes no attempt to disarm him or restrain him.

The the merc says "If you shoot me, my squad will hear you. You won't make it out alive."

Shepards reaction is something like "Damn, he's right" (He doesn't say that, but it's implied).
He could have easily snapped his neck, choked him. Something.
He did throw him out the window, but that's as bad as shooting him.

One thing you must know about David is that in his mind no one can be better than Shepard. Not one damn person in the galaxy. Shepard is the smartest, fastest, and strongest person in the galaxy. W/ that in mind, you would do well not to blaspheme against Jesus Shepard-Christ.

To be fair, by ME2 Shepard is a freaking super soldier.

But he still had help from his squad.

I don't think he's disputing that, but the fact does remain.

Off the top of my head - A highly trained soldier does not actively punch a reporter live on air.

It would be different if she interviewed you after each of the main missions with her questioning getting progressively more anti-Shepard. That would allow for Shepard to snap during the last interview but in the very first? No. That's thrown in as a mirror to the "come here, Manuel, time to say goodnight" from Eden Prime.

Yeah. I do not think it is far fetched to believe that after the Lazarus project, Shepard really is one of the most powerful individuals of the entire team. He has some of the best training the galaxy has to offer, coupled with the cybernetic upgrades of Lazarus.

Oh yeah I forgot other people work themselves up over nothing. This thread explains why it was closed.

Did Bioware's brand image have anything to do with it being locked down?

There was some rather unsavory material posted in there. I could understand why you wouldn't want people posting that stuff on your official site.

This thread is an excellent thing to point to anytime someone asks this from now on. They want to know why? Link to this thread and make them realize it's just a small tip of the iceburg of how bad that section was getting, and they'll understand why it's locked down.

Bioware offered a new ending dlc, but quickly canned it due to lack of downloads.

Quite sad really, it offerd an expansion on the breath scene and showed shepard reunite with his crew on the citadel.

Shame that people pitched a fit over the $15 price tag, really.
