To be honest I'm not sure where else to post this, so I thought I might try here (if there's a better forum please by all means direct me there).

But I had little questions about Thedas and it's more mundane, domestic stuff:

1. What kind of ships are we looking at in Thedas?  Are we looking at the blocky short range ships and galleys of the Medieval Era, or are we talking about more Age of Sail style ships?  If the latter, how do they operate in combat without gunpowder?

2. Are there any "professional" armies in the nations of Thedas?  Does anyone pay their soldiers, or are they a primarily feudal society on all fronts (mercenaries and guards notwithstanding) who are expected to fight for their liege lord regardless of pay?

3. Do any of the nations employ pirates as privateers against one another?

4. What is banking and money lending like in Thedas?   Are there any banks?  Are there money lenders, or does that tend to fall under merchants?  Are there any laws to restrict usury and outrageous amounts of interest that can accrue here?
