I've been consolized over the last few years. I simply prefer to game in my easy chair in my living room with my large screen tv. I'll have to wait to see re games for each of those systems.

I'm with you. System requirements? Ha. Ha ha. Image IPB

To each their own, but I just don't care about that stuff anymore, and it's nice to just put in a disc, hit start, and play.

I'll stick to my PC, both consoles are already outdated if you ask me. The only thing that the PS4 has that is better than my PC is the 8GB GDDR5 memory but that's it. Xbox 1 runs at 1.6 GHz and PS4 at 2.0 GHz which is pretty low compared to what you can run with a PC.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't GDDR5 only for graphics cards? If so, do you mean to say you have an 8GB GDDR5 video card?

I meant that it has a better graphics card than my PC or whatever, mine only has 2GB. That's about the only thing that it can do better. Everything else seems to be outdated on thos consoles or soon will be. I mean seriously, 1.6 GHz and 2.0 GHz processors, really? The should at least get up to 3.0 GHz, but then again they wouldn't be consoles if they didn't use crap hardware that makes them cheap. This pisses me off because in the end the PC  ends up getting crap games that are limited by consoles.

I don't know much about bottlenecking and that but if the PS4 has 8GB GDDR5 and 2.0 GHz won't that start to cause problems? Or what, is it that they're just using a graphics processor that isn't all that good but still has that much memory or something?

Yeah, I like how PC thinks they're the master race. You know, cuz they have all of the PS exclusive games like Uncharted, infamous, the upcoming The Last of Us... jk. I really do see the benefits of the PC, but it just feels different on a console. As far as console go, PS is superior to Xbox for two reasons.
1)Free internet
2)Better and wider variety of console exclusives

My PC will continue to remain my primary choice of gaming and at some point it look like i'll pick up the PS4 as the secondary system when i feel there are enough games on it to warrant getting it.

PS4 because of exclusives and typically good and reliable 3rd party support. Nothing more, nothing less.

When you can find (or build) a PC for $300-$500 that can run these games and offers the convenience a console does, you let me know, OdanUrr. As HD said, I want to pop a disc in, hit start and play. I don't want to deal with system requirements and all of that mess. That, and I just don't like the PC community. The one for Xbox and PlayStation isn't great by any means, but there's a special kind of douchebaggery that runs rampant with PC gamers.

Neither yet, both press conferences were a bit sh*t and neither has persuaded me to part with money. It will be very close to release date before I decide either way. Games will be the deciding factor, PS4's game's didn't impress me and X1's don't seem to exist.

You have to have a ISP to get the net on the PS4... -_-

Its just its basic service is free.

Neither.

Wasn't considering them to start... but Microsoft including Kinect from the get-go and implying most games and console functions will focus on it cements my "no."

Either still at the moment.

Its going to be who has the better games at the end of the day for me. E3 will be a very good early indication, especially as the XBox reveal did state eight brand new IPs. So its to early to write them off just yet, even if some were disappointed by the announcement yesterday.

I don't live in the US so my prices are different.

I assume you mean "convenience." What convenience are you referring to?

Well, with the next-gen consoles you still need to install your games and disk space becomes a premium.

I'm afraid that is not a PC exclusive (not to mention it's a rather offensive generalization).

Really? always found the xbox community far far worse.

That said at this point I feel the xbox 1 is more of a bad pc than a good console. :?

I'll wait and see what games flock to them and figure out if it's really worth the time and money.
Until then, I'll stick to my PC and current platforms.

Those reasons for using consoles, are precisely the reasons why I moved to PC. Sure, its more comfortable and simpler but often I've found out that when things are simpler they have less options. For example since system requirements are not an issue with consoles then you are stuck with whatever you get, you can't modify the graphics or any of that stuff even if decreasing those settings would make the game run better on a consoles. Besides, much like pre-made PCs they don't really tell you all the components that are inside the console, that's the benefit of the PC, you get to decide what goes in.

Yeah, I can agree with you that some people in the PC crowd are a bunch of self righteous dumbasses, but I don't think it's all that different from what you'll find in consoles, in either case you can avoid them anyways.

I suddenly have a new appreciation for Origin, and I'm being serious. I don't have to take that service online once a game is active- weren't the console gamers, especially 360 (I own one myself so not a slam) making fun of PC gamers for Origin? I'll say this- Origin is better than whatever abomination they were trying to sell today- it never forces giant apps in my face. But what does Microsoft get by killing the second hand game market- they know their primary new sales will suffer.

(And with Origin, I can install and play a game across my PCs- more than XBOX One will let you do without ka-ching!)

You accept one travesty because there are worse ones out there.
