Well folks, E3 is coming up on June 10th.

We can expect Microsoft and Sony to show off their newest consoles and quite a few titles that will be run off of them.

Earlier in the year in February, Sony showed off their Playstation 4(PS4 for an abbreviation) controller as well as Playstation Move, while showcasing a few games that could be run on the PS4 and touting that we'll all be more connected through social media integration while gaming.

In late May, Microsoft showed off their newest console the Xbox One(X1 for an abbreviation), along with its controller and a brand new Kinect 2.0 audio/motion sensor. A few games were shown that could be run on the console while Microsoft covered that the X1 could be a multimedia machine, running television, games, movies, and music, all at once, while switching between them at a snap.

As for Nintendo, they have claimed they'll have a smaller presence at this year's E3, so there's that.

At this year's E3 conferences, what are you expecting from the two big competitors? Any particular titles you're hoping will be showcased?

Personally, I think Microsoft has a lot of work to do to build back faith from the fans, though their claim of 15 exclusive titles being released in the console's first year is a step up from last generation where Sony cleared them on the exclusives front.

8 of those 15 exclusives are supposedly new franchises. Will Microsoft show some of them off while mixing them in with the franchises we know?

As for Sony, they've yet to show the actual PS4 console. How big of a shock will it be to fans, how big of a talking point will it end up becoming? Will it steal the show?

Lets get discussion rolling, but side note- No console wars please. Lets all be accepting of each other's choice in a completely unnecessary addition to our homes and entertainment.

"Unnecessary addition"? What kind of gamer are you? This is serious business.

I really hope that they'll show some gameplay videos or even make live presentations for these new IPs.
The two consoles seem pretty similar (not considering Microsoft's "great ideas" of making the Kinect mandatory and expecting a fee from used games) and they'll be available almost at the same time, so the exclusives will have a huge impact.

Personally, I'm interested in the new game from Remedy, Quantum Break (hopefully it will arrive on PC at some point like Alan Wake). The teaser trailer from yesterday was pretty awful, so more info and gameplay are needed.

If Microsoft doesn't wow people with an extended lineup at E3, they'll get blown away by Sony's PS4 console reveal. That much is certain.

Microsoft has to bring back the console itself, the controller, Kinect 2.0, and I'm sure they're going to touch on what they covered yesterday, but they NEED to have a slew of titles shown. Both new IPs and established franchises that are exclusive to X1.

Still hoping for a Fable IV. Hah

Not looking forward to more Halo and Gears as far as XO is concerned. EA should really think unveliing a KotOR 3 game though. And Jade Empire 2. And Mirror's Edge 2. That way I can shake my fist and reaffirm my suspicions that EA ruins everything it touches. And Nintendo needs to announce a Zelda game for Wii U and show more Link to the Past 2.

Why is it that it seems that those 15 new exclusives sound too good to be true? I mean they could be exclusive but they could also be some of crap games too and not anything like Halo or Gears of War. What disappoints me the most is that both consoles are already outdated compared to PCs and they haven't even been released yet. Aside from the 8GB GDDR5 that the PS4 has nothing else surpasses my PCs specs.

This is unfortunate because once again it will mean that us PC players are going to get games that have console limitations. Hopefully this time developers will start making 64 bit versions of their games, but who knows.

Hah, if you're expecting ANY gaming platform to have 15 Halo or Gears-successful franchises going at the same time, you're crazy.

Fact is, Microsoft was severely lacking exclusive franchises that could attract people to their console. Now it seems they hope to rectify that. E3 will be where we get our first taste of what those 15 exclusives may be, though I doubt we'll see them all.

lol, Valve would obliterate everyone if they showed up, said "Hey, STEAMBOX, launch titles- Number 3 of everything, Left 4 Dead 3, Portal 3, Half Life 3, Team Fortress 3, etc etc"

There would be riots in celebration

There have been a few entitled people across the web I've noticed thinking that gaming is actually a necessity to their livelihood, so I had to be a realist for a moment there.

Microsoft HAS to clear up all the ambiguities. Thus far its seems like their tight-lipped stance is designed to hide details that they're scared to reveal to the public.

Everyone's got conflicting reports, its kinda nuts.

I want Microsoft to clarify, but I'd hope they'd spend their time covering games rather than what they just did at the X1 reveal.

If their E3 presence is just a bigger version of what yesterday gave us, oooooh boy.

Yeah, I'm not expecting that, but I'm also not expecting those 15 exclusives to be anything special. For all we know they are Kinect exclusives or something.

I'm sure some are. Hopefully not many, I'd rather the exclusives have Kinect-integration than be pure Kinect titles.

Not that it matters anyway since every X1 owner will also be the owner of a Kinect 2.0.

That's not saying much as Kinect wasn't much of a success with the 360.

It has potential though. Even though I didn't get the game, the demo of Fable:The Journey was fun as hell to me. Throwing magic around every which way killing things. Hah

I was actually thinking about buying the new xbox, unfortunately yesterday pissed me off a lot about it with all the media crap and whatnot. Maybe I'll buy it once the price drops, I also don't want to buy it too soon in case it ends up having problems like RROD with the 360.

Looks like they're REALLY trying to make sure that doesn't happen again.

Maybe, but that doesn't mean that there won't be other problems. Windows 8 was a mess when they released it, if they can't even get their "main" product to work right then why would I believe that their console would. Anyways, what I mean is that I'll wait before I buy the xbox, plus I don't plan on paying full price and even then I'm not really sure if I'll buy it or not.

The wait and see approach is a sound one. Hence us all waiting for E3 for more information.
