I apologize if this has already been posted but it's a pretty interesting read nonetheless.

This is very interesting read. Nothing tastes better than a victory over your archrival.

I knew what was going to happen when I clicked that.  I was tapping my toes before the thing loaded up.

PC is really the big winner, all of the great console exclusives are going to come to PC, hell Metal Gear Solid 5 is coming to PC. Once Uncharted 4 and Halo come to PC. I will not see any reason to own a PS4 or XB1.

Nic Cage- Face Off. Classically dumb movie.

Plus, come on hanar one can hope. I think there's a good shot that Halo 5 will come to PC. I'm sure Naughty Dog would love to go multiplatform. Why not? More money. It's all about da money.

Halo could once again come to PC but I highly doubt it.

Naughty Dog is owned by Sony so nope, they're never going multiplat.

Metal Gear Solid 5 is not coming to PC either, not sure where you got that idea from. MSG5 will be a console exclusive.

Obviously Nintendo's games will also never go multiplat.

Simple fact: As long as 1st party devs excist, there will ALWAYS be console exclusives. That's not gonna change in a million years.

It's just math.  How do you recoup costs and profit on a game that cost you 20 million to make,  with an installed base of 10 million (Likely much less if you look at historical numbers),  of which only a fraction are going to buy your game?

Let's put this in perspective.  EA said they needed 5 million in sales to make Dead Space worth continuing,  with a console install base of 140 million,  which means they felt that getting 3.5% of the market to buy their game was a major achievement.

Companies cannot afford to float 20 million,  40 million,  80 million,  and wait years to recoup.  They need the sales now,  and since the PS4 and X-box One are mid-range PC's,  it doesn't take long for them to realize "Hey,  wait a minute,  we can do a couple of weeks work to put DirectX in,  recompile,  and go from a market of *maybe* ten million to a market of hundreds of millions..."

I'll guarantee you that you'll see the X-box One "Exclusives" doing that in the first year when sales prove to be horrible.  I suspect you'll see that very quickly with the Playstation when Wall Street demands to know why they haven't made billions yet in profits on PS4.

This is a *very* different market from any other console release,  and since they're both PC's,  things will play out differently than had in the past.

Man I'm seriously hyped up about MGS5. MGS4 was a masterpiece.

That's a funny way to describe a bad movie.

Yes, some of the titles, which at first were only for ps4 and xbox 1 will eventually come to pc. Publishers will want additional money with almost no effort, but still they will be with delay. But sony's and microsoft's owned developers? No, never, until they become not sony's and microsoft's owned or independent, or games made by them become so old that they will reincarnate with all new hd version.

Amazon has such a high demand for PS4 that it already sold out of stock for the launch. They have made changes to their ordering screen and no longer garauntee a console at launch because demand is too high.

I wonder how big MGS5 is actually gonna be in comparison to the other open-worldish games

I have mixed feelings about this new MGS trailer and I don't mean the extended "guts" one.

I've been watching the E3 stream and I have to say that the first 4 minutes were seriously impressive, but then... they rolled out the cheese. I mean, in 20 seconds we get a woman in bikini with g-strings (!!! In Afghanistan no less), little African children with proper trigger finger discipline (come on, Kojima, you want me to believe that ? Have you ever seen some war footage from Kongo ?), zombie ninjas, creepy old man and then it gets good again.

But I don't know... I'm supposed to take it seriously with all this choking and gunning down of children, but I can't.

I think I remember hearing something that Kojima said about the game, that even after 100 hours of gameplay, you'll still be finding new things.

All good open world games are like that. :)
